Reviews Charter Senior Living of Danvers

My mom moved into Charter of Danvers in January, and she has gone on shopping, scenic drives. She talks about the activity staff and sys she loves them to pieces. I have visited many times, and I see how engaged all the residents are, the girl that works Saturday is always moving around. When there is happy hour on Saturdays, she has music playing, Shes talking to the residents and making them drinks and passing out cheese and crackers.

Such a beautiful community from the moment you arrive. The outside is spectacular! Inside the spaces are incredible and I know they are going to be doing a renovation soon it's only going to make charter need six stars for a review! I would not hesitate to place a loved one at this beautiful community Stop by and take a tour. The sales directors are so knowledgeable and kind.

My mom has been living in the Flourish memory care wing at Charter for about a year and a half. I am so happy I decided on this facility when looking for a new home for my mother. Cheryl, the memory care manager, has done an amazing job making sure my mom is well taken care of, feels safe, and is staying active with a day to day schedule of activities including….daily exercise, cognitive games, crafts, baking, and the occasional field trip! Cheryl and her staff treat my mom with patience, respect, dignity, and kindness. They have taken the time to learn my mom's interests and what brings her joy (in her case it is music and singing-they have weekly live musicians and Cheryl even started a memory care choir-which my mom loves!!!). There is an open and honest line of communication whenever I have a question or concern. Navigating a dementia diagnosis of a loved one is challenging, and Cheryl has been a wealth of knowledge. I would highly recommend Charter for your loved one if you are looking for a memory care facility.

The Linden at Danvers has given our mother a warm, caring and vibrant life as she ages. We are grateful for the positive reviews and friend's recommendation. Moving our mother to the Linden was an easy decision to make after taking a tour and meeting the staff.

My brother moved in almost a year ago. It was a very difficult decision but now that he has been there it was absolutely the right decision. He has staff around 24 hours a day to assist with activities of daily living , meals in the dining room, different activities every day which includes entertainment, games, lectures, crafts. Socialization is the main part of living here. Staff is excellent and very caring.

Absolutely recommend this facility. My mom has been in the memory care unit for 2 years. The whole staff has been amazing. They are caring, friendly and go out of their way to make sure my moms needs were provided. My family will miss all of you. Thank you for the excellent services with your own personal hugs!

We moved my mother into The Linden about a month ago and my family and I have been very impressed so far. The facility is spotless and they always have fun daily activities scheduled. She started out in AL, but we soon found that she would do better in The Memory Care unit. They have made the transition very smooth for my mom and do a great job at calming her nerves and making her feel safe when she gets anxious. I cannot say enough kind things about the entire staff there. You can really tell they all take pride in their work and treat the residents with kindness, compassion, and respect. There has been a clear line of communication from the beginning and management will quickly respond to any questions/concerns I might have. I feel very grateful knowing my mom is safe and in such good hands. I would highly recommend The Linden if you are looking for assisted living or memory care for your loved one.
October 2022
My mother has lived at The Linden in Danvers for more than 3 years. She is very happy there and participates in the numerous and varied activities. The staff is very caring and enthusiastic. I would highly recommend The Linden to anyone seeking an Assisted Living facility for a family member.

I would like to express my appreciation for all the care and help my mom receives at The Linden at Danvers. They are respectful of my mom's wishes for her independence, but also encouraging her to accept help when she needs it. All of the staff deserves recognition for always going the extra mile to assure all the residents are well taken care of. Everyone is welcoming, friendly and helpful from the time I walk in the front door for a visit, to the professional nursing care, the administration, maintenance and dining hall staff. Thank you

We have been very pleased with the care our mom is receiving at the Linden. The staff is extremely warm and caring. They have been very helpful in solving any isues that arise. We have no reservations about highly recommending The Linden at Danvers
October 2022
My sister has been a resident of the Linden at Danvers since May of 2022. She moved there after the previous assisted living center where she lived announced it was closing and she had only 3 months to find a new residence. Fortunately, we found the Linden. From the day that she moved into her unit at the Linden, the management team and staff have been very welcoming and supportive. She now talks about how much the Linden "feels like home" to her. This is the 3rd senior living center that she's lived in over the past 10 years. While the other two facilities were fine, this facility is at a whole different level of quality -- in terms of its nursing and caregiving staff, the quality of food and dining, the variety of activities, and its sense of community. Nancy did have a problem with a wall that separated her room from another resident in that she could readily hear noise from the other room. But, after a couple of weeks, the Linden made the necessary repairs and the noise problem no longer exists. Another example of the Linden being responsive to its residents' needs. Our family could not be more pleased with how things have worked out at the Linden, and my sister and we look forward to many more good times to come.

there are not enough stars for the experience we had getting my mom Phyllis into the Linden. we were planning to move into assisted living, but had to make a truly last-minute change for memory care. literally Wednesday to Thursday based on some late-breaking developments. I was up from San Antonio TX to try and make this all happen in two weeks. it ended up taking three to get it all done, but Jen, Jen, Shane, and Cheryl all made it all happen no matter how many curveballs we were thrown. residents and staff were both asking me if I was working there now by the end of it all, and I truly wish I was. it takes a special someone to truly care for those who are no longer fully abled to care for themselves, and the Linden has a whole bunch of special someones. shout out to "A Place for Mom" for hooking us up, but I knew I had a winner from speaking with Jen French before I even left Texas. we hit our original move-in date upon mom's discharge from rehab, and I spent the last week fine-tuning her transition into her new environment. I made friends at the dinner table there, and participated in the "coffee mutiny" at the breakfast table. lack of caffeination knows no age limits apparently. but the coffee arrived, and the world was saved; I may be the only one who remembers it, but it will be a fond memory indeed. 11-month update; visited with mom for a week to cover two doctor's visits and some legal paperwork. she's gained 18 lbs, which was sorely needed, and definitely living her best life. Cheryl invited the Riverside Squares square dance club out to give a demonstration; my mom was their First Lady several times, and folks at the club still remember her and my dad. I suspect that she cheats at Bingo, but we had an absolute blast at the Equine Therapy program Cheryl set up at Windrush Farm in North Andover! I got to ride out to the farm on the bus, and my mom groomed and curried Willa, a very sweet rescued Haflinger, then we had pizza. While we did put 500 miles on the rental car, breakfast with my mom and Susan at the Linden was the best part of the day. Susan met my mom through her upstairs neighbor in Salem in the early 1940s, and they are now besties at the Linden 13 October 2022 from another survey - when folks say "I can't say enough good things" they usually don't mean it. my mom is absolutely living her best life at 93 free from all of the anxiety she dealt with on a daily basis trying to stay in her home. she may not remember what she had for breakfast, but she knows that she is safe, and Cheryl will help her find her Chapstick!

A very friendly and caring environment with highly motivated and professional staff. Meals are excellent with great variety and many activities throughout the week. I strongly recommend The Linden at Danvers.

This review is for Shane Thomas the Sales Manager. She is AMAZING! Full of positivity! She has helped coordinate a transition for my relative from rehabilitation to respite. Since my loved one was in the hospital early March, Shane has kept in contact and checked on how she was doing. When we shared sad news and thought the outlook was poor she continued to keep in contact. We were so impressed with how on top of the process she is. We are looking forward to this period of healing. Highly recommend.

I would like to share the wonderful experience I have just had as I referred a friend and his family to the Memory Care unit at The Linden. I was so overwhelmed with the quick response, positive support, and informed exchanges I had with everyone there. We are all reassured that he will receive outstanding care there that goes beyond our expectations.
December 2020
We researched numerous (non denominational) assisted living campus in the North Shore area for my elderly parents. No facility is perfect, as this is a transition in life that no one truly wishes for. My father had dementia and needed memory care; my mother needed assisted living and some respite dealing my fathers failing mental health. The Linden (Brookdale at the time) served as a great option. She had her own assisted living apartment upstairs from memory care and could spend as much time as she needed with him. He passed a short while later and mother has been there ever since. The staff and management have been excellent. LeisureCare (aka The Linden) took over management last year and has been great (if not better). Staff and management seamlessly remained in place, which was important for us . They make every effort to create a pleasant and active environment, with daily activities, entertainment, holiday parties, day trips and more. The staff take a true personal interest in the residents and make every effort to make them happy and comfortable. The food (an extremely important criteria) is also well above average (its never home cooking in assisted living, but they do a good job and make every effort to please the residents. We are very, very pleased with the facility.

It have been a tough year to say the least. My 69 year old sister moved up from Connecticut to spend her retirement with me and out family, we were going to have such fun together= and then she was diagnosed with early onset dementia,,,She was not able to live life on her own. Her son and I looked over homes for her and the Linden stood out as being the best place for her, i didnt give five starts because of the Covid...its doubly difficult right now,,,but the staff us wonderful==and she is finally getting nourishing tasty meals..she can have her cat and i can relax knowing shes in good hands...

It is a pleasure to write this review for the Linden at Danvers. Mom has been living there since August of 2019. I wanted to wait to give as much feedback as possible for others considering bringing loved ones here. Many will understand that this can be a very stressful time when having to make the decision to move a parent or family member away from their comfortable surroundings. Let me help make one of the stressful decisions easy, The Linden has changed our lives. Mom was adamant that she was not leaving her home. Understandable having lived in the home my dad built for her. When it became obvious her memory was not what it once was and her safety was at risk we moved quickly to find a safe place for her. After visiting multiple places we decided to bring mom to visit the Linden as it clearly stood above and beyond other places we saw. From the first visit we knew we made the right choice. She was overwhelmed and as we left that day said if she ever did have to move that would be a nice place to go. My family and I met many of the staff on that initial visit, each one as pleasant and friendly as the next. It may cross your mind Are they just laying it on as a front to get you in there. Please ignore that thought! My instincts took over and I just knew this place was different. I could not have been more right. Mom has adjusted incredibly well in such a short time and the reason is simple, the staff is amazing. In 6 months, visiting at least 3 times a week Ive yet to come across a staff member who was not pleasant, helpful and considerate. They all know mom by name and all of her quirks and I can say honestly they enjoy helping her when needed. This includes everyone on the staff. From the folks at the front desk, the folks checking in on her daily, the cleaning staff that roams the halls, the nurses that are onsite, the amazing kitchen-dinning staff right up to the management staff. Ive come to know them all. No place is perfect and yes there were some issues but here is where the staff at The Linden at Danvers stands out and shines. Any issue, big or small was always, and I mean always, immediately addressed. Weve had daily staff help us immediately. Weve had the on call managers show up when warranted and take care of things. There was a serious maintenance issue in the room and Chris (Maintenance Manager) was constantly in contact with me to update us and eventually solve the issue permanently.I hope Michael and all his staff are extremely proud of their facility because they should be. Seeing a loved one being cared for this well creates a domino effect through the whole family. We are in such a better place than we were 7 months ago and its all due to these fabulous people. Please seriously consider The Linden if this tough decision faces your family. Ive recommended them to many folks already and will continue to do so.

Its a pleasure to recommend The Linden after recently transitioning my mother there. The GM and administration are professional and welcoming. The aides are pleasant and courteous. Great variety and tasty menu options. Numerous and engaging activities. Gratefully, my mother received a rapid response from aides and RNs for a choking episode - very reassuring. We waited 10 days to get the schedule for laundry, housekeeping and showering but other than that, its a wonderful community!

My Aunt has been at this facility for several years. The staff I find is courteous, proffessional and exceptional. It is a pleasure to work with them. My father-in-law was also there for years and loved his experience there. I recommend it highly.

My mother, Louise, has been very pleased with Linden for the past 6 years. Its the people who make the place feel llike a home. They have been friendly and kind, attentive and helpful. She is well taken care of. And now with the Covid 19 virus, all of their personal and professional care have made Linden a safe place to be. Thank you so much, Jean

We are extremely pleased with the Linden. My Mom moved from a larger independent community to the Linden a year ago. It was a perfect fit. It offers her the social connections and support she really needs. The staff are amazing. The food is great. They offer all the services you might need while still offering independence. My Mom is always busy with some activity and always comfortable. We know she is safe there. There are plenty of similar residents she connects with as well. After visiting 4 places, I am very glad we decided on this one. During COVID-19 they have met all the challenges and kept everyone safe. They are fantastic and we are so grateful.

My mother and father were both at Linden of Danvers. I can never express enough how much our family appreciated the love and care our parents received there. We were so fortunate to have mom and dad live there. The whole staff, nurses especially, will always hold a huge part in our hearts. We love you and we thank you all. Clark and Iacopino family.

What a gift The Linden at Danvers is. After an extensive search, my family chose The Linden as my mothers new home as her health began to decline and she needed more care. Shes been living there for 8 months now and we couldnt be happier with her care, experience and lovely new friends that shes made. It is a warm, welcoming, caring community that is staffed with the most thoughtful and loving people; and the residents are happy and engaged. My mother loves it there and were so grateful to have found it. If I could give it 10 stars, I would.
February 2020
memory care is a dump - it is filthy dirty - - saw a hangar keeping a door open in someones room = patients are all gathered like cattle in a common area - staff are found eating, on cell phones and even sleeping - no attention being paid to patients. have witnessed dinner being served in dining room - plates are removed before patient is done eating. Saw a patient grabbing something off her plate as it was being wisked away . have witnessed staff stuffing their faces with left over food. all staff - nurses and aides have not an ounce of compassion /caring/empathy/respect for patients -- they somehow forget these patients they ignore - actually pay their salary. have witness staff come behind a patient grab hold and move wheel chair without even telling patient what they are doing-- patient starts yelling and grabbing and staff's comment 'stop yelling and keep you hands in your lap'. management is pathetic, unresponsive to concerns - the fact that they allow the place to be so filthy - they should be embarrased to call themselves leaders . stay away --unfortunately I am not derision maker -- otherwise my loved one would be long gone state should close this place down this is a no star facility

I can not say enough about the care of the staff and management. Right from the first call Shane and Michael were amazing. They help transition my mother during the Covid crisis with incredible work ethic and attention to details. Constantly adjusting to the new procedure while keeping everyone informed. Cheryl put together a visitors sign up calendar and virtual events for family members. This facility is a great choice for food, care and quality of life.

My Uncle is living here. Hes 94 with stage 5 kidney failure. When he first got here he greatly enjoyed all the wonderful activities that Cheryl the activities director put together. Now as his disease progresses and his services increase they take wonderful care of him. Come visit. Sit and talk with the staff. Theyre all great right down to the kitchen staff.

Mom has been at the Linden for a few years and several months ago was moved to Memory Care. Her decline is accelerating and it is sad to watch. The care Mom receives is outstanding. Equally as important is the sincere concern, affection and friendship she enjoys with the staff every day. The all know Mom personally I can see how much she enjoys and trusts everyone. The Linden is a special place. My family has gotten to know everyone who works there and are amazed at their commitment to all the residents and their families. I applaud each and everyone for a job well done...jobs that can be very challenging....yet always done with a smile. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking such good care of Mom. You are my heroes!

My mother has been in the Memory Care unit for over 4 years. The care she receives is outstanding; she is treated with kindness and patience. The staff has been wonderful to work with, and all have been responsive and considerate. The switch from Brookdale to The Linden a few months ago has been as seamless as possible-they did a great job retaining staff and great care continues. I highly recommend the Memory Care unit!
