My wife was in the Harbor memory care unit for over a year. I was there almost every day and witnessed the wonderful compassionate care she received. Whenever there was an issue, the staff, especially Doreen, made suggestions to solve any problem. I have and would continue to recommend Benchmark to anyone.

My heart broke when we were told it was no longer safe for Mom to live at home. I checked out 3 assisted living facilities in the area and chose Waltham Crossings. It had a homey feel, the staff was kind and the residents looked well cared for and comfortable. Management communicates well and is always responsive to my inquiries. The aides that work with Mom are phenomenal - caring and respectful. The food is good and there is always an option to order off a menu if the resident doesn't care for the daily entree. Mom particularly enjoys the seafood, pizza and chicken wings! She attends daily exercise class and looks forward to the musical entertainment and bingo. Her laundry is done and her apartment is cleaned for her. I find she is more socially engaged and less lonely than she was living at home alone. I rest easy knowing Mom is safe and well cared for at Waltham Crossings. It was a hard move to make, but I know I chose the right facility for her.

Benchmark Waltham Crossings took care of my aunt for 8 months. Having dealt with several assisted living facilities, across several family members, I can say I was thoroughly impressed with the care staff and impressed with the thoughtful care received by my aunt. The staff was astounding in how they addressed her layered health issues in the memory unit. I would highly recommend to anyone needing a high level of cognitive an physical care.

Staying at Waltham Crossings was the best decision we made with my dad. He loves the entertainment, gets 3 meals a day in a beautiful dining room from a menu, he gets his medications twice a day, light housekeeping and comes and goes as he pleases from the facility. It is truly independent living. The staff is amazing and we know he is safe. The entertainment ranges from the McMurphys band (his favorite before he even got to Waltham Crossings), ballroom dancing, acoustic singers, the Tie Guy, and even a visit from barnyard animals. I can’t say enough about the relief I have in knowing my dad is getting the care he needs from such compassionate people. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

My uncle has been a resident for a few years and I have found the staff to be very caring and loving. There was good communication when a change in care level was needed. Their culture is one of respect and understanding. This is a well run and happy community and the staff’s professionalism is great.

My father moved here from California the summer of 2021, and he quickly acclimated to his new apartment and surroundings with the help of the wonderful staff at Waltham Crossings! In particular, we love Rosie at the front desk and Rafael Wainhaus, the executive director, who is a hardworking, thoughtful, and very engaged leader.

I was fortunate enough to visit this site and experience first - hand the friendliness between seniors and staff and other groups that are fortunate enough to get to know staff and other seniors living at this place. I am a former banker in the Beacon Hill area of Boston and I have had the great pleasure of getting to know so many of the bank's customers who live(d) on Beacon Hill and got to know so many friends and family and neighbors in the Beacon Hill area. I have loved working on Beacon Hill and getting to know so many people who became long lasting friends for me. But I am now at the point where I would like to experience the opportunities to explore city, river and other water areas and meeting new friends and neighbors who I have come to know so well and whom I am looking forward to getting to know even more so now that I am retired from banking and have so much more time to get to know the people in our neighborhood (for the benefit of all of us). And now, I am beginning to explore your community details re: Benchmark Senior Living at Waltham Crossings Amenities and Services. Having grown up in Waltham, and loving the school environment, the bus-stop environment and so much more. I definitely want to explore this even more. Thank you so much for all the information people are sharing that will help many of us remember back to some of the best days of our lives as well as putting together opportunities to provide the same "fun" for so many others. Thank you all for this column and so many articles. I am really looking forward to moving ahead in my own mind and seeing how I can help - if possible.

As the new Executive Director, I am proud to tell you that there is over 500 years of experience serving residents at Waltham Crossings. The staff that are interacting each minute, performing personal care for your loved one, serving them, cleaning for them and performing activities with them, have over 480 year being at Waltham Crossings for 2 years or more. This is so impressive to me, as some have been for almost 20 years! I can say, we arent perfect. We are humans, caring for humans who are going through lots of change. I know from my own elderly parents, they changed......dont like food they used to like, dont like activities they once did. They were in need of much more care than I thought. I can honestly say there is a ton of love for the resident at Waltham Crossing . A ton of personal interactions throughout the day, to elevate human connection. These moments are memorable, however often not seen-heard and often forgotten. I am grateful when families share their gratitude for these moments, when they see or hear them. I think that is when one can realize life is better for their loved one, they are well cared for and loved.. As the Executive Director, I can assure you that each day I strive to elevate human connection and improve the lives of our residents and those who are caring for them as wel . I will continue to do that. Although not perfect, I am proud

My mother lives at the Assisted Living at Waltham Crossings. We chose it first for its Progressive Care model – we needed a place Mom could grow into very old age and receive more care as her needs change (shes 95, almost completely blind). We also chose it over other places we toured for especially for the warmth and commitment of the staff to the residents. The Executive Director, Rob, knows all the residents personally and has a direct hand in making sure their needs are met. Of course there are bumps, no place is perfect. But there is always an open door if I have any concerns or issues. The place is warm and homey – a gas fireplace in the front living room. The dining room is beautiful with full floor to ceiling windows and lots of natural light. The receptionists are welcoming and will bend over backwards to help you. There are nurses to dispense medications, and Aides who come in to assist with ADLs. This place has an ethic of care and all staff working to meet the needs of the residents, which is a very tall order, and this is why you might see some complaints. Caring for elder adults at this time in their life is very challenging with many complicating factors. My mother likes the food, and is gaining lost weight back. Theres a wide range of residents, from independent elderly adults to completely wheelchair bound seniors. Dont overlook this place. If you, or a loved one, are in need of care, you should come take a tour and see for yourself.

Waltham Crossing is a very nice facility and everyone was kind and patient with us. The only issue (to us) was the age of the patience; my sister-in-law is younger than those in memory care and we felt that might deter her from involving herself with the community.

Went to review the memory care unit and were impressed by the staff who have been there a long while. Care is well integrated and flexible. Has a nice enclosed garden. Not the loveliest location but with memory care the exterior is less important.
