Every time I have walked through the doors to this terrific place, I feel such peace and a true sense of gratefulness that our family member is being cared for at Artis. Having visited many Senior Living communities, it was a pleasure walking around Artis of Lexington. I would always expect the managers to be pleasant and to go out of their way to make someone feel welcome. What felt especially comforting was to see the interaction the staff had with the residents. I felt like I was in a safe and welcoming place, and that is a very good feeling.

Admin staff is never available no matter how minor the question. Your told "I'll find out" and no one ever returns with the answer. They only do a review of your loved one once every four months so in between they are on their own and I mean in every means. The kitchen staff in my family members neighborhood are extremely mean and the 95% I've seen can't feed themselves or need guidance- their not getting any here. It took 4 months to have a draw handle fixed on a bureau. Been waiting 2 weeks just to hear the results of a podiatrist It is clean and back area is very nice.

The Artis Staff Representatives are alert, and well prepared to address the active needs of the residents. There is a terrific walking area outside behind the building, in a well designed, secure area. There is also seating within this outside area for the residents, along with their families. Breathe the fresh air, and feel young again. The nature areas are magnificent. The inside hallways, with hair stylist, medical attention office, and a large group room with tv & nice seating, are for socializing, and are well received by the residents. Artis representatives oversee Exercise activities for the residents, including some Inspiring dance routines for those sitting or standing, with true positive encouragement by the staff. There are many exceptional employees representing Artis, and such employee devotion is quite positive! The staff prepares Very Good meals, and provides active attention to the residents during the three different meal time periods. Such attention increases safety, and is sincerely appreciated. The parking has become quite improved, and this is another positive of the Artis business. This initiates comfort for the families, and family members start as the center of our focus. Thank you. The people working at the main entry offices are truly dedicated to their professions, and this is quite noticeable. When we arrive, we are deep in thought about our relative, but as we check in and ask a question, or two, I start to quickly feel relaxed. This is a refreshing comfort for the significant changes which have taken place in our lives, for a great man, an achiever, a father, and a friend, Nicholas. >>> 7/15/2022, Follow up Notes: Be sure to check with a Nurse (at the Nurses station) when you arrive, to confirm if it is OK to sit outside in the secure walking area behind the dining area. Also, it's good to ask if your friend/relative resident is under a safety watch. I'm hoping "sitting outside, with a view of nature" is still allowed/supported by the staff when a person is under a safety watch. Nature is inspiring, it is medicine for the soul. - - - - - - - - - - [Yesterday (7/14), a staff employee declined my many requests to bring Nicholas to sit outside, behind the dining area. I was unable to receive the reason for the denial. The rep didn't respond, aside from a "No". Today (7/15) Nicholas was allowed to sit outside. -- If you are refused by a staff rep, politely advise you will make the request at the Front Desk, as well, and do it! They have many Great Employees, and sometimes there can be a pure misunderstanding. Artis Senior Living, in Lexington, has the wonderful view of the beautiful surroundings of nature. Pure inspirations can be considered healthy life-moments, for people of any age! Misc note: Take photos of any signs of injury upon a family member. List the date of any new injury. Request medical record of the cause of the injury, and/or when the injury occurred. Let your love shine, as these are the people who brought the wonder into our lives. Take photos if the family person has "odd, broken, etc" fingernails, or toenails. Request info on their policy regarding safety/physical-appearance of your relative. Ask if they ensure proper trimming of Fingernails, and Toenails, as this is very important. Prevent injury, prevent pain, and preserve integrity. Enjoy the moments ; ) Present questions direct to management staff at the Front Entry. They are fully dedicated to the purpose and care of the Residents of Artis Senior Living, in Lexington.

I placed my wife who is in the latter mid-stage of Alzheimers at Artis in February of this year, and have been very pleased in doing so. We chose Artis for the following reasons: a caring and nurturing environment well thought out layout, the visible trees and wetlands surrounding the facility, and the great walking area ¾ of the way around the facility. During the initial transition, the Director of the Artis Way, Nichole, spent considerable time with my wife and was in daily contact with pictures and updates. That provided a significant comfort factor. Within a few weeks, my wife felt at home and was engaged with many of the staff and residents. She has flourished under the care there and has strong connections with the staff, which obviously care for her. She smiles a lot, is now eating normally (which she was not at home), and feels like her room is her “house”. I enjoy visiting with her daily, interacting with the staff (they are a hoot), and take her out once a week for a good part of the day. She is happy to return to Artis at the end of those days out and considers it her home. The entire experience has enabled me to relax and enjoy my wife and she enjoys me, now that I am no longer her caregiver. A big thank you to Executive Director, Suzana, and her team.

My grandmother is a resident at Artis of Lexington. It was a series of unforeseen events that brought my grandmother here, and we couldnt have been luckier. My grandmother has dementia, and she gets wonderful care here. It is as close as being taken care of by family that you can get. From the care partners to the nurses, activities coordinators, life enrichment partners, the chefs, the maintenance crew, the front desk, the management there is not one single person that is not kind and caring. They handled the pandemic admirably, keeping the residents safe at all times with not one single case of COVID-19. It is a hard job in very stressful times and they are all doing it with smiles on their faces every day. I cannot praise this facility and the staff enough. I would give it 10 stars if I could!
