My loved one has been in Memory Care at Brookdale Overland Park for over a year. I am there daily. I'm happy with his care and appreciate the dedication of the entire staff who work with him. The bonds they form with residents are caring, friendly, and apparent. I appreciate that the staff and I are able to communicate well about my loved one's care. Should concerns arise, the staff is very responsive, especially Olivia, the Wellness Director, Rachel, the Assisted Living Director, the Nurse on duty, and Hassan, who keeps residents feeling included and involved with stimulating activities. After initially visiting 5 other facilities, I chose Brookdale because it felt more friendly, with a warmer home-like environment than other places. The activities room, living room, and other areas are all open with very few walls so staff can easily monitor residents' whereabouts which is also important to me. Ever since Covid, there have been occasional staff shortages at facilities everywhere, which is a concern at times.

During my recent two month stay in rehab, I was impressed to see the caliber of good care and thoughtful staff. My regular nurses, Rachel, Janet, Peter and Kim, plus CNA Lantana made up my A Team! They were all great! And my Social Worker, Chelsey, bent over backwards to try to accommodate all my changing health changes! The Therapy Team made exercise fun…and exercise is not my favorite pass time!! Special thanks to Amy, Korie, Janie, Pam, Allison, Connie, Robin, Sarah and Joel for all you did to try to help me retain strength and balance! Nursing Director, Andralie Davison and Director Kim Ellis have improved this facility consistently over the past five years that either my husband or I have been patients here. If I’ve forgotten anyone, I apologize….you all treated me with the utmost care and kindness! Thank you!

I really want to thank my representative at Brookdale, Kevin Kabrey. During one of the most difficult, stressful times of my life he helped me make the decision to go with Brookdale. He was honest, listened to my problems and guided me through the procedures and benefits at Brookdale. Im grateful to have someone help instead just creating more roadblocks at a time like this. I work in Programs at Brookdale Overland Park and have been with Brookdale for several years. Brookdale Overland Park is a place where I would want my loved ones to be taken care of. The staff is kind and loving and provides thorough care to their patients. The community is clean, laundry is done every day, and there are multiple delicious food options for patients and staff to choose from. There are also fun daily scheduled activities every day with programs such as exercises, music entertainment, and outings.

My stay here was wonderful -better than my expectations! I was told on the phone that Brookdale Overland Park would be the place to meet my needs for rehab, and they were right! I live in Missouri and had to call several places from a list to find my rehab.My therapy was great and I am glad to have Home Heath when I get home. The food was excellent (they worked with my diet), and the care I received was excellent! I will be singing your praises and recommending you to everyone. I am relieved if I need a place again I will be able to choose you here. All the staff were so sweet and so very helpful to me. Everything is kept so clean. A big thank you to all of you who provided my care. I appreciated my window and the view.

Everyone was super friendly. Clean and helpful but in the guest bathroom by the front they have single ply toilet paper! Really? So minor yet left an impression. Place is more $ per day than I make in two weeks. Staff remember its the guest that often are paying the bills. Pop corn is a nice touch but invest 45 cents to upgrade a ply 🙂

My family is happy with the care my mom receives in Clare Bridge Memory Care at Brookdale OP. The Activity Director, Hassan Hadjian, is our #1 reason for the five-star rating. He cares about each resident and family. He plans activities at the facility and outside the facility (Arboretum, scenic drives, lunches, etc.). Weve had a resident there for 2.5 years and the management and staff are always improving care.

I have stayed at this facility multiple times. I love the therapy team. Therapy is why I keep coming back. Connie and Robin keep me laughing which makes therapy fun. The activities for residents are great. Mix and mingle is one of my favorite activities because I get to meet new people and hear their stories. This place has such a great atmosphere.

I think this is a top notch assisted living location. They are all very compassionate and good at their assignments. The fact that they are pet friendly is a big plus. My stay has been awesome. The nurses have been great; when I had a tough day, one nurse sat with me for 30 minutes to help me feel better and that made such a difference for me. I have not encountered anyone who hasnt been great. Just awesome.

I hope you read this full review before you make the same mistake I made when choosing a Senior Living Facility for your loved one. The staff at this particular Brookdale Assisted Living facility from the Executive Director, Assisted Living Director, Director of Finance, Health and Wellness Director, Health and Wellness Coordinators, PT, OT and Brookdale Home Health Director, maintenance workers to housekeepers live and breathe the culture and mission of Brookdale Senior Living. I am so grateful for the staffs commitment to the quality of care my dad is receiving. Their willingness to communicate with me gives me great peace of mind. They have met and exceeded the goals set by the Experts at Brookdale Senior Living corporate office. My dad and I are grateful that he has found a home at Brookdale Overland Park assisted living facility. This past year my dad was in and out of the hospital with eight surgeries, in five different skilled nursing facilities and one assisted living community. March 2019 was our first experience with Brookdale Overland Park skilled nursing, where we discovered a level of care that we had not yet encountered. Only two months after returning to his assisted living facility, he actually gave up and asked for hospice. Their indifference to him and their negligence of his care robbed him not only of his physical well-being but also of his will to live; an unhappy decision for us both. Thats when I put him in his wheelchair and pushed him a short distance to Brookdale Overland Park Assisted Living. The residents welcomed a new face and engaged him in conversation while we waited for Beth. As she was giving us the tour one of the residents was delighted to let us see his apartment. Dad was impressed and wanted his questions answered. Beth answered many of our questions. When we asked about medications, she introduced us to Staci, who explained Brookdales process using Point Click Care. She showed us the process of tracking the meds from dispensing to ordering and how they are stored. It keeps track of physician orders and care of the resident demonstrating that we would never have to worry about his medications being properly administered, overlooked, unavailable, or stolen. The Brookdale protocol eliminates all the deficiencies that were so problematic at his former facility. Beth said she would have Rachel, the Director of Health and Wellness call me for the other questions I had. I was so encouraged to learn of her position as Director of Health and Wellness, rather than merely a Director of Nursing, and I knew then that Brookdales corporate culture was indeed different from all the other facilities I have toured. Rachel called as promised and we went over all the details of Dads care. Then she carefully explained Brookdales policies and procedures and ethical standards set in place at the community for the residents. Rachel was my advocate throughout the whole process of getting dad admitted and becoming a resident in his new home. I live out of town and am therefore unavailable to visit as often as I would like. This amazing staff communicates with me daily on dads needs and care. Whether it be, Lori, Amanda, Elizabeth, Staci, Rachel or Griffin I get either a phone call, a text, or an email. They are my eyes at ground level. It is a great relief to know we are all on the same page when it comes to my dad! Hes ninety-three, an amputee, and has regained his zest for life thanks to the Brookdale staff which is the embodiment of the Brookdale mission statement and culture of excellence. As a former volunteer Ombudsman, I should know what to look for in finding a place for dad. You can research all you want, read the reviews, tour a facility, but unless the corporate mission statement and a culture of excellence is a part of each staff members vocation, the quality of care for your loved one will be deficient. I am grateful to each of the staff members at Brookdale Overland Park. I strongly recommend you take a tour and visit with the residents and the associates of Brookdale Overland Park Assisted Living facility before you make a decision. My father was at Brookdale Overland Park for rehab. I find the community to be clean and well-staffed. He was treated respectfully and any issue he had been resolved quickly. We were kept up to date on all changes in his medications, care. I believe the positive attitude starts at the top and runs throughout this community.

Ive never been to a place that makes you feel like family. Such great staff. The facility is always clean. I love when I enter the community it smells like popcorn. Food isnt the greatest, but they offer alternatives. Wonderful activities, especially music therapy.

This was our fourth facility in 2 months with our dad and it was wonderful. We had been in another Brookdale community and the difference was night and day. Here the staff seemed to like what they do, were very caring with my dad and had him on a great schedule. If there was ever a problem, they did not hesitate to contact the doctor or nurse practitioner. They kept us informed about his condition. I would highly recommend this facility.

The staff is excellent. Maddie, case worker, has been thorough in addressing questions, concerns. Alecia Evans and Marcia at Independent Living (119th St.) have gone above and beyond to assist in establishing a beautiful apartment at a reasonable cost. The social activities have something to appeal to everyone. The rooms are spacious and some rooms are pet friendly. We feel we are getting the best care and value for the money.

The food is too good, I could eat it all day! The therapy team work you hard, but that is what I needed. I love the nurses. They all smile, make me laugh, and care about me. I am going to miss them when I go home.

My father is a resident here in the skilled nursing care section, and he has lived there for over a year. They take great care of him! The staff have gotten to know him and interact with him personally. They have been excellent about getting him to appointments when he needs to see outside doctors. They bring care professionals in for specialty care including a dentist (hygienist, actually), podiatrist, and optician. There are many activities and Dad participates in many of them. He has told me he enjoys them them - bingo, music entertainment (live), happy hour on Thursdays, group games, fitness classes, etc. There are special events for holidays such as Fathers Day Beer Garden, with beer and a German singer with accordion! There was a Mothers day activity too, but I dont remember exactly what that was. Dad likes the meals - good amount of variety and a nice traditional American menu. They spice things up with themes for each month that impact the cuisine and sometimes some of the activities. I could go on and on, but will cut it short for this forum. In sum, in the difficult field of long-term care, this facility really stands out.
