My wife and I were delighted to find Morningside for my mother-in-law, who moved to the community in May. We use the term "community" because that's exactly what it is: a group of caring staff and welcoming residents who have made her transition a true success. Every member of the staff is both caring and professional, no matter what their role. We visit often and have gone from being 90% caregivers and 10% family to 90% family and 10% caregivers. A blessing for the two of us, and for my wife's mother.

My dad has been a Morningside resident (Memory Lane) for the past 5 months now. The facility is well-maintained and very clean!! As his daughter and former full time caregiver, I have peace of mind knowing that his needs are being met in a professional and caring manner. Very grateful to Dan, who helped us through the application/move-in process, to Kim and Melissa, who made sure he transitioned well, and most importantly, I'm grateful that my dad has people like Carmelita and so many other wonderful caregivers who interact with him every day to ensure that he is comfortable, content and engaged with other residents during meals and different activities. At the end of every visit, I can clearly see that my dad is doing incredibly well.

My Mom is 91 this year and she has lived in several assisted living since she turned 80, because she can't walk, Morning side is the only place that she said she really liked. I would always call her to ask her how her day is going, the answer would always be not good, so- so, it is what it is. But when she moved to Morning side it has always been, Im, doing good, I'm great, I love it here! I have to say it is the staff! Great job and God Bless everyone at Morning side!!!!!!

Morningside House has been a true blessing to my family. My parents are 90 and both suffer from dementia. They were struggling at a different independent living facility that was out of state. Once they started having memory issues, my sister and I realized they needed more support and resources. Also, fair to say that moving two elderly parents with advanced dementia to a new facility out of state is a "huge lift". Fortunately, the staff of Morningside were with us during the entire process. They helped us navigate the onerous state medical regulations, helped us with our movers and guided us to a wonderful setup for my parents at Morningside House with all the resources my parents need now and will need in the future. I recently visited my parents for the first time at Morningside (I live on the other side of the country) and found the facility clean, well kept up, stylish and remarkably/refreshingly friendly. I don't think I met a single staff member that didn't greet me and my parents with a supportive, warm, earnest and friendly smile. Most importantly, I haven't seen my parents so happy in years. I think my mom summed it up best when she said to me "I'm only sorry that we didn't move here sooner."

The three of them give extra attention to the residents, especially Carmelita. Carmelita goes above and beyond when taking care of my mom and the other residents. She is very attentive and always communicates anything to me that she feels needs to be addressed when it comes to my mom. The two gentlemen (mentioned above) are attentive as well. I am pleased that these three staff members work on the Memory Lane floor where my mom resides.

Morningside House of Ellicott City is a beautiful assisted living community that goes the extra mile in making residents feel at home with its warm decor and cozy atmosphere. The facility is clean and well maintained, and the staff is personable and attentive. My mother has lived there now for a year, and she has thrived socially. She moved in while she was grieving the loss of her husband for over 60 years, and she had become despondent. But after moving into Morningside, and participating in their daily fun activities, she's become a vibrant, socially engaged 86-year-old with new friends; and she has a great care team that respects her, and allows her to live as independently as possible. She loves it! 5 Stars!

My mother-in-law has lived at Morningside House of Ellicott City since October 2021, over a year. A wonderful home like community which we have had a great experience. As you visit and review assisted living communities this organization clearly stands out and offers great value. The facility is beautiful, clean, and modern. As well as bright and full of natural light. The staff. who works there has been kind and attentive to my mother-in-law. Melissa, the Executive Director, is fantastic! She is fully engaged with all the residents and helps ensure my mother-in-law is active and well. Melissa’s team in nursing-wellness, activities, dinning, care givers and even finance and marketing all focus on her well-being. There are a number of great activities for the residents, and many of them are very social. My Mother-In-Law loves to play Bingo a great way to socialize with the other residents. My mother-in-law has met many people during the past year and is making many friends. She is now part of a group of women who dine together on a consistent basis which is always an excellent social venue. Of course, no place is perfect, but I will say that every time there has been an issue it was addressed quickly and professionally. The staff is hugely responsive when there is a need. My mother-in-law and I as well as other family members have said many times that we are glad this is where we have chosen for her to live. After over a year, we are happier than ever with our choice. I highly recommend you visit and check it out for yourself, you will be impressed.

My mother has lived at Morningside House of Ellicott City since May of 2022. I cannot say enough good things about it. First of all, the place itself is absolutely beautiful. But even better than the tasteful decorations and abundant natural light, is the staff. Every single person who works there has been kind and attentive to my mother. No matter what their primary duties are (dining room, nursing, housekeeping, activities, aides, management) each person asks my mother how she is doing. If she is not doing well, they either handle the situation if they are trained to do so, or they immediately call someone who can handle it. And then they stay with my mother until the appropriate staff member arrives. Melissa, the director, has led by both words and example, as she does the exact same thing. It is a part of the corporate culture of the staff to make sure the residents are taken care of. For example, recently someone who worked in the health center stopped on her way out of the building to help my mother and stayed with her until the issue was resolved. This is exactly what I wanted for my mother. Even when there is not a specific problem, the staff go out of their way to find ways to make the residents feel comfortable and happy. There is a once-a-month birthday dinner that my family and I attended with my mother, and enjoyed very good food and live music! They make a point of greeting residents by name. They smile. I have never failed to see anyone interacting respectfully. There are a number of activities for the residents, and many of them are very social. Despite being one of the very few residents who does not like bingo (go figure!) my mother has met many people and is making friends. She has even been involved in starting an increasingly popular activity that met her interests, something the activity staff made easy by arranging for a room, and then by finding a larger room when the membership grew. Of course, no place is perfect but I will say that every time there has been an issue it was addressed quickly and professionally. For example, the pharmacy was late in delivering a medication my mother needed twice a day. The nursing staff were able to bring one dose to my mother on the night she ran out so she would not miss a single dose. The staff is hugely responsive when there is a need. My mother and I and other family members have said many times that were are glad this is where Mom chose to live. After six months, we are happier than ever with her choice.

Hello! I am Robbi, I give Morningside House of Ellicott City five stars. My mother has been a resident for about a year. The entire staff have been warm, accommodating, and very professional. My mother is very independent but slowly realizing that she requires more assistance with her daily care including health concerns. She enjoys the staff other residents and her studio apartment. The administrative team is awesome. They know the names of residents and stop to speak and question how they are doing. The environment is clean and well kept. They are there when I have any questions or needs for my mom. I feel that my mom is safe and cared for.

I was looking for a place for my 81 yr old father. I did my homework and toured about 6 places. Morningside (MS) of Ellicott City stood out from the others. Just the right size, clean, nice and the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there. My interaction with Dan G. was superb, he deserves 10 stars. We were on a tight timeline to get my father in and Dan makes things happen. My father has been at MS for about 3 weeks now and not a single complaint. Dad wanted to live out his years enjoying the back deck of his own home, so the fact that he is comfortable at MS makes me feel good about the decision.

Overall, a very beautiful facility. It is clean, modern, and the campus is really nice. It definitely provides a dignified place for seniors to live. The staff is caring as well. The only negative is that there is very poor coordination with the nursing-medical staff. There is definitely some breakdown between pharmacies, outside health providers, ER notes (if your loved one has to go to the ER) and the onsite nursing-medical office at Morningside. That is one aspect of operations that you dont want any miscommunications- lack of coordination. You will really need to stay on top of all of your loved-ones health records-medications and constantly double-check to ensure that the onsite nursing-medical office at Morningside has up-to-date information.
