In 2021, I chose Forestdale Park for my father. He started in Traditional, then thrived in Compass until his peaceful, dignified passing. You will tour and research to learn that Forestdale seems impeccable, yet still doubt how your- or your loved one's uniqueness will fit, and naturally wonder what happens behind the scenes. I offer my summary of 4 years' experience at all hours, in every corner, from top to bottom: the place is special because Forestdale hires the best people-- kind-hearted, gifted professionals. My father and I brought embarrassing challenges, but we were supported, guided, and educated without judgement by the awe-inspiring staff. Sure, there was employee turnover, but even newbies demonstrated human grace and professional skill with residents and families. Elder care is expensive, but my trust and confidence are invaluable. For the same price, I found no nearby ALF or nursing home compared to the compassion and quality of life at Forestdale Park. My father and I spent his time here growing closer, and continuing to be our-weird-selves in comfort and safety. Forestdale provided what we needed, and I couldn't be more grateful. PS-- their support group is a validating, educational, no-pressure resource open to all who care for someone with dementia.

When I knew that my mom would be needing a memory care facility, I didn’t want her to feel as though she was living in a nursing home. My mom worked hard all her life, and I really wanted her to feel as if she were at home, comfortable and cared for. I toured many of the local memory care facilities. And there are many that are very nice. But there’s something about Forestdale Park that sets it apart from the others. The staff is very caring and comforting. They simply make the residents and the families feel supported and seen. The facility is lovely and feels more like a luxury hotel than a memory care unit. Communication is essential and Forestdale is amazing in this area. I sincerely recommend Forestdale Park if your loved one needs memory care.

It is obvious to anyone who has loved ones there that the staff are very carefully selected for their professionalism, integrity, compassion, and attention to detail. The administrative leadership of Forestdale Park are also top tier and they are extremely reliable, knowledgable, open to feedback, quick to respond, and they know all the residents personally. The services, food selections, and cleanliness are extremely well orchestrated. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone whose loved one is considering assisted living. Our family has been extremely pleased and have great comfort knowing that our loved one has a second family watching over them.

When my mother made the decision that she needed a little extra help and living alone became very difficult, she chose Forestdale Park. Little did we know when she made this decision, that she would find a family and community that was so supportive. The activities, the relationships, and the care that she found there put her families' minds at ease. We all became part of this wonderful community. Recently, after a hospital stay and a rehab stint, a dear family friend needed respite care. We discovered Forestdale Park Senior Living and I cannot say enough about the care our friend received during his stay. Forestdale is beautiful and spotless. The common rooms are lovely and home like. The individual apartments are spacious, bright and cheerful. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful and made our friend’s stay a pleasure. The level of professionalism was unparalleled. The food was delicious and healthy, and activities were engaging. I especially want to commend Sarah and Mike who were always available for support and helped with an easy transition. I would highly recommend Forestdale Park Senior Living for anyone looking for a warm, supportive, safe environment for a loved one.

Forestdale, in my opinion is by far the best senior living facility around and we looked at plenty. Since our father passed some years back and our mother's dementia progressed we knew we needed to find a place with great memory care, somewhere she could still be active but also wanted somewhere with a warm comforting feel. Forestdale is all of those things, and there's always something going on. There's live music, day trips out, all kinds of classes from morning til night. The staff is incredibly responsive and friendly, always ready to address any concerns or requests with a smile. One of the standout features is the wide array of engaging activities available. There is always something exciting happening, keeping the residents active and entertained. Our mom has been at Forestdale for one year now and I'm happy to write that we still think it is the perfect place for her! As with many situations regarding aging parents, we found ourselves needing assisted living for our mom somewhat unexpectedly. Fortunately, Forestdale had come up in our earlier search for potential places. So when the day came that we needed a place, asap, Forestdale was our first call. Sarah Starkweather met with us right away and we walked away feeling like we found the perfect spot. Sarah's expertise, kindness and sense of humor put us at ease. Sarah and her team worked hard finding an interim place for our mom to stay until they had a permanent spot at Forestdale. The transformation for our mom in one year has been amazing. She is engaged, joins most of the social activities, goes on outings and is eating better than she has in years. The residence is always clean, the people are friendly, and the staff does an incredible job bringing in music, guest speakers, dancing, you name it. If we ever have a concern, we receive a response right away. Highly recommend Forestdale to anyone looking for a safe place for their loved one.

My aunt Marylou was lucky enough to be a resident of Forestdale Assisted Living in Malden Mass. Her apartment was just perfect for her. She was surrounded by her own furniture and decor and was able to maintain her independence. She also had the peace of mind knowing she needed only to open her door and she entered a community of friends. She made many friends whom she loved over the 5 years she was there. One of the best things Forestdale had were nurses that administered her daily medications and were there to support her when she wasn’t feeling well or had worries. My family is very thankful that Marylou had a community she felt totally at home with. Marylou was also able to navigate through the Covid pandemic with the guidance of her family, the nurses, the community, and the PACE program. Thank you to everyone at Forestdale that participated in her wellbeing, including the staff that help her keep her apartment clean, the people that did her laundry, the dining room staff that worked with her to make sure she had something she liked to eat. As well a special thank you to her nursing assistants that helped her with her activities of daily living, the nurses that cared for her, the administration that listened to her needs and made sure they were addressed, and Eric that assisted Marylou with her apartment concerns. A warm appreciation to Marylou’s NP Teresa, her nutritionist Kate, her PT/OT team, her hairdresser all who helped her to maintain her independence and dignity.They all had endless conversations with myself, my sister Susan or my cousin Diane as we advocated for our Aunt through the years. I would highly recommend Forestdale to others who want their loved ones to experience not only a well kept beautiful facility but the caring, kind staff that exists to help their clients maintain happiness. Forestdale Park is a community of care and service. When our family and health care providers determined my brother could no longer live alone, we began a search of senior living communities that could assist my brother in his daily living. After several visits to other senior living communities, we discovered Forestdale Park. In a truly beautiful setting, we found an administration and staff that examined his needs and developed a care plan to meet his needs. As a result, and due to the care, and service of the staff, he has shown much improvement in his daily life than when he was living alone. His health care providers have noticed the difference. Since moving my brother in August 2021, our experience with Forestdale staff has been outstanding. He lived alone for most of his life, but daily routines became difficult as he is a stroke patient. We have seen a huge difference in his personality. He is more outgoing and loves hanging out his friends. There is never a dull moment as there are jammed packed activities throughout the day. He is treated with dignity, respect and receives excellent care. You are always greeted with a smile and hello as you walk into Forestdale, and the facility is always decorated for all seasons & holidays. Beautiful Community!!! I never knew a place like this existed for our seniors or elder parents. They encourage a community relationship for the residents as well as their family members and friends. My mother is thriving from the enrichment of being with her peers and various daily activities and healthy tasty meals rather than just living on her own. These are some of the best people, residents and staff, anyone could want around their loved ones. I was surprised by the exceptional personal attention the residents received by the staff and directors. I didn't know there could be such a place filled with so many kindhearted people. It really choked me up. The staff are personable, sensitive, caring, respectful, patient yet stern when necessary. They are all heart!! I love everyone and everything about this place, and my mother does as well. And I am comfortable knowing my mother is around fantastically good people and safe. Good People!! To be clear I Highly Recommend Forestdale Park. I don't think I could have found a better place for my mom.

My mom moved into Forestdale Park just over one year ago.The process from when we first visited and showed interest, to the day she moved in, was handled with the utmost respect and dignity. She has been warmly welcomed by both staff and residents alike, feels at home, and has become an integral part of the community She is a very social person and loves all the activities--especially the musical performances several time each week. We recently celebrated her 90th birthday with a big party at Forestdale. So many of the residents and staff attended, which made her feel extra special and so happy. I can't say enough about the high quality personal interactions and genuine warmth we feel from all of the staff. I had to make a quick decision for an assisted living home for my mom. I had been at Forestdale park to visit other residents and they are very close to my home. The level of care and help they have offered from that first phone call to now 9 months later has been incredible. They offer my mom top notch care. They took incredible care of our Mom for 2 years. She was always in great spirits when we visited and was always well fed, clean and comfortable. After searching for about a year to bring my mother from Washington DC to be closer to me and my family in Melrose, we decided on The Forestdale Community. The Forestdale community has made the transition as comforting and welcoming as possible. Mom suffered a stroke prior to her moving here and the attention and care she constantly receives has been wonderful for her. The adjustment was initially hard, but her adjustment was surprisingly fast and she now feels comfortable and safe in her new home. Decorating has been a passion of mom's and she has brought this with her. She takes pride in her apartment, and she has made it feel like home, abet smaller. We all love visiting her in her new "home". The apartment has high ceilings and large windows making it bright and airy which is very important to her and surprisingly hard to find. The many activities Forestdale offers from art and exercise classes, to poetry readings, to monthly country/cultural studies and a garden club just to name a few, keep her interests stimulated while building friendships and community. The staff as a whole are attentive and kind. The facility is small enough to feel homey and not overwhelming and the food is very good. There are many outdoor spaces to enjoy the good weather. Moving to an assisted living community is a pretty traumatic event for the whole family and the Forestdale community has made us feel that we made the right decision and picked the right community.

It is hard to trust anyone with the health and safety of your family. When that family member is ailing, vulnerable, and reeling from a relocation from Florida, it gets even harder. It took me about a month...But over the last year and a half, I never regretted trusting the staff of Forestdale with my mother's care. While I could go on and on about the quality of its dining, the variety of its social/cultural programs, or comfort of its accommodations; the ultimate measure of an assisted living facility is the compassion it shows for its residents. Through a major stroke, a lingering pandemic, and a half dozen other minor crises, the staff of Forestdale's kindness and patience never wavered. Even at the end, with my mother's body failing and my heart breaking, I never worried about her care. It is a comfort I will always be grateful for.

Hi Debbie. The link is below. thank you My aunt and uncle moved into Forestdale Park on January 26, 2019. This was the best decision they could have made! They fell in love with their new home “ a very spacious two-bedroom, two bath apartment with a private entrance. But what was most important to them was that they became part of a new family. They took such pleasure participating in all the activities. My aunt even started a couple of new activities herself - she looked forward to her weekly UNO club! They loved the parties - and Forestdale had some good ones! My Aunt Helene was famous for her Baklava - staff and residents loved when she arrived to a party with a fresh pan of it. She even led one of their culinary clubs showing residents how to make it - she was so proud of it! My uncle had some memory issues and when my aunt had to spend a few days at the hospital the entire Forestdale family wrapped their arms around Jack. It gave my aunt such comfort knowing that he was being taking care of, so she could take care of herself. If you are looking for a community with wonderful residents that care for each other and a staff that is involved in helping you out with any and all issues, Forestdale is the place for you. The love that surrounds this community is like nothing I have ever seen before. If you're searching for the best place for your loved one, look no further than Foresdale!

My uncle moved in last September to Forestdale Park. He absolutely loves it and my family could not be any happier. He is a stroke patient and was to a point that he could no longer live alone and needed some assistance with everyday routines. Terri, Sarah, Desiree, Michelle, Eric Leah, Denise, Lisa and the rest of the staff are phenomenal and have gone out of their way to accommodate his needs. We have seen a significant change in him in such a short time now that he is able to interact with others on a daily basis. His apartment is spacious and full of natural light to give it a warm feeling. The community of residents are welcoming and he has made many new friends in such a short time. Even though we only live a few minutes away, its peace of mind knowing there are so many caring professionals able to give him the level of care. He is always looking forward to what the next meal is and who will be coming in to play music. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for care for their loved ones.

My mother moved into Forestdale in November 2021. My family has been so impressed with the great care she is receiving there. We looked at a few places before we found Forestdale and from the minute we walked in the door we knew we loved it. Terri and Sarah are amazing to work with. The whole place is run beautifully and it is immaculate. The staff are wonderful. Everyone actually knows the resident’s names. We have yet to meet a staff member who is not super helpful and pleasant. My mother is happy and content there. She says the meals are excellent and she loves the activities of which there is a full schedule every month. I believe there is live music up to three times a week. I cannot say enough good things about this place. We are so happy to have found it.

My mother-in-law moved into Forestdale Park about 6 months ago. She is am Alzheimer’s patient and needs more attention than some other residents. I don’t think our experience could be any better. Every member of the staff has been friendly, knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and helpful. The dining options are exceptional. Lunch and dinner come with two entr©e options with soup or salad and dessert. If a resident wishes to have something different the flip side of the menu offers the catch of the day, burgers, deli sandwiches and salads. The staff has multiple ways to keep families informed about FP happenings. There is a great social media presence with multiple postings per week. There is a monthly newsletter detailing events and introducing new residents. There is a group text where things like COVID updates are sent to family members. The activities and entertainment options are simply beyond our initial expectations. There are multiple options every day. There are frequent visits by musicians. Holidays are celebrated with food demonstrations and crafts activities. Every month, a different culture is celebrated with music, crafts, food, and discussion. The staff also schedules offsite visits to restaurants and stores. Other group activities include bingo, wine tasting, movies, and exercise sessions. I have frequently observed residents working together on jigsaw puzzles. I would like to share one story which epitomizes the caring and attentive nature of the staff. Her doctor mentioned that Alzheimer patients tend to want to be loners and are satisfied with sitting in their apartments by themselves. I brought this to the attention of the staff. I asked them to encourage her to attend the activities. The response has been spectacular. It seems that someone is coming to get her for almost every activity. We have seen a dramatic increase in her attendance at these events.

My mother moved to Forestdale Park three weeks ago. She loves it and we can not be happier. The building is beautiful and kept immaculate. My mom’s studio apartment is spacious and very modern. The most important thing is the caring staff. Terri and Sarah the directors were so helpful and kind with arranging my mom’s move. The food is fabulous!!! Lisa the chef is amazing . She spends time talking to mom about nutrition and healthy eating. The waitstaff are kind, quick and efficient. After shopping in two states for a place for Mom, I picked Forestdale Park. I live out of state and have tried to find a community closer to me b but I can't find a place that is even equal to Forestdale! This is one special assisted living community!! My mother has been living at Forestdale since it opened, three years ago. My brother and I have been so happy with the level of care, support and love she receives from the entire staff! Her apartment is beautiful, bright and spacious. She loves sharing the dining experience in the farm to table restaurant with the residents. The food is excellent and extremely healthy. She has made so many friends here! There are so many reasons to recommend this community. From cleanliness to professional staff engagement, the standards set by the leadership are high and maintained. The ED always has an open door policy with residents and family and the nursing staff is so responsive. The activities director arranged for her to receive a "LifeTime Achievement Award" where she was able to showcase her artwork and talk about her life. It meant so much to our family! If you take a tour, please say hello to Viola as she is always out and busy with activities, enjoying her day. She was the first resident to move into Forestdale Park and the staff all refer to her as "our number one." You will be happy you toured Forestdale - there is something special you feel as soon as you walk in the door, from Kati, at the front desk, from the staff and directors, and from all the exceptional residents you will meet along the way! A year and a half ago, I began my search for an assisted living facility for my mom. I toured several different facilities, but none of them felt good enough for my mom. When I toured Forestdale, I knew almost immediately that this place had what I was looking for. I wanted a place that was clean, well maintained and nurturing. I wanted staff caring for my mom who would see her as a person of value, despite her aging body and mind. I wanted staff who would be receptive and open to me reaching out to them when my mother needed something. I found all these things at Forestdale Park Senior Living. Forestdale hires exceptional people to work for them. My mother did not want to leave her home but she knew she needed to. The staff assured me that she would adjust...that she would gain weight...that she would participate in activities...and that she would flourish...and they were 100% right! My mother sings the praises of the staff to everyone she talks to. My siblings and I all agree choosing Forestdale was one of the best decisions we've ever made. My grandmother is a resident here and loves living at Forestdale. Everytime I visit they have diffrent form of entertainment scheduled for the day. I have had lunch with my grandmother 3 times and the food they serve is delicious and on par with a fine dining restaurant. Too much information to discuss here but talk to the director and support staff. Go see the facility, it's beautiful. Talk to residents and families as well.Tour and compare other facilities. Do research around assisted livings and memory care units. When you do your own research and understand the industry and what is involved you will understand why this place is different. They hold themselves to higher standards.That is what makes this place special. The level of care, empathy, love and compassion made it the right choice for our family. This place has been a blessing for what is the most difficult decision for many families. I would highly recommend their care for your loved one.
