It's a very nice, comfortable place of Business. It's under staffed which is sad. Do to people who don't want to work. Thank you very much to the people who are working there. Doing an amazing job.

My family member is a person who at times can take a defeated attitude toward life and challenges in general. In Orono Commons my family member did very well and exceeded the goals of his health plan. The reason he met his goals is because of the over arching attitude of Orono Commons which is clearly to be positive and responsive to all their patients and guests. I saw this in action from every member of the staff consistently. The support and attitude from each person shines through and I appreciate all of them. Their caring shows in their actions.

Staff is highly skilled staff. I think the nurses are exceptional and the doctor they got here eliminated a lot of pain from my diagnosis. They keep the place nice and the Interior is always kept clean. The food is good, my only suggestion would be keeping it consistent. I wish I could stay here longer. I will surely miss my time at orono commons.

My mom has been a resident at Orono for 6 years. The care there goes above and beyond what I could have ever asked for. The staff become family and they truly care about the well being of their residents! So thankful to have Orono for her long term home!

My Dad was in the dementia unit and my mom moved into the Residence Care facility and both loved the care and concern that the staff showed to both of them. After my Dad passed, I thought my Mom wouldnt want to stay, but she was like, they cook for me, clean and do all the work. I dont have to worry about buying and fixing food! She loves the staff and during this pandemic they have taken such good care of the residents and kept us informed every step of the way. I am forever grateful to the CNAs, the Nurses, the Activities Staff, the Dr and the Administrators for all they have done for my parents and in the continued care of my Mom.

My grandmother was a resident after knee replacement surgery. Her review I recieved EXCELLENT care. The food was great. The staff was friendly and attentive. They treated me like royalty. I had a lot of fun with the therapist. I made a lot of friends. I couldnt have asked for better care! Looking forward to going back when I have my other knee done.

My grandmother currently resides at Orono commons and is receiving excellent care. She recently contracted COVID-19 and with the compassionate staff she recovered very quickly. I am impressed with the way they are handing the pandemic. 10 stars for this facility!!!

My Dad is a resident who has been living here for a year and a half. The facility is nice, you will see that if you check it out... but the staff make Orono Commons a home. My Dad is suffering from dementia among other things and lives on the Homestead Wing. It is his home now, not just where he gets meals and a bed. The Staff have kept in touch with Resident Family members, especially through Covid, and helped us survive non-contact orders. Im certain they are working extra time to be there for our loved ones. The little things mean so much; at Christmas time they took this photo and mailed it with a card signed by each of the people who know and care for Billy. I am grateful for Orono Commons and all the wonderful people who work there.

I cant begin to thank the staff enough for the wonderful care given to my wifes mom (Judy) recently while a patient at the Commons. I will never forget the kindness of the delivery of coffee, juices and fruit by the young lady from the food service. The many offers to help us from other support staff and the compassion and professionalism of the CNAs, LPNs and RNs. Thank you all again.

I came here from eastern Maine hospital. Was in a 4 day Coma and when I arrived here only had done 2 very wobbly steps . So after the PT and OP work got a stronger a little everyday . Now doo everything alone by myself in my room . My breathing a coughing are some better and now sleep better .the day crew are so wonderful .. Sweet people and do there jobs. However night crew I have a very hard time .. I would push call button because at that time needed help to go potty . It would be 45 min. Or more . Then ask for water and they would say be right back and never be back at all . I needed to have water all times because of choking problems Kitchen is really great most of the time but am Diabetic and find to many carbs .. But I just try to leave them But for the most part ( not all ) the food is very good ...

My brother has suffered from multiple sclerosis for over a decade, and last year when I became his primary caregiver, I moved him to the east coast. Since then, he's had two hospital stays followed by two rounds of rehab at Orono Commons. The benefits we've derived from our time there have far surpassed my expectations. The staff has not only provided excellent care for my brother, but helped me to develop my skills as his caregiver. The success of the new home-care situation I've established here is in large part attributable to how generous the people who work at Orono Commons have been with their experience and expertise. I know that as my brother's MS progresses, the time will come when I am no longer able to provide all the care he'll need. I also know that Orono Commons will be there for us at that point. Having that destination is the context in which I am now able to focus on sharing this next piece of time with my brother. The care provided at Orono Commons goes well beyond the basics. We are welcomed as guests at least once a week at one of the musical performances hosted regularly there. The collective skill set offered by the staff makes this facility a vital community resource, and the generosity of spirit we've found there makes it more than just the sum of its parts.

The Orono Commons team is amazing in their work for the Alzheimer's Association. They also are wonderful to work with when discussing new admissions and how to transition new residents to their community. Such a friendly group of staff!

My Dad has been here for several weeks now due to being unable to move much of his body due to brain cancer. The staff is friendly and competent. The facility is clean. I noticed an unpleasant odor on the first floor of one of the attached buildings, but that kind of thing is probably unavoidable on their part. The rooms are small. They have air conditioning. There is WiFi. They play bingo frequently. They have a physical therapy department from which my Dad has benefited enormously. The food looks unappealing but it tastes better than it looks. The portions are small, so patients may want to bring in outside food if possible. Once my Dad's roommate complained that the staff were taking ages to respond to his call bell. For that, I deduct one star. Otherwise, this seems to be a pretty good place. Note: There is a potentially unsafe/dangerous situation at Orono Commons. Because patients use the nurse call bells for ridiculous things like demanding a special type of food, the staff at Orono Commons will take ages (maybe 30 minutes or so) to respond to the call bells. This means that if a patient has a genuine medical emergency, there may be no way to get the staff's attention.

My Mother went from Assisted Living eventually into Full Nursing care at Orono Commons over the past several months so we got to see the entire facility and all of the staff. We were extremely impressed with how efficiently the system worked, but most importantly we were extremely impressed with the care and attention offered by all of the staff at Orono Commons. The staff always treated her with respect and caring. The staff make this facility what it is - as much of a home and family as one could expect in a time of stress and emotion. Paul and Lyn
