Reviews NewBridge on the Charles

All the senior citizens age very kind and have friendly camaraderie. Also, the food is EXCELLENT. My grandfather has been there for a few years and was dad to let go of his own house, but he's befriended his fellow residents and people in the compassionate staff. He seems really happy and we'll cared for, and it's much better than him living alone in his old house.

Welcoming facility, with clear COVID protocols.

I love working at Newbridge..The residents and the staff are great, most of them at least, I wish I could work there permanently but its okay. The time is spend working there is good enough and the walking paths are exceptional. Family and Friends, if you choose Newbridge, you will not regret it.

Our dear 95 year old Aunt was recently at NewBridge on the Charles for Rehab. She was there almost two weeks, and was very happy with the entire Staff. She has been in at least 4 others in the past 3 years, and my husband and I have never experienced such an excellent response from EVERYONE and the superb care she received. We were contacted regularly on her condition, and what could be done moving forward. We thank you all so much for your hard work, dedication and support of our dear, loving Aunt! You went above and beyond any others that we have ever worked with! NewBridge on the Charles is the place to be for whatever your needs are!

Amazing place

My mother lived in Memory Assisted Living at Newbridge on the Charles for three years and sadly passed away in May from advanced Alzheimers Disease. While there, she had such a positive experience in so many ways but Id like to particularly express my thanks and gratitude to the Expressive Therapies Program led by the wonderful Leticia Prieto Alvarez. Leticia and her fellow therapists provide a myriad of opportunities for artistic and emotional expression, bringing pleasure and joy to each and every resident on a daily basis. With extraordinary empathy and sensitivity, they establish a caring community where sharing stories and memories is encouraged and supported via expressive therapies, such as singing, dancing, and theater. Life long learning is a hallmark of Hebrew Senior Life and Newbridge on the Charles and providing programs such as this is a prominent example.

My mother has been living in Memory Care at NewBridge. She has been suffering from severe Alzheimers for several years and finally, our family decided she needed more care than we could provide. While one of the hardest decisions weve ever made, it was truly one of the best. The care and love from the entire team at this place is superlative. Having been through the Covid pandemic and not being able to see her, they went to incredible lengths not only to keep her safe and the Memory Care disease free, they spared nothing to make sure each resident was getting the human attention and contact they need. They would set up Zoom calls and hold their phones while our family would try to reach my mother in quarantine. They would hold her hand and be a human conduit to me and my family. It moves me deeply to think of how much each person, each nurse, each art therapist, each assistant, gave in our absence. I would have written this before Covid, but in this extreme situation, the place revealed its truest colors. We remain feeling grateful and fortunate.

My brothers and I are so very glad that we moved our mother, who has dementia, to NewBridges Memory Supported Assisted Living. From the moment we first visited, we knew it was a human-centered environment, where each resident is treated with respect, care, and joy. While move-in day was wrenching for us, we were confident that the skilled professionals would make the transition as smooth as possible for Mom. And they did. She participated in activities throughout her first days but also had the freedom to recuperate with some down-time in her room when she wanted and needed. That has continued. When the pandemic necessitated an end to regular visits, the staff kept us informed of changes in activities and how they were all adapting to the new normal. Of course, we missed being able to visit, but we were able to see Mom via several video visits each week. Knowing that she was safe, engaged, and well cared for by a team of skilled professionals was an enormous comfort.

Beautiful place in very heart of Needham.

I would like to focus on how wonderful Newbridge on the Charles has been during the Covid-18 pandemic. We live in independent living, where we have our own apartment and multiple facilities for dining, exercising and entertainment. During the pandemic, meals, mail, library books, amazon packages and groceries have been delivered to our door. In addition, our internal television station has provided us with daily lectures, movies, music, and fitness classes. The management of NewBridge has kept us safe and secure, while ensuring that we are also entertained and active.

Independent Living at NewBridge has given me the opportunity to participate in so many aspects of living well. I am active in various committees and take advantage of the many programs that are offered on a daily basis. I am grateful for the many friends here who walk with me on this journey. It was a good decision to move here.

This week my wife and I are starting our 12th year at the Independent living facility at NewBridge on the Charles. We came, shortly after the facility opened, from Long Island NY and knew nobody here. It was among the best decisions weve ever made. NBOC offers everything one would want and Administration managed all the challenges that Covid 19 presented without a single case positive case.

My husband had an outstanding experience at Newbridge on the Charles, compassionate care and excellent therapists. He enjoyed the food too.

This is the second time my mom has had to stay at their rehab facility. The grounds are beautiful and the facilities are clean. The nurses and the majority of the staff are very caring and pleasant.

A wonderful assisted living facility. Everyone is incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and kind, lots of activities for residents, and the facility and grounds are beautiful too. Highly recommended!

I cannot say enough good things about this Rehab! I was there for 18 days to begin the long term healing for my diabetic foot wound. I came to the Rehab with a wound vac and a very painful wound. All of the staff were amazing, especially the nurses and CNAs who were patient and compassionate. You could tell that this was a place where people enjoyed working. The atmosphere was caring and so refreshing! Delicious food was an added bonus! If you need a medical Rehab, this is the place where you want to go!

My dad moved in from another nursing home where his care was poor at best. He has his full faculties (good mind, broken body) and says Newbridge is so much better and he is so pleased. He likes many of the staff, they keep him clean and as comfortable as possible. He says the food is great with a lot of variety (except he says too much fish ha ha). But they will even make him a chicken salad sandwich if he does not like the menu. So in light of the many good things he says I give it 5 stars just to have a happy father. Having a sharp mind and a broken body is a curse, but they make him feel like a person, and not treat him like he is worthless.

Wonderful, caring staff, clean, good food.

I was a rehab patient at Newbridge after spinal surgery in 2016. I am a practicing physician certified in geriatrics and have been medical director at similar units. Newbridge is relatively new and well maintained. The care is excellent in terms of skill and compassion. Newbridge has the advantage of not having to produce profit for stockholders. In fact it has endowment monies. I was in rehab for 10 days before discharge home I required minimal services at home since I could ambulate for 45 minutes at a time I was back at my medical practice in about 6 weeks after surgery

I work here and love this place! People are so nice and they keep the residents engaged with lots of activities!
