It is difficult when you have to come to the decision to put a loved one in assisted living. So many questions, so many concerns. The Atrium at Drumhill answered all our questions and made us feel like family. This is a hidden pearl in a sea of facilities we looked into

My wife was a resident at The Atrium for 5 months. The staff could not have treated her with more care and love during her stay. They were wonderful to her and made her stay a most happy experience in spite of her failing memory. And they were wonderfully accommodating to me, her husband and all of her family and friends. I highly recommend The Atrium for your loved one’s care in a most difficult time.

Thank you for the kindness, patience, and care you show my dad each day. You make a real difference in his life and give our family peace of mind. We’re truly grateful for all you do.

This review is long, but please read it to the end as it may very well help you to decide where to place your loved one. My father-in-law has vascular and alcohol related dementia. We placed him is a facility that we thought could accommodate his condition, but after an incident at the facility it became apparent that while this facility was good, it could not meet the more advanced needs of my father-in-law, so we began looking for a facility that offered a more advanced level of care (not skilled nursing facility level, but more advanced than standard assisted living). We wanted to find a place where he could live out his remaining days, however long that would be, where they not only liked him but were trained to accommodate his more advanced needs. Through APlace For Mom, we were introduced to facilities that were part of the Benchmark Standard of care, and in particular, The Atrium at Drum Hill. Now understand, the increased levels of staff traing and care come at a cost, more expensive than standard assisted living., but all these folks only do memory care. The staff goes through training on a regular basis. There are 2 wings to the facility, both memory care with both single resident units and less expansive 2 resident shared units, each wing with its own nurse and staff tending to the residents who reside in that wing. After hours there is always an on-call nurse. The ratio of residents to staff is smaller than a standard assisted living facility (even one with memory care), even at night. They make every effort to engage the residents so that they stay active both mentally and physically. If appropriate they bring in physical and occupational therapists to not only get the resident stronger, but to identify hardware that will help make the resident more comfortable (like in my father-in-law's case a raised toilet seat with handles, a raised shower seat that has handles and pivots, and a wheel chair seat cushion). Anything to help make the residents's stay safer and more comfortable. I would not have known what to buy my father-in-law without these specific recommendations. And a word about the management staff at the Atrium at Drum Hill. The whole management team meets and gets to know your family and helps to make your family member's placement a success, and stays actively involved all through the resident's stay. One more thing, they serve a varied menu of food, so it's not the same thing every day, and the food is both tasty and eye appealing. As I stated in the beginning, the accommodations are more expensive, but worth every penny, especially if you really care about your loved ones care, comfort, and safety. Hope this helps.

My elderly mom & I visit my brother every week and the staff is always very friendly and compassionate. They fill us in on how he has been during the past few days and put us at ease regarding condition. We enjoy our weekly visits thanks to the staff.

Caring staff. Keep the residents involved in activities thoughout the day. Since my aunt came here I have seen such an improvement in her functional status. She really loves being there

My best friend now resides here and I am overwhelmed with the care and understanding of the staff. The food is great and my friend is doing fantastic. The staff here are incredible. I highly recommend The Atrium at Drum Hill.

The staff and management at Atrium go above and beyond! When we moved my sister in, she was lost and agitated, they helped her with love, consideration and dignity. She started socializing, made friends and the staff is always there in such a loving and proactive way to help out, not only my sister, but, myself. The people who work there are always smiling, showing love in so many ways and assuring me that my sister is getting all the assistance she needs with kindness, smiles, hugs and dignity. I will miss the friends she made there and the entire staff.

If you are looking for a Memory Care Facility for a family member, STOP!, LOOK NO FURTHER THAN THE ATRIUM AT DRUM HILL! We know all too well what a difficult decision and process it is on so many different levels when it’s time to move a loved one. Our mom has now been a resident at The Atrium at Drum Hill for over a year now and our mom and we (her children) could not have chosen a more perfect match! On our tour, they spent as much time as needed with us, as we had MANY questions. After touring quite a few times, we spent a lot of time observing the residents, staff and management and the interaction between. They truly lived up to their commitments on how everything and EVERY staff member works together as a team, ensuring all the residents are well cared for and are engaged in their many activities throughout the day! They also have field trips from time to time that all the residents seem to really enjoy! I know our mom especially loves those days! Additionally, they have constant and excellent communication with us. If any issues or concerns arise, we get a call immediately! Here we are over a year later, and our mom is extremely happy and extremely well cared for and is doing fabulous! We cannot express our gratitude enough to the dedication, patience, kindness and professionalism shown to our mom from the ENTIRE staff at The Atrium at Drum Hill! What an OUTSTANDING team and GREAT facility! So, if you’re looking at facilities, we highly suggest you stop into THE ATRIUM AT DRUM HILL! IT WAS AND IS BEST DECISION WE COULD HAVE MADE! FOR ALL OF US! -Sheryl B.

My mom has been a resident of the Atrium for 2 years now and she is getting the best care from their amazing team! Moving my mom was not an easy decision for my sisters and I to make, but seeing the warmth and care the team provided to her and the respect they showed helped us realize we made the right decision and we're doing the best thing for her. She is moving around everyday, doing different activities such as going on outings and they even let her make bread (she been making bread her whole life). I highly recommend the Atrium!!

Finding a safe, caring place for a loved one with a condition under the dementia umbrella is a daunting task. For me, making this decision for my husband was by far the most difficult one I have ever had to make. After several visits to The Atrium I knew this place would be a good fit. All who work and oversee his care are compassionate and empathetic. My family and I are grateful.

A very nice medium sized home where there are enough people to make it social and not too many that new residents get overwhelmed. You should visit and see how carefully they take care of people.

Moving my dad to Atrium at Drum Hill has been the best decision we have made for him during a very difficult time. The entire staff have been so amazing and they have all welcomed us with open arms. We love visiting him multiple times a week and participating with him in the fun activities that are happening. It has been such a relief to my family to know that Dad is in a safe place and he is happy receiving the best care from people who truly care about their residents. My favorite thing is the family atmosphere they provide, everyone is up and out in the main area together sitting with staff or guests visiting. Everyone that works at the Atrium goes above and beyond and we truly appreciate all the care they provide for my dad every day.

A wonderful facility. They offer so much for their residents in a friendly, welcoming environment. I give an A plus to administration MB and her staff. I am so glad we were able to find this excellent home for our loved ones. Thanks for all that you do!

The Atrium is a wonderful place. The staff are so caring and make my Mom feel safe. I found the Atrium when I needed respite care for my mom while I was on vacation. I felt comfortable and able to relax knowing she was well cared for. Mom currently goes in twice a week for the day and loves it. She enjoys seeing staff and residents weekly.
August 2022
Been happy with the services The Atrium at Drum Hill has been able to provide for my mother since she's been there. They are great at making adjustments as needed. Having a family member with Alzheimer's is difficult and they make things easier.
August 2022
My Mom lived at the Atrium at Drum Hill for more than five years. She passed away last October. She had Alzheimer’s and or vascular dementia that progressed from relatively mild to pretty debilitating during those five years. During all that time the staff at the Atrium treated her with respect and dignity for which she and I were always grateful. At the same time my Mom was at the Atrium I was also caring for my wife who has Alzheimer’s. Her condition has also progressed during those five years the Atrium was helping me with my Mom. I had my wife in a day care program and after I would drop her off, I’d visit with my Mom. I’d watch how the staff would care for the residents and how they handled difficult situations. I was grateful for the examples and tips I learned from them and I did my best to put in to practice at home with my Wife. I was quite lucky in that respect. While the illness progressed in my Mom, it also progressed in my wife. After my Mom passed away, the toll of 24/7 care for my wife became too difficult for just me alone. My wife had entered the Atrium Day Care program the year before with good results. But this illness is just so cruel. The time had come for her to have full time care I could not provide. My experience and confidence in the staff of the Atrium made it an easy call to move my wife in this past April. She has been there since. I have not been disappointed The staff has shown my wife the same great respect and care as they did for my Mom. And my wife is a much more difficult case to handle than my Mom was. I whole hardily recommend the Atrium if you are struggling with a loved one suffering from dementia. And I more than willing to answer or share any of my thoughts.
August 2022
The Atrium staff have been nothing but amazing to my family. Moving my dad in was not an easy decision and helped assure us he would be safe. The facility is clean and the rooms are nice. I like how my father has his own space when he needs some time alone. We all love the courtyard where he can assist with the flowers. The staff have been so flexible with letting the family dog visit consistently as well. I am so happy we chose this facility! -Michaela Pigeon

The Atrium at Drum Hill is an exceptional place with an exceptional staff that takes amazing care of the residents.
August 2022
My Dad has been at The Atrium for just over a year. Since his first days, Michelle and her staff have done everything they can, and more, to make my Dad feel as comfortable and active as possible, while also providing memory care and medication assistance. I find the staff to be extremely cooperative and friendly each time I go to visit; and they are very responsive to any concerns and issues that arise. I also like the fact that The Atrium has a smaller, more family orientated building which allows for a more personal experience for both residents and family.
August 2022
Moving my mother into assisted living was not an easy decision. We looked at a number of faculties and the staff at the Atrium from the start of the process treated us like family!! They are attentive to all her needs and more importantly... they care! That is very obvious due to all the "little" things they do which are far to many to list!!
August 2022
My mom spent the last four months of her life here. I wish she joined this family sooner. I highly recommend this facility. The high energy of the staff was contagious, from reception and maintenance to nursing and administration. Each time I walked into the Atrium at Drum Hill everyone was busy with activities; bingo, broom ball, yoga, singing and so much more. My mom was stimulated all day and it was so nice to see her happy. I enjoyed participating in the activities and games with my mom when I visited. An A+ facility.
June 2021
My mom lost her husband, my Dad, which they lived at another assisted living facility. She has many health issues, strokes which has left her with dementia, and Alzheimer's.. She was consumed with helping dad, not leaving her apartment and was quiet, not wanting to have conversation with anyone or participate in any activities. She wouldnt shower and fought us daily over the phone about taking her medication. At the Atrium Drum Hill Benchmark She leaves her room at 7am and comes back at 8pm. She is so busy with activities and care is nothing short of amazing. The moment she arrived ,welcomed with all her favorite things , The Atrium made happen for her! The employees, maintenance, and all the program directors have given my mom her life back 🙂

My family member has been a resident of the Atrium at Drum Hill for greater than 5 years. She is safe, happy, and well cared for by the staff. Her beautiful private room overlooks a wonderful grassy and treed area that is well kept up. The kitchen knows her preferences well and will spoil her with morning cocoa and plenty of seafood options (as she prefers)! The care staff show love and attention, particularly important and appreciated in these times of Covid. Keeping residents healthy and well cared for is their priority.
October 2020
My mother is a current resident; been there for about a month. The staff have been wonderful to work with. I needed to find a place for her very quickly, and they were extremely helpful and responsive. Although COVID has changed the normal activities and procedures, from what I've been told, she has settled in now and is looking healthier and better rested than she has for many months. They do still have daily/weekly activities to engage with the residents,, though scaled down due to COVID, and a recent video texted to me of her singing and "dancing" was nice to see. She's enjoying the attention, like having her nails and hair done, and many of the staff have been very kind to her, above and beyond expectations. She has commented that the food good, and she was a picky eater, and the meals I have seen look nutritious and varied. One specific comment is the meat is always very good. I'm grateful to the team for their support, and I am confident I made the best decision for her, based on her condition and needs. Thanks team ; )
