My father has been a memory care resident for about 10 months at Sunrise Chevy Chase. The staff's care and interactions with Dad are excellent. Our care director, Jackie Atim and her team of LEM and Care managers work tirelessly to create an environment where my father is very engaged and lives out his daily life with dignity. I sincerely appreciate the entire Memory care staff and the Wellness team's attention to his medical care! Dad is living and thriving in the right place!

Sunrise Chevy Chase proved to be our family's best and smartest choice for memory care services for Dad. Upon my Dad's entry into their Memory Care program the physician, nursing and caregiver leadership as well as PT immediately responded to Dad's state of physical & cognitive decline. Now five (5) months later he's made amazing progress from being too weak to walk or talk and now strong enough to walk with a walker, that he often times simply forgets to use! He's regained his ability to communicate and seemingly enjoy life again. The care givers are exceptional. They treat Dad with respect, and are genuinely interested in getting to know him. They treat him as the smart accomplished person that he is. And, Dad shows mutual respect and kindness toward them. My sister and I sleep comfortably knowing he is in great hands.

Nice facility, great activity staff and caring aides, but AWFUL FOOD, and lots of communication issues between management and staff. Very expensive overall in comparison with similar facilities. SHOP AROUND!!

The facility is very nice and the staff are very attentive. They do learn the personal history and preferences of residents and do their best to incorporate them into their programming. They also get to know the families and have been very kind to our's as we are dealing with the progression of dementia which is especially hard on the person who is living through it but also their families. This is a supportive and safe place.

Bayberry was recommended to me by social workers at the hospital. I hadnt heard of it. When I visited it I was so pleased. Its not as large a facility as most and it felt more like a home. The staff are caring and loving to the patients. They make sure all needs are taken care of. My mom has been there over 3 years. Just recently she moved to memory care. I cant say enough about the compassion and care there. Im very greatful for all of them! I give 5 stars! No 6!

Surely, Sunrise of Chevy Chase is one step below Heaven. The awesome staff demonstrates competency, professionalism, empathy, and cheerfulness at all times. The last five days of my sister's life were made joyful and peaceful by every individual at the facility. Often, staff members efficiently worked in more than one area. The family profusely thanks you for the loving care you gave her. This experience elevates the meaning of assisted living and hospice care. God bless all who make this facility exceptional and that includes, the nursing, management, dining and sales teams.

I moved my mom from Lancaster County, PA, to Reminiscence (memory-care) at this Sunrise facility in Oct, 2018 (10 min from our house in DC). The warm care and kind personal attention Mom has received have been superlative. EVERY member of the staff from Kathy Tyler (Exec Director) to Shirley (cleans daily) know and greet her by name. She has been treated as an individual from day 1 when they allowed her to bring her baby grand piano with her and placed it in a lovely "living room" area on the first floor. Staff regularly play Scrabble with her and are also happy to watch the Tennis Channel with her (one of her "joys" in life). The on-site medical staff is fabulous, taking such good care of everyone. Doctors orders after minor dermatological surgery are followed to the letter and beyond. I received a call when a staff member was concerned about the way a surgery site was healing, something that didn't happen at her previous facility. And in the rare event that something "falls through the cracks" here at Sunrise of Chevy Chase, the staff are NEVER defensive and always immediately corrective, apologetic, and figuring out ways to make sure the same mistake is never made again. If you're looking for an inexpensive place, them don't consider Sunrise. But if you're looking for excellent care and service for your loved one at a facility where you get your money's worth, then Sunrise of Chevy Chase should be at the top of your list!
