Brookdale Lake Charles was an answer to prayer for our family. When you notice that your loved one is no longer able to live by themselves but extremely hesitant about making a change. The staff at Brookdale welcomed us with open arms and make our loved one feel so special. There is such a wide variety of activities for the residents. The residents absolutely love it when they know there is music coming, it may be an "Elvis" impersonator, a Ladies choir from a local church, maybe a Country Western singer. They love it all. There is a salon , Housekeeping is taken care of and they enjoy their meals in the dining room, where they are able to interact with other residents and make new friends. Mostly, we love the fact that the staff really cares.

My dad started in the Assisted Living side and has since moved to Dementia Care. It was wonderful to make an easy transition. Both sides are maintained well, everyone is friendly and helpful. They joke with my dad and make him feel very comfortable. A lot of issues can come up on the dementia side and everyone has been understanding, helpful and answer my questions and concerns. My dad is very concerned about cleanliness and often comments on how well they cleaned his unit. We could have moved to a newer facility but we love Brookdale Assisted Living in Lake Charles.

My Mother has been a resident at Brookdale for about a year now. She seems to be happy there and I enjoy visiting her there. She also enjoys the activities, although shes not much on the field trips. She has trouble with her speech and doesnt hear well. I wish there were more activities that she could enjoy but I realize she is limited in what she can do. Thank you to the staff for providing her a safe and comfortable environment. I love the residents as well.

My mother just made a year as a resident. She is so happy and has made some great friends. Piece of mind for my brother and me. I have never walked in the door and had any doubt of my mother being safe. (of course she would be the first to make sure it was corrected) Thank you Brookdale❤

Love this place! My Dad has been a resident at Brookdale Lake Charles since 2017 and I couldnt be happier! I am out of state and take comfort in knowing that he is safe and well cared for. He enjoys all of the benefits the community offers, especially the field trips. The staff has been exceptional with responding to my questions and assisting me and my Dad with anything that may arise. I am grateful to have the good people at Brookdale Lake Charles watching over my Dad and highly recommend this community.

Can't say enough good things about how much the activities and resident engagement has improved. But most importantly the staff's care and love they have for the residents is real. And then on top of all this, the remodel and update to the facility makes it warm and inviting. Thank all of you for taking such good care of my family member.

In the past year we have seen some amazing changes occur at Brookdale. As someone stated earlier Mr. Randy Stelly has done a great job in assembling his team. The food here has definitely improved. Can't say enough good things about how much the activities and resident engagement has improved. But most importantly the staff's care and love they have for the residents is real. And then on top of all this, the remodel and update to the facility makes it warm and inviting. If I were in Mr. Stelly's position, I would be concerned about other facilities trying to lure away his team members.

In January of 2016 I wrote a post that was very negative regarding the Brookdale buy out of Emeritus. And I don't regret posting it, we as family members went through a lot of worry about the care of our loved ones. In December of 2016 a true miracle took place. Mr Randy Stelly took over as director and he has put the right kind of staff in place. This man knows what he's doing!! Treating employees with respect and letting them know that they are appreciated for all the hard work and care for those especially in the Clairebridge unit has made all the difference in the world. Mom is in heaven now since September 29, 2017 and I'm going to miss everyone dearly. Take notice Brookdale Corporate office!! You have a real gem here and you'll never find another one like Mr Stelly.

Since having her there, the staff has gone above and beyond to make her feel welcome, as well as or family. She has recently been diagnosed with singles. All of the staff has been so helpful with this but especially Jeremy Fontenot, Rebecca Scott and Tapestry. Their genuine care and concern for mama has meant the world to me. Thank you to them and all the staff for all that you do.
