It's been about a year since my first review of the Falls at Cordingly Dam and my feeling about the caring staff has continued to grow! I can't say enough about the work that they do, and their attention to community programming..The programs are enriching mentally and physically. I'd like to add now that the first person we met at the Falls 2.5 years ago was David Larouche, the community manager, who provided tours and answered lots of our questions. David's kindness and understanding about all that goes into finding and deciding upon an environment for your aging parent, was for me what really sealed the deal. David is retiring soon and I will miss seeing his smiling face and upbeat personality around. I'm sure that whomever replaces him will bring all those same qualities to the job. We wish David all the best! [original review] Our mom continues to enjoy a great deal of independence, and we’re so grateful she’s at The Falls at Cordingly Dam, where she’s supported”with the extra bonus of living so close to our homes. The staff are kind and attentive, and the daily exercise classes, art lectures, special events, and trips to places like the Museum of Fine Arts and Boston Symphony Hall keep her active and engaged. Thank you to everyone at the Falls for all that you do!

This place is EXPENSIVE. While I imagine they all are this one nickels and dimes you to death. Additionally my parents have both lost weight as the food is really sub-par. When we toured it they showed us some areas "yet to open" to residents that would be great but as of now, almost 3 years later, those areas are still not accessible and/or used.

Our mom has lived at The Falls for nearly two years. Staff engagement, playfulness, spirited devotion to connecting residents one to another, humor, flexibility, problem-solving, patience, have opened her world and ours. I love going to see my mom at The Falls. She's happy there. And I love connecting with other residents and staff. Finding The Falls at Cordingly Dam for our mom lifted our spirits.

My parents moved into The Falls at Cordingly Dam in March of this year, and the experience has been outstanding. The staff are truly amazing; they are caring, attentive and always supportive. There are engaging activities for everyone, regardless of abilities, and the community feels like an extended family. When my father passed away in June, the compassion shown to him, my mother, and our entire family went far beyond our expectations. Their kindness and support made a very difficult time easier to bear. I feel grateful knowing my mother is in such a wonderful place. I can not imagine a better community for her to live in.

I highly recommend The Falls at Cordingly Dam. My parents have been living at The Falls for more than eight months. The staff have been professional, authentic, and caring. The programming, both the wealth of activities and the way that they are managed, is better than anything an advertisement or review can describe. This is true all the way from simple word games facilitated by a sensitive, engaged staff member, all the way to the quality of outside groups or performers who are brought in. The food is consistently good as well.

My mother has been a resident at The Falls at Cordingly Dam for several years, starting in Assisted Living and transitioning to Memory Care as her Alzheimer’s progressed. Throughout her time there, we’ve seen consistently strong support from the staff, particularly the leadership team. They’re attentive, responsive, and clearly committed to creating a very nice, supportive environment for the residents. The team welcomes feedback and takes it seriously, which has been important as my mom’s needs have changed. While caring for residents with a wide range of challenges can be demanding, the staff approaches it with patience and professionalism. The events and entertainment teams also deserve recognition”especially those working in Memory Care”who do a thoughtful and engaging job creating moments of connection and enjoyment for the residents. We’re grateful for the care our mom continues to receive and appreciate the efforts of the entire team.

My mom has been a memory care resident of the Falls for almost 7 years. She has had her ups and downs but the Falls has taken care of her and of us with love and true devotion. I’ve been really impressed by how many staff that were there when my mom moved in are still there. There are a ton of community activities as well as small group and one on one opportunities. My mom is happy and well taken care of. The situation is not easy but I feel lucky she has the care she needs and deserves.

I can’t say enough about the Falls. The staff is excellent and they care about the residents. As with any business, leadership is important and Deb Foster is always available and makes sure the residents are taken care of. Both of my parents had stayed there at various times. Also the place went through major renovations in 2022 so it looks great.

Although we had reservations in the beginning, the Falls has turned out to be a very positive experience for my husband. My husband has both medical and cognitive problems and was depressed and doing virtually nothing at home. At the Falls he has been interacting with residents and staff and engaging in activities and programs; all of which have helped lift his spirits. The staff here go out of their way to individualize the best possible experience for each resident and be helpful in anyway they can. They are enthusiastic and compassionate and it’s obvious that they love what they do. If you’re looking for a positive caring environment for yourself or a loving family, you need to look no further. This is it! Carolyn Michaeli ( Spouse of current resident)

Homelike atmosphere, scenic location, good for outgoing, social residents. You must arrange nursing and medical care yourself - it's not a nursing home. A bit steep for what you get and some things will drive you crazy, but if you can afford it, you won't regret the choice.

The Falls is in a beautiful setting along the Charles River. It is well appointed, comfortable and welcoming. Yet, it is clearly the staff that makes it such a special place to be. The directors are knowledgeable, communicative and compassionate. They set a tone of dedication and excellence. My Mom’s caretakers are patient, caring and respectful. As they provide the help she needs with her daily living tasks, they work hard to help insure her dignity. The programming staff creatively design and implement activities that enrich my Mom’s life through art, music, creative movement and cognition building opportunities. Best of all, they work to put a smile on my Mom’s face. What a blessing for my Mom to live at The Falls.

The Falls at Cordingly Dam is like a second family to my mom and I. I couldn't be happier with the level of care they provide to her and the compassion that they exude both to her and her needs as well as those of our extended family. I am confident that my mom is getting the care, attention, and love she needs when I cannot be with her. When medical situations arise, I feel like I have a team of experienced helpers to talk me through what's happening or point me in the direction of who to ask. I no longer feel like I have to figure caregiving out all out by myself. It truly feels like a team and a home.

The Falls has been a wonderful community for my parents. My dad was a resident on the Harbor floor, which is dedicated to memory care residents and my mom has been in the assisted living area of the community. The residence (her apartment), dining and overall amenities make The Falls a premier assisted living and memory care community, but it's the leadership, nurses, receptionists, caregivers, and staff that make the place special. They care about their residents deeply and the broader family. This was evident pre-COVID, but especially during. As a family, we would make the same decision again today that we made a couple years ago (and the process started well before that). I hope this helps you in your decision making process - I know it's not an easy one to make, but I am glad we made it.

The Falls is a wonderful community. The quality of care provided - physical, social, emotional and personal - is comprehensive and outstanding. My parents have been members of the community for 4-plus years, and have made meaningful friendships, engaged in activities ranging from attending musical performances, participating in art classes, exercise classes, current events panels, speaker sessions as well as social time with other members of the community. When it was time for my Mom to move to a higher-need level of care, the transition was thoughtful and supportive and was so helpful to our whole family. Responses to inquiries from administration is always prompt and thorough, the staff is caring and patient and the food is great! We as a family are so grateful that we found The Falls; there’s no better place for a family member to transition to and embrace assisted living.

The staff at the falls is very caring toward every resident. They go out of their way to provide a welcoming environment that encourages each resident to join into activities that they are interested in. It seems that every staff knows all the residents by name.
