Such a great community and a great place to work. feels like family
June 2024
I am an 85 year old male widow whose fate has led me unexpectedly to Waterstone where my preconceived negative conceptions of senior living have been happily shattered. I am now in my 5th month of being a member of a very loving community where the freshness of every day radiates through. Having experienced the exceptional support by the residents and staff I consider myself to be one lucky guy. To be able to walk to local shops , local physicians , church , and along the wooded riverside paths is unparalleled. The burden of taking care of my house and automobiles are in the rear view mirror… a great feeling. I would encourage any one to visit Waterstone at Wellesley and open the door to a great way of living in the autumn of their lives. Dan Griffin

Many THANKS for the first Seder night held here at Waterstone last Monday evening. The seder was organized and conducted by Sara Lee and Barbara Sheff, with fourteen residents participating. The table was set with individual traditional seder plates and wine goblets for all participants. The dining room staff was there to assist with whatever was needed. We were treated to a traditional menu prepared by our kitchen staff. The atmosphere could not have been better. On behalf of everyone who attended, I wish to again thank all who prepared and took part in a beautiful and meaningful evening. Arlene Harrison

Completely unprofessional and corporate office was unresponsive. They came and evaluated my dad but never got back to us! My frustration has been somewhat assuaged by learning that they are not held in the high regard they think they are. Go elsewhere.
February 2024
My parents moved to Waterstone's Independent Living side in June 2017. Dad just passed away in February of 2024 and his last wish was to be home at Waterstone looking out his window over the Charles River. The staff has been wonderful to my parents; they really do care! The pandemic was so hard….but everyone at Waterstone pulled together to get through it safely. Mom has just moved to a smaller unit on the Assisted Living side and our family feels secure knowing she will get all the additional help she needs moving forward. Thank you to Devon, Teisha, Helena, Jody, Tom, Karen, Patrick, and Jamal for running a tight ship with love and compassion. I cannot neglect to call out some amazing staffers like Sonny, Cecile, George, Aurora, and Patrick at the front desk….I've missed so many…but please know we think Waterstone is a wonderful place!!

My parents recently joined the AL Community at Waterstone 3 months ago. Our family is very pleased our parents are in a safe and stimulating environment. We love visiting them and finding them both seated in the lobby by the fire, resting and awaiting the tea cart to arrive. The community is clean and well-run. My parents especially enjoy the food and activities. Having drivers available to take my mom on errands is monumental. We are very happy with the services rendered and the friendly staff.

As an employee here at Waterstone I can say the residents here are just lovely. The community, staff, and management are all very supportive of each other. I adore working here and the residents make my day every day. Each department works very hard to make sure the environment for the residents is enriching, fun, and safe. Working here is a delight thanks to the amazing residents and staff.

Sitting on the banks of the Charles River and tucked away in beautiful Wellesley, this Independent and Assisted living community is simply a dignified oasis. Our fine dining, along with the entertainers, trips and musicians are just part of the reason why residents have chosen to live here for over 10 years and refer their neighbors and loved ones to us. Its a way of life here at Waterstone, a great one.

Our parents enjoy Waterstone At Wellesley a lot. Most important, the staff is outstanding and that includes everyone from resident facing caregivers to staff and their administrative offices too! I hear about how nice the dining is (and our parents are foodies too). The hearth is always on and seating in that area makes for such a nice place to relax. This facility is outstanding!

My Mother Alice A. Bililies has lived at Waterstone for about 10 years. She was in independent living and now assisted living. The staff make Waterstone so great! The front desk at Assisted Living with Barbara, Vicki, Jacob, and the Independent front desk with Cecelia (CC) have been so warm and caring to my Mother. The two outstanding ladies are Maureen- Head Nursing and Shannon who have been life savers to my brother Ted and to me personally. Devon, the Director, does and wonderful job in main ting an excellent staff, a great crew of nursing assistants and wonderful dining room. I just turned 70 and I'm thinking of living there with my wife.

A really nice place to live, but expensive. My father pays almost $14,000 per month for independent living in a 2 bedroom apartment! Parking and storage are extra.

I have worked here for five years and have found the staff and residents to be welcoming and supportive. Its one of the best places Ive ever worked.

Im so grateful my late wife found Waterstone At Wellesley. Now that Im alone I am not by myself. Many friends, numerous activities, and wonderful staff to make it comfortable. A true gem.

My view of Waterstone is somewhat different than others. My wife became ill about 6 years ago and we decided to sell our Condo and find a place to live in a retirement community. I then surveyed several of the existing communities in the Boston area and realized there were many aspects I hadnt known existed. Location. Waterstone is located about 1 mile from the Newton Wellesley Hospital and about 5 miles from the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital.Needham. Both are 1st class health centers. If you have a 911 emergency youre only a few minutes away from help. Cost There are 2 types of financial plans available, but not for each community. 1 type is called Buy -In Where after a sizable DownPayment a huge payment ( in the range of 1 Million $ ) must be made before residence is allowed. even though 90% is refundable upon death or leaving, you lose the income, and sometimes you have to wait until your unit is resold. And monthly payments are also required. 2nd Type is called a Rental plan where a smaller down payment is made and 1 month rental payments are made when residence takes place. Upon death or leaving the loss is 1 months rent Waterstone is a rental type Ameneties Underground parking if the resident has an automobile. Its heated and easy access with safety plans serviced by 2 elevators. Shopping is within walking distance, We share a parking lot with CVS and Newton Wellesley clinic. Tony-The-Taylor, 2 Asian restaurants, 2 pizza restaurants are next to CVS and Pappa Razzi and other small eateries are across the street. I dont have to rave about the staff or the wonderful management. Other residents have well expressed the humanity of living here. P.S. My wife passed about 5 years ago and I moved in by myself. And of course there was a welcome committee to introduce me to other residents so I had someone to eat with while making new friends.

Working at Waterstone has been a wonderful experience. The residents in this great community are outgoing and kind. I have been welcomed with open arms which makes me feel like part of something special. The commitment to quality lifestyle including fresh scratch foods is second to none. I have been a restaurant chef for 20 years and continue to be impressed by the the resources given to me. Overall, just a great place to live or work!

Community living is difficult for anyone, especially the elderly. The staff at Waterstone has made our lives comfortable, interesting, and in these trying times, safe. Everyone here is not only nice, but caring. The surroundings are lovely and well maintained. The community. itself consists of about 150 people, most of whom have become friends. I must like it , Im in the middle of my ninth year here!

Eight years ago we made a deposit on a very well regarded senior living facility. Shortly thereafter, we discovered that Waterstone in our own town of Wellesley provided the kind of living that would satisfy us. We visited Waterstone at Wellesley and immediately signed up. The afore mentioned facility returned our deposit and a representative there told us Waterstone was the better choice for us due to its very attentive staff. During the last eight years, I have found the staff not only attentive but also caring, compassionate and insuring a tremendous living experience.

I am the COO of another Senior Housing Company (and have been in the industry for 25 years) who doesn't operate in Massachusetts. I had to find an Assisted Living for my mom and step dad. I can tell you this is one of the best run communities in the industry. From the Executive Director to the Head Nurse, to the dining staff, they truly know how to create an incredible experience for the residents. I have peace of mind that my mom is not only enjoying her life (she calls it a resort) but getting wonderful care.

I visit here regularly as a vendor (I perform). Waterstone is a great community. The residents are taken care of. The staff is mindful of them and very caring. The building itself is beautiful and well-maintained. You can tell a lot about a community based on the residents themselves, and this group is always happy, vibrant, and they love to participate. I regularly perform at over 30 residences, and Waterstone is consistently one of my favorites.

Our mother has been a resident at Waterstone for over four years. When we realized that she would require assisted living, we looked at a number of facilities in the Boston suburbs, and interviewed staff. Waterstone was rather new at that point but, comparing it to the other facilities that we looked at, and comparing the costs, we felt that this facility, its staff, the programs - and the food! made Waterstone the best value and the best fit. Now, four years later, we are happy with the experience our Mom has had at Waterstone. She is suffering from some progressive dementia, and so requires an increasing level of care, but the Waterstone staff has been accommodating and supportive. There is a personal touch to everything, and we rest well knowing that our Mom is well cared for. The programs and events are sophisticated and stimulating and the staff are open to suggestions for more types of events. We ourselves often visit, eat with our Mom, and attend events with her. We are on a first-name basis with a number of staff members. The facility is ample and is well laid out to encourage social interaction - if Mom doesn't feel up to going out, she still doesn't feel "cooped up" or isolated if she stays inside. She makes use of the library/living room and of the public areas every day. We also like the location right off of Route 128, behind Wellesley Hills shopping, but tucked away, and adjacent to the Charles River and its walking paths, a footbridge and beautiful foliage. The community of residents is interesting and stimulating. And, in talking casually with other residents and their families, we have found that most are also happy at Waterstone, and there is a supportive residential community. We have highly recommended Waterstone to others looking for assisted living accommodations for their loved ones, and we will continue to do so.
