My father has very advanced dementia and is 98. We finally felt we could not safely keep him at home without risk of injury. We have found Arden Courts to be caring and respectful. The Administrator is there alot and easily reached. She has been very responsive to any of our concerns. I cant address the activity programs as he is often too tired to participate but everyone knows him by name and they are very friendly. My father always loved the outdoors and the beautiful walking paths were a real plus in our eyes. The decision to let someone else care for a loved one is very difficult and there is a transition period when letting go of every aspect of their care is necessary. I felt we were nursed along that process well. I would recommend them whole-heartily.

My father has been living at the Arden Courts of Towson since May 2023 and suffers from Parkinsons and dementia. After a horrific experience at Oak Crest (independent living to assisted living), a traumatic stay at the hospital, and then placement in Levindale where they drugged him up out of his mind, I was honestly hopeless. Kris Martinson from CarePatrol was wonderful and helped get my Dad placed here. I liked Anne, the executive director, the moment I met her. She is honestly a saint. I am so happy with the care he receives at Arden Courts- the staff is great and my Dad is genuinely having a great time there with the variety of activities and attention he receives from the staff. Thanks to everyone there for making this such a positive experience for my father and I.

This place is understaffed, and needs lots of help. I have a loved one in their facility and we worry daily about their well being. Showers are not given regularly, clothing lost and left in dryers, no silverware. Staff is minimal and untrained for dimensia patients. The manager deflects responsibility and really either pretends or is truly clueless. Sad. I do not recommend this facility for a loved one.

My mom moved in to Arden Courts in Towson in August 2023. So far she has adapted well and enjoys all the activities that keep her occupied. The staff always treat her with respect and have grown to love her. My mom enjoys the food and the friendships she has made. The facility has a nice outdoor garden area to walk through with seating areas and gazebo. Overall it is a nice facility and my mom is taken care of and safe.

Thanks to the staff at Arden Courts Memory Care for treating my loved one with respect and dignity. His mental state is clouded but he smiles a lot and we have enjoyed a birthday celebration and a Thanksgiving lunch in the dining facility with the staff and other patients. The grace of God in Christ Jesus is evident. May God continue to bless the patients and staff at Arden.

I moved my father to Arden Courts two months ago from a nearby assisted living community, and I've been pleasantly surprised. He acclimated beautifully and really enjoys the outdoor space for walks and fresh air. The smaller setting has helped ease his anxiety and he seems relaxed and at home most of the time. Everyone on the staff knows his name and treats him with dignity.

Providing memory care is difficult, due to the constraints affecting both the individual residents, staff, and these service institutions. This facility provides a very well-designed setting for the residents and staff. The activity programs that it provides are excellent! The program staff and many of the aides and nurses are exceptionally kind and understanding about the difficult behaviors residents may exhibit. The meals are good and appropriate for residents who may have difficulty handling their dining needs; staff are helpful. The courtyard is exceptional, and residents are able to use it with modest oversight. It is sometimes difficult for staff to meet the challenges as expeditiously as one would like. I wish that staffing levels could be higher and staff turnover less, but those problems are common to these circumstances. My husband lived at this facility for his last year, and there was a good ritual taking note of his death there.

I had been warned when I first was looking for a Memory Care facility for my sister that I would never find one I'd be happy with. That was definitely the case with the first one we tried, which was a disaster from the get-go. Arden Courts was the second, and it was vast improvement across the board. The caregivers, nursing staff, administrators, food, and facility itself were leaps and bounds better. When a former neighbor who was a nurse visited my sister there, she told me on multiple times how impressed she was with the staff, cleanliness of the facility, and the care my sister was receiving. In my opinion, dementia-care is about as difficult as it gets on the care front. While no place is perfect, I felt nothing but relief when my sister entered Arden Courts. She was very content there, which was nothing short of a miracle after what we'd been through in the previous three months. I only wish she hadn't gone downhill as fast as she did and could have enjoyed being able to freely wander the property, as they allow. As her life came to an end, both Arden Courts and Gilchrist Hospice ensured a peaceful and pain-free transition, for which I am forever grateful.

We moved my dad into Arden Courts, Towson in October 2021, from a recent stay in a hospital for evaluation of his dementia. Overall, the facility is nice, it's clean, and there are activities that help many of the patients. The PT that comes in to help the residents is the best. However, when we applied, they happily came to our residence to get the non refundable "administrative fee" of $4k, paperwork and a few personal belongings. We were new to this, which they knew. We were never given a list of things to bring for my dad to help out, such as how much clothing, and what type of clothing, toothbrushes, razors, shoes etc. We were never told what to expect or how to communicate concerns. They did not shave my dad or groom him on a regular basis. My mom would bring his electric razor to shave him when she visited. Their beds are twin beds, close to the floor but are not hospital beds and don't have side railings. They medicate per a part time Doctor and part time Psychiatrist with no communications to the family. At one point my dad was so over medicated, he couldn't hold his head up and could barely eat. The mental health med, prescribed by the psychiatrist without any knowledge to us, is very strong. It was stopped once we questioned why it was being given. Be prepared to pay additional fees each month. The staff, while pleasant, are always on their personal cell phones not paying attention to patients. It took us weeks to get a caregivers meeting scheduled. Weeks went by with no communication regarding the meeting. Once the meeting occurred it was the Director and the head nurse. No Doctor, no psychiatrist no other individuals. At this point, we are moving my dad. There are other facilities. This place may work great for some people. It's not for us. We wished to be involved in my dads care and visited many times a week. There just seems to be minimal coverage which is really tough on the staff that is there.

Every staff member knows my husband, The care is personalized to each resident. Daily activities are a real plus. The outside courtyard is safe and beautiful and gives the residents a sense of freedom and independence. My husband now considers AC his home, and that means that he is happy. When he is happy, I am so glad that we choose Arden Courts.

Making the decision to move our mother to an Alzheimer Community was a very emotional and difficult decision. After much research and planning, we chose Arden Courts of Towson. The facility is clean and the residents are busy exploring the walking trails and engaging in the activities. We knew this would offer our Mom a "home away from home". As her care has increased the Director, Nursing staff and all of the Residential Support staff have met her needs and challenges with respect and dignity. Our mother has always been there for us and now it has been our honor to join with the Arden Courts team to make her journey surrounded in love and kindness. We have experienced this first hand. Our mother gave us our wings to fly and now it is time to let our love for her fly with joy!

One of the most important aspects of memory care is the nursing care combined with maximizing the respect for the individual and creating a home with a supportive community to maximize the best for each client. Dementia is progressive and can create significant challenges to support and care for the individual as they move through that progression . The main nurse is caring and compassionate combining a professional understanding of each client and their diagnosis along with a compassion of a family member. The activities staff are the best I have ever seen. There are constant and varying activities which occupy the residents with a purpose and a rhythm to their lives which is essential. I truly believe this is the best activities department I have ever seen in a memory care facility. The Executive Director is professional and caring. She constantly is educating her staff in best care practices and the nuances of memory care specific needs. The building is newly remodeled with the best decor and themes designed to maximize comfort and peace when living with dementia. There is a continuous circular path along with offshoots for the rooms that allow for active memory care clients to walk without barriers. There is an extensive outdoor area with gardens and lots of fresh air along with the birds, squrrels and friendly wildlife one would find in a beautiful yard at home backed up by a forested area, outside of the fenced property, but for the view of the residents. The residents take great joy and peace in this area. Physical and occupational and speech services are available as needed and the therapy team with nursing are regularly screening clients for their needs to maximize their safety. The maintenance and housekeeping staff works endlessly as well as the food services staff providing a safe home with nutritious food. They also know each client personally and always help out to redirect a client if needed or address specific concerns that may arise. Towson is lucky to have such a good option for care of thier memory impaired loved ones.

Ive worked as a Nurse for over 20 years and I must say that Arden Courts of Towson is set apart in its dedication to the Alzheimers community. This facility offers freedom for their residents to safely explore walking trails uninhibited under the watch of trained staff. Daily activities under the direction of an awesome activities department to keep their minds active. The facility is moving in a new direction for the better and looking great too! Come by and see us!

Kay was honest and compassionate when reviewing my fathers case, and whether or not they would be able to offer the care he needed. Even though they could not accept him, I appreciate the honesty that Kay showed.

Its unfortunate the reviews of Arden Court are from passed employees giving arden court a negative star rating. This place is amazing. My father recieved the best and professional care here, far surpassing all the other homes he stayed. The staff kept my father actively employed with daily activities and interactive games which allowed him to finally sleep at night.I will continue to recommend arden courts. Thank you for all your help

We have been very pleased with Arden Courts of Towson. The staff has been caring and engaged, and my aunt is comfortable and well cared for. The management team knows the memory care area well. They frequently communicate among themselves both formally and informally , so our discussions about my aunts needs and care are productive and focus specifically on her. There are plenty of activities for the residents who want to undertake them, both in the building and with outings. Having to place a loved one in memory care is not an easy thing, but if you need to do so, we have found Arden Courts to be an excellent place and the management is very responsive. This location was recommended to us by a friend and by a consultant, and with nearly a year of experience there, we recommend it as well.
