Barbara had lived at home for 9 years before needing a memory care facility. She entered Artis of Lexington memory care facility four-and one-half years ago. It was a great decision. Barbara’s caregivers were personable, caring and dedicated to her comfort, safety, and joy of life. The staff at Artis provided superb care for both of us and I do not believe that Barbara would have lived as long or without anxiety without Artis. Their management, nursing staff, and caregivers were helpful often and in many ways. A top-notch organization. They cared well for Barbara until her passing late this fall.

My husband is receiving very caring and respectful services at Artis. Kayleigh. who runs the programs is doing an excellent job and truly seems to enjoy her work with the residents. The nursing staff especially Kristi and Michaela are top notch. I could never replicate at home the kind of daily stimulating programs and care that he receives. I am able to bring him home on the weekends and his weeks are full with adult focused activities. For us this is working so well. Thank you Artis!

Every time I have walked through the doors to this terrific place, I feel such peace and a true sense of gratefulness that our family member is being cared for at Artis. It’s difficult to single out one person, since there are many Artis associates who do a great job. If I have to single out one person, it will be Woman in the Lexington neighborhood. She is always available to help me and Joe in many ways to numerous to mention. I know she takes good care of Joe, especially when I am not there. If I ask her to help me in any way, she is right there for me. She truly is the best!!!

Ive been extremely satisfied with my experience at artis of lexington. my husband was a resident for over 4 years. his condition steadily declined during this time period. the staff were able to adjust to his changing needs. they were very caring and grew very fond of him. he never complained to me and seemed to be happy to be there. the environment was very good especially the outdoor areas. the staff and management was very responsive to me and all of my concerns. i highly recommend artis for those who have dementia especially if they are younger in age.

Until she passed in early Nov 2024, my mom was the resident who had been at Artis of Lexington the longest -- almost 4 years! She has always received excellent care. I love how the building is one floor and the floor plan is circular so that residents can walk without getting lost. It is clean and well decorated. I love how there is also an enclosed circular walk outside for the residents, along with a garden where the residents plant flowers and herbs in during the Spring/Summer months. Orlando the chef has been there with us from the get-go, and he is fantastic! The food is healthy and delicious. In the warmer months, they host BBQs outside for the residents. When Pedro is working the front desk, you will be welcomed with a warm greeting and smile. Nicole has worked with us for 3 years, and she has been instrumental in providing information, caring support and encouragement; she runs an important monthly family support group that I, and many others, enjoyed attending. This is one of the only assisted living places that has 24-hr nursing on site; the nursing team is professional and responsive -- many of them respectfully checked in especially during her last days. Jonathan is the Executive Director and he is quick to respond to my calls and emails. You will often find employees walking around and interacting with the residents. Artis of Lexington is a positive, safe community, and I am so glad my mom spent almost 4 years there!

Having visited many Senior Living communities, it was a pleasure walking around Artis of Lexington. I would always expect the managers to be pleasant and to go out of their way to make someone feel welcome. What felt especially comforting was to see the interaction the staff had with the residents. I felt like I was in a safe and welcoming place, and that is a very good feeling.

This community showcases the best caring and compassionate staff around. From the caregivers to the support staff, they are all always helpful with residents and their families. Admin staff is never available no matter how minor the question. Your told I’ll find out and no one ever returns with the answer. They only do a review of your loved one once every four months so in between they are on their own and I mean in every means. The kitchen staff in my family members neighborhood are extremely mean and the 95% I’ve seen can’t feed themselves or need guidance- their not getting any here. It took 4 months to have a draw handle fixed on a bureau. Been waiting 2 weeks just to hear the results of a podiatrist It is clean and back area is very nice.

The Artis Staff Representatives are alert, and well prepared to address the active needs of the residents. There is a terrific walking area outside behind the building, in a well designed, secure area. There is also seating within this outside area for the residents, along with their families. Breathe the fresh air, and feel young again. The nature areas are magnificent. The inside hallways, with hair stylist, medical attention office, and a large group room with tv & nice seating, are for socializing, and are well received by the residents. Artis representatives oversee Exercise activities for the residents, including some Inspiring dance routines for those sitting or standing, with true positive encouragement by the staff. There are many exceptional employees representing Artis, and such employee devotion is quite positive! The staff prepares Very Good meals, and provides active attention to the residents during the three different meal time periods. Such attention increases safety, and is sincerely appreciated. The parking has become quite improved, and this is another positive of the Artis business. This initiates comfort for the families, and family members start as the center of our focus. Thank you. The people working at the main entry offices are truly dedicated to their professions, and this is quite noticeable. When we arrive, we are deep in thought about our relative, but as we check in and ask a question, or two, I start to quickly feel relaxed. This is a refreshing comfort for the significant changes which have taken place in our lives, for a great man, an achiever, a father, and a friend, Nicholas. >>> 7/15/2022, Follow up Notes: Be sure to check with a Nurse (at the Nurses station) when you arrive, to confirm if it is OK to sit outside in the secure walking area behind the dining area. Also, it's good to ask if your friend/relative resident is under a safety watch. I'm hoping "sitting outside, with a view of nature" is still allowed/supported by the staff when a person is under a safety watch. Nature is inspiring, it is medicine for the soul. - - - - - - - - - - [Yesterday (7/14), a staff employee declined my many requests to bring Nicholas to sit outside, behind the dining area. I was unable to receive the reason for the denial. The rep didn't respond, aside from a "No". Today (7/15) Nicholas was allowed to sit outside. -- If you are refused by a staff rep, politely advise you will make the request at the Front Desk, as well, and do it! They have many Great Employees, and sometimes there can be a pure misunderstanding. Artis Senior Living, in Lexington, has the wonderful view of the beautiful surroundings of nature. Pure inspirations can be considered healthy life-moments, for people of any age! Misc note: Take photos of any signs of injury upon a family member. List the date of any new injury. Request medical record of the cause of the injury, and/or when the injury occurred. Let your love shine, as these are the people who brought the wonder into our lives. Take photos if the family person has "odd, broken, etc" fingernails, or toenails. Request info on their policy regarding safety/physical-appearance of your relative. Ask if they ensure proper trimming of Fingernails, and Toenails, as this is very important. Prevent injury, prevent pain, and preserve integrity. Enjoy the moments ; ) Present questions direct to management staff at the Front Entry. They are fully dedicated to the purpose and care of the Residents of Artis Senior Living, in Lexington.

I placed my wife who is in the latter mid-stage of Alzheimers at Artis in February of this year, and have been very pleased in doing so. We chose Artis for the following reasons: a caring and nurturing environment well thought out layout, the visible trees and wetlands surrounding the facility, and the great walking area of the way around the facility. During the initial transition, the Director of the Artis Way, Nichole, spent considerable time with my wife and was in daily contact with pictures and updates. That provided a significant comfort factor. Within a few weeks, my wife felt at home and was engaged with many of the staff and residents. She has flourished under the care there and has strong connections with the staff, which obviously care for her. She smiles a lot, is now eating normally (which she was not at home), and feels like her room is her house. I enjoy visiting with her daily, interacting with the staff (they are a hoot), and take her out once a week for a good part of the day. She is happy to return to Artis at the end of those days out and considers it her home. The entire experience has enabled me to relax and enjoy my wife and she enjoys me, now that I am no longer her caregiver. A big thank you to Executive Director, Suzana, and her team.
