Lorien Encore is the best Rehab facility I’ve been to. Each time I come I get excellent care from all the staff and the food is great. This is a good place for your mom and dad.

Medicare patients going for post surgical rehabilitation in-house care BEWARE! Lorien bills Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) as a Skilled Nursing Care center and not as a rehabilitation Center. Consequently if you expect BCBS to pick up any deductibles after Medicare they don't! You will be liable for 1000's of dollars not paid by Medicare!! They claim that they didn't know this? Right like no one else has ever found out the hard way? And just what skilled nursing care did my wife get? Well when she needed help to get to the toilet the so-called "Skilled Nurses" most often would just call foe an aide to do this as they walked away! Often the aide arrived 20 to 30 minutes after her initial request and long after she soiled herself and her bedding. Oh the nurses did deliver her meds to her, and I guess that takes an RN to do that. And as far as the 5 days a week of both Physical Therapy (PT) and Occupational Therapy (OT) she was supposed to get. The session were often for far less than the requisite 45 minutes, in which they put her on a stationary bike for much of the time while they worked on their laptops. believe they included in the "45" minutes the time it took them to wheel her from her room to their work site. She didn't receive any truly useful PT or OT until she received at home visits two to three times a week by PT's and OTs who spent the time actually being engaged and working with her. I believe had we hired an in-home care assistant rather than going here she would have receive better care than by going to their Facility..

One of my favorite places to come and pick up shifts as a nurse. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The facility is extremely well kept and the residents receive top notch care here.

Lorien Encore of Ellicott city the nurse/supervisor working on the AL side are very nasty. She will lie on the agency workers quick. Just so they can be DNR from the facility. She didn't know I recorded her when I was trying to talk to her on a professional level. The supervisor/ nurse was getting nasty with me. Then lied to the HR LADY and tell her that I was raising my voice and getting nasty with her. That was not true at all. I wanted to who removed me off the schedule I had applied for that shift a few days prior. I lied and said I didn't work a shift when the other staff had seen me working that day. As well as me clocking in. I can not clock in if I weren't at the facility. Far as the patients they not being properly cared for when this one particular Nurse/Supervisor on duty. I don't know her name but I surely remember her face. Please peoples check on your love ones there. Please

It was a very nice facility with nice staff. Ashley was extremely helpful and provided with her login so that I could document my work. I was very disappointed with the nurse supervisor who signed my timesheet. She called the agency to report that I was not in the building. I was on the unit the entire time, assisting the residents.

What a amazing facility! Visited a family friend. Talked to Jack Hedges what a dedicated employee he went above an beyond to talk with us about the facility. He is very such an amazing young man.

This place is immaculate! Always clean and the staff are absolutely friendly. Every time my Grammy has had an issue she’s contacted Jack Hedges and he’s been there for us through thick and thin. To say he’s become like family is an understatement. He’s truly a hard worker and friendly face. You can tell the residents adore him as well as their families. He honestly knows how to get things done with a welcoming and warming manner! Thank you Jack for all you do for my Grammy and everyone else! You truly are spectacular!

Today I was threatened by Lou Grimmel Jr. In short, if I didn’t take a negative review (that wasn’t mine) down. I would not get the refund my family was entitled to. I requested $2500 (discounted community fees) after my father left after 3 WEEKS! The main (not the only) reason he left: A man entered my dads apt and grabbed him and Lou said it didn’t happen. His investigation was biased and he failed to speak to witnesses present from our side. He stated “I spoke w my team members, and what you said happened never happened.” Although, it was communicated to me the man was removed from the facility… if it didn’t happen why was the man removed? 🤔 He raised his voice and began “man-splaining” my contract to me. Stating “it sounds like you don’t UNDERSTAND the contract you signed, do you need me to break it down for you,”… in a loud, condescending tone. :::I informed him of his contract violation, which was …keeping my dad safe! I stated I did not appreciate his tone or level of disrespect. He kept arguing with me stating “I clearly don’t get it.” I am over the threats and mistreatment of customers. We paid for services and in the end they took our money without empathy or understanding and denied the incident that occurred. I will stand by any negative review. I will also post the detailed eye witness account that Lou failed to acknowledge.

Encore Turf Valley is a wonderful Assisted Living and, or Rehabilitation facility. The staff are dedicated professionals that care about each resident or person in their care. They provide a nurturing and caring place for their residents and rehabilitation clients. I wish I could give them 10 stars for all that they do on a daily basis.

The admissions team made the transition effortless! Eased all our concerns and fears. The nursing staff provides the upmost care- truly taking consideration my moms daily needs.

I had an interview at Encore for job opportunity at their nursing department. I met the recruiter, very nice and professional. I also met with the DON, and she was friendly and professional. I felt very comfortable during the interview. The nursing interview questions were right on-point. She really knows her stuff. After the interview, I met the HR personnel and they seem to have great benefits. I hope to join their nursing team at Encore.

Encore at Turf Valley is a beautiful community with caring and attentive staff. What stands out most to me is the variety of activities going on every single day, for residents with all different need levels. The activities department lead by Mark Whitehead is booming with creativity and outside-the-box ideas. The long-term care residents often join assisted living residents and short-term rehab patients for concerts, themed educational classes, exercise classes, holiday parties, games - you name it! Ive also seen direct care staff stop by just to greet a resident, give a hug or a compliment, or just say hi. From my experience, these are above and beyond moments. From what I have observed over the last 7+ years, Encore is one of the very nicest care communities Ive seen.

From the moment you walk in the front door, you realize that your loved one AND you, are home. There is a warmth that could only come from the heart. This could not be taught; your staff are unique in that they came into this world with a gentleness, kindness and patience that is not found elsewhere. They are such a blessing, not only for the residents, but all of us who love them. You make every day easier to face with your smiles & kind words. How you even find time to also take care of us, Ill never understand. BUT I will be forever grateful. Encore at Turf Valley has been wonderful for mother! She receives tremendous care and the activitieskeep her busy. Some of the activities include: bingo, musical entertainment, bridge, trivia, exercise and happy hour!She really enjoys the food! They also have outpatient therapy in the building that she goes to a couple days a week.Best decision I ever made!!

My Dad has been at Encore for several years. When he moved in he was still walking unassisted and now he is confined to bed. The nursing staff has always taken incredible care of him and shows him love and patience. They call me with any concerns and are happy to fill me in whenever I stop in. They decorate beautifully for every season and have a variety of activities and entertainment. Its like a stationary cruise ship. Having the PT and OT onsite has been very beneficial as well. The shuttle has come in handy many times.

My 80 year old father has memory problems and moved to Encore at Turf Valley last year. I visit with him two or three times a week and the assisted living care he receives has been very helpful. Almost every visit, my father talks about how thankful he is to be living there. He enjoys his meals in the dining room, attending music performances (he likes to sing along), and bingo! He adjusted quickly to living at Encore and we have peace of mind knowing that he is well cared for and safe. One of his biggest challenges was remembering to take his daily medicines, which is now handled by the Encore staff. It is a good feeling to know that Encore will be able to assist him as his needs grow.

My mother had a very positive experience for the 17 months she lived in assisted living at Encore at Turf Valley. She enjoyed the food and the activities and created many friendships with the staff and other residents. During her last days (she passed away peacefully at age 95) many of her friends and staff members came to visit and give her their loving comments. Thanks to everyone there for making a difference in our familys lives.

My father has been at Encore at Turf Valley for four months and we have nothing but great things to say about his experience. Everyone you meet or see in passing always says hello and my family has observed kindness and compassion when any caregiver is speaking to a resident. More importantly, Encore has many services and levels of care available to a resident and with a dad who is 92, that benefit is so important to us. Encore is always clean and beautifully decorated. My dad is happy there, and we know he is well cared for, giving us peace of mind!

Our experience has been very positive at Encore . Our mother has been to the rehab center twice and the therapists were professional and caring. Many therapists and aides were still there during her second visit even though it was two years later. She recently moved to assisted living at Encore and we have been very pleased with virtually every aspect. She has a good relationship with most of the aides and the nurses; the food service and the daily recreational activities are outstanding. From our perspective, she is well taken care of and we feel she is in a safe, healthy environment. We are very pleased with her medical care. The nurses are attentive and make sure she takes her meds on time. Mom had a minor, additional medical problem which required daily attention. The doctor and the staff have been quite attentive to this problem and keep a careful eye on all her medical needs. Communications with the staff have been very good given that we are out of town often and, as a result, we no longer worry constantly about her. Every question and issue have been adequately addressed. Most of all, she has been treated with respect and we are appreciative of the kindness of all the staff.

My Mom has been at the nursing home portion of the facility since September 2018. Her care has been very good and the staff has been very attentive and caring. Also, I am always kept informed of any and everything that is going on with her. They do not hesitate to call me to let me know of any changes that take place. Overall, my mind has been put at ease since moms admittance.
