Staff are always friendly but very busy. Not enough staffing. The rooms have clear damage on walls. Noting inside the rooms for patients to look at but a tv if it is working.

Lack of quality staff, administration at this center does not care about the care that our loved ones are getting. I have raised several concerns with the nurse Mgr and Director, but I'm told we are short staffed. Parking is horrible due to the staff parking right in front of the facility and the closeness to the front door for them. Visitors have to park on the street or at the liquor store down the street. Staff need to park in upper lot and leave closer parking for the elderly and visitors. Dave needs to do better at this center and over see more of the day to day chores at this center. Very concerned about the daily care of my mother. Praying for someone to intervene and do better.

My husband was there for rehab to get better at walking again but he passed away there instead. I had requested all my paperwork ( bank statements, personal papers) back and Heather said she sent it out in the mail. I had paid $75 to get all that paperwork to her when she needed it in such a quick short time. Yet she put it back to me in first class and it has been over a month now and it has not arrived. I am very disappointed with this facility. My husband had something show up on his ankle and yet they canceled his appointment even though they thought it might be a blood clot. And with the way he died I'm pretty sure it had something to do with it. All I can say is do your homework and research places before you decide where to put your loved ones! Also their response below is a joke. If they really cared they'd call me, I should not have to call them. I actually did call and still have not been responded to. Just like Heather never returned phone calls when I left messages on her machine. I most definitely do not recommend this rehab facility... Beware!!!!

Quality care on day shift, shower room used as a storage room with only 1 available stall, old equipment showing signs of long time usage, poorcare nights, often 30 minute wait for call lights to be answered, shortages of meny items, poor attitude of meal carts, kitchen ignoring choices of food items (regular diet and optional) , no .menus Weekly provided to clients I would not have a family member stay there overnight, I would demand .me. the best .menus for my family m ember in the facility, the best thing is their physical/occupational and speech therapy.it

My aunt is here now and they seem to be doing a great job with her rehab. She dislocated her hip and has been unable to walk. They now have her up and moving around almost good as new. Thank you!

My mother recently had a 24-day stay at Sterling to rehab from a fall. This difficult time was made much easier by EVERY member of staff. From the first day to the last, excellent care was given by truly dedicated people. We were kept informed of treatments and activities and all of our questions or concerns were addressed thoroughly. I highly recommend this facility!

I can’t say enough wonderful comments about Forest Hill Sterling in Bel Air, Maryland. This rehabilitation center showed great caring, stellar skilled nursing, as well as extremely motivating physical therapy services. The staff made a life-changing difference and was able successfully discharged a bed ridden individual after only three weeks. Highly recommend Forest Hill Sterling!

Met with administrator Sharon and her team to review patient progress. Their dietitian Jen is doing a fabulous job providing nutrition to make the resident stronger. Other team members Ashley, Heather, Morine, Amy, Allison and Sophia demonstrated a commitment to improving the patients health and the highest standards of care. Very impressed with their qualifications and caring for their patients.

Visit with my sister started with a phone call. Staff was very polite and helpful ™ Upon entering, to asking questions of the staff to leaving, was a very pleasant experience. I did locate and hook my sisters phone up. But for the most part pleasant. She was very pleased to meet a nurse that she worked with many years ago.

My husband has been in this facility for the past 3 months and I have not been impressed. There are a few very nice, caring people working here that have looked out for my husband whom I greatly appreciate. However, why does it take 30-45 minutes or more to answer a patient's call button? Especially for those that can't function without help. How will my husband ever learn to use the bathroom, if it's just easier to keep him in a diaper instead? I have heard patients calling out for help because their call alarm is ignored. Or hear "It's not my job, I just deliver the food", "I'm a nurse, not an aide", "I'll check and get back to you"...and never do. Or " That person is on vacation all week and no one fills in for them while they're gone" (medical billing/insurance benefits). I, as my husband's only caregiver when he gets discharged home, should be kept informed of updates, but I'm not...unless I ask. Even then, I get vague answers. I come here EVERY single day to check on my husband (except for a few days, when I was ill) to make sure he's being taken care of. The visitor elevator has been out of service 90% of the 3 months I've been coming here, the toilets flush fully sometimes, the sink drains clog, and several times there is an overwhelming smell of urine and feces. No place is ever perfect, but I must say I'm disappointed.

The assistant DON, Kim Ball answered all my questions about the extensive care my FIL required and would receive at Sterling Care after being discharged from the hospital. His needs included PT,OT, wound care, medical concerns of uncontrolled diabetes, current blood clot and sepsis aftermath among other issues. My husband was greeted and informed of the care his father would receive by the wound care nurse after my FIL's transport from the hospital. I am an RN, as well as a concerned family member and understand how important true, competent and compassionate care is for our loved ones. I feel my FIL will receive this here. Thank you.

My husband is at Sterling Forest Hill. We were told there were no private rooms in general. The food is pretty good most of the time. Night Staff needs to be improved. My husband will have his light on for an hour and a half before anybody will even pop their head in. I have complained about this before and it’s getting ridiculous. It’s not like the night shift is the busiest shift.

The nursing staff is very attentive and so friendly! They are very personable and caring. The building is secure and codes are needed to access the floors. The rooms are a decent size. There are plenty of activities for the patients, which helps them to socialize and stay engaged. The only thing that my loved one has complained about is the food (which always seems to be the running theme at many inpatient facilities). Also, the menu says one thing, but many times they end up with something else and the food portions tend to be small (which could be for dietary purposes). Other than that,, my belief is that it’s a pretty decent place!

One of the better visits I have experienced on a weekend. The facility smelled clean and looks organized! My loved one had a wonderful Supervisor Nurse Jennifer on shift this weekend and assisted mom with such care! Even after her fall they investigated the cause and it was due to a terrible nurse. He was fired and told he could never return to that facility! Well done for being proactive!

Samantha (Business Office) and Kay ( Nurse Team), are the reason I’m giving a five star rating for Sterling. Samantha for her exceptional professional follow up and patience. Always returning my calls promptly and initiating all other departments to respond to my calls, who sometimes did not. Samantha always made time to listen and help resolve business and sometimes emotional / stressful issues , even when she was busy (which was all the time). Thank you Samantha!. The facility was clean. Front desk was friendly and gave me written instructions on finding my friends room which I loved. There was no odor. My friends room was clean and she had a walker, commode, and extra pillows and linen available shortly after she arrived.The staff were all friendly. Staff ratios looked great. And the food they served was pretty good. Her nurse Lisa was polite and answered all my questions and brought pain medicine in very quickly. She also checked to make sure they brought her a dinner tray, and when she noticed they didn’t she quickly took papers to the kitchen to make sure she got a tray. Her aide Pierre was a gentleman and brought in clean linen and stuff to bathe and went above and beyond by finding a gown that fit her properly. Her roommate was a sweet lady and said she’s been there 13 days and enjoys it. There was an aide there I didn’t get her name but she was wearing light blue scrubs she was very sweet she complimented my earrings and walked me to the door when I left which made me feel very special. Another aide wearing pink saw me standing at the nurses station and immediately asked me if I would like her to fill my friend’s ice packs I was holding. She also came in my friends room and offered coffee and tea and when she said not right now the aide left her a packet of tea with sugar for later. The staff have mastered customer service. It seems they have created a culture of teamwork and positivity which is really nice to see. The attending Dr. Sewar is a wonderful doctor and recommended this place. So far so good. Seems like a great place to work as well. The only criticism I have is that call bell response time was a little slow. Which to be fair is something I think all healthcare settings struggle with.

Just move my dad into rehab section, care is very good and they answer every question. Food is sometimes blan but that is understandable because it is rehab center and i assume no sugar. But they do offer other chooses to eat.

The staff a Sterling Care are all very attentive to my wife's needs and are very pleasant. This includes all the staff in the office to the people doing the cleaning. This took all the burden of my wife's recovery and rehabilitation off my shoulders and gave me peace of mind knowing she was in a good place with caring staff.
