My husband was diagnosed with Frontal Temporal Dementia and Early Onset Alzheimers dementia when he was 53 yrs old. He has declined rapidly, as younger patients do. My husband is a tough case and when he became too violent at home, I had to find a place for him immediately. It was extremely difficult given his behavior and age. I found Brookdale College Square and I thank God every day that he is there. The staff is great and they have a rapport with patients and family members that is effortless and genuine. Dementia is a horrible disease but knowing that my husband is safe and cared for at Brookdale, well, there is no price one could put on that comfort and peace of mind. I highly recommend the facility! It is as good as it gets.

Pamela Luna is a Godsend. Praise The Lord for this wonderful and caring human being. Her compassion and enthusiasm for the residents of Brookedale College Square are a blessing to all. She has helped my sister Kaye Reed to find purpose and peace during her journey. A wonderful caring environment for my mother. The staff goes out of the way to be caring and considerate. With the lockdown due to the pandemic they have helped with a video call weekly so I can communicate with her. Couldnt be happier with the staff and facility. Thanks!

My grandmother has been at Brookdale College square for just over 11 months, and in that time she has blossomed. When I visit, Im struck by the patience and friendliness of the staff, and their knowledge of and commitment to handling memory care with validation and redirection are outstanding. Residents come together for a rich range of community-wide activities, but the smaller streets where the private rooms and family-style dining rooms are located seem to provide my grandmother with an additional sense of comfort and a space of her own. The staff are excellent at communicating with family, and I appreciate receiving regular email updates. Both the management and nursing staff are quick to address any questions in a helpful and thoughtful manner, and the facility itself is impeccably maintained. After my grandmothers Late-onset Alzheimers and Dementia diagnosis in January 2017, we were frustrated by the sometimes inconsiderate care that she received at traditional assisted living and skilled nursing facilities that were not well versed in compassionate memory care. She showed significant signs of depression and, after an extensive search for a better place for her, finding Brookdale was a blessing. Upon her arrival, the staff held a welcome party inspired by her former career as a nurse, and the smile on her face was absolutely priceless. Those smiles are now far more frequent than theyve been in a very long time. As my grandmothers only close family member and caretaker, Im so grateful to have found a home where she feels comfortable and validated, supported by a warm and knowledgeable staff that I can trust.

I love going to Brookdale College Square and seeing the way Pam Luna and Amber interact with the the residents, getting them involved with activities and each other in positive ways. If music is playing, they are encouraged to dance and-or sing along. They are gentle and positive with the residents.

When the time came to find a place for my mom that would better fit her needs, I was so fortunate that her previous home was an assisted living apartment within the Brookdale system. Her move to College Square was urgent. From the moment of first contact Arlin and his staff were amazing and Mother settled in so easily. It was evident that their care is based on respect, kindness and a genuine love of their fellow humans. I am continually amazed with the way the entire staff interacts with the residents, especially Activity Coodinator, Pam Luna. This incredible lady is always giving 110% to the residents with whom she works. She is quick to draw everyone into activities and always has an amazing array of things to do! Daily activities are well planned and impressively interactive. Regardless of how hectic things become, she is methodical, calming and efficient. You can tell she loves her work.

Since moving Mom into Brookdale College Square. I have seen her have many more good days than she was having. The staff has a way about them that makes her want to attend the activities they have instead of just sitting in her room worrying about everything. I have had the opportunity to set in on some of the entertainment and it was fun and informative. I really like how they involve everyone in the room and they seem to know what to say to each person to make them feel special.

The activities director Pamela Luna and her team, Amber and Taylor are the best!!! My Mothers days are filled with activities she can go to that help her mentally and physically at Brookdale. I also enjoy seeing her at the ones that make her feel at home, like cooking and gardening.

Having visited a great many senior living facilities, I was very impressed with Brookdale College Park. I am especially impressed with Pamela Luna and Amber both of whom demonstrate that they really care about the people who are housed at Brookdale and the quality of life those people have. I wish the facility where my sister is a resident in another State had an Activities Director as creative and much fun as Pamela. I truly believe she and Amber both do an exceptional job. Brookdale is fortunate to have two women that do such a fine job representing the facility. They really seem to go above and beyond what would normally be expected.

We moved Mom into Brookdale College Square in January 2019. Her previous Memory Care facility was not living up to their commitment. We didnt know what to expect and figured average to average plus would be a reasonable expectation. We have found that our expectations have been far surpassed. The staff does not miss a beat when it comes to activities, care, cleanliness, record keeping, accountability, safety and keeping the residents happy and with a daily routine. We have nothing negative to say; only appreciation for the peace of mind that we have visiting or leaving Moms place. Weve toured several Memory Care facilities and now with an eye of experience, we can say nothing in the region comes close to Brookdale College Square

Pam Luna and Amber have an excellent rapport with residents. The residents love music. They love to dance. They have an excellent piano music program! Amber and Pam encourage residents to sing and dance. I have the most fun playing piano for the residents at Brookdale College Square!

I am so thankful for Brookdale College Square. We moved my husband in June to Brookdale. I have been very impressed with both the facility and the staff. I have not met a single person here who lacks enthusiasm and care for the patients and the job they are doing. Everyone has been absolutely wonderful to me and to my husband. I was so impressed by the design of the facility. They really understand Alzheimers! His first day here, my husband sat down at a desk with a typewriter, picked up the phone, and thought he was back to work as a newspaper reporter. It takes a special person with an abundance of patience to work with Alzheimers patients. I visit my husband every day . I have found the staff to be so helpful, so respectful, and so wonderful to all the patients here.

From the first day I toured Brookdale, I knew this was the place we needed for my grandmother. Everyone is so helpful and friendly and they truly care about the residents. The biggest thing we worried about was that my grandmother would be alone in her room or not have much to do, but that is never ever the case thanks to Pamela and Amber. They go above and beyond everyday to make sure there are activities geared towards the residents interests and abilities. They make sure the residents feel like they have a purpose and something to look forward to daily. We love Pam and Amber and all they do for their residents!

Brookdale College Square Alzheimers and Dementia Memory Center is a caring family oriented facility. I have been impressed with the gentleness of a very caring professional staff, activities offered to the residents, communication regarding any issues I have are resolved quickly. I have felt from the very beginning of my husbands residency that his care is this facility is their first priority. The food smells good when I push him in his wheelchair to his dining room but I dont eat with him because the room is small. The entire staff at this Brookdale has always made me feel welcome.

Ive been bringing my collie for pet visits with the Activities coordinators for going on 5 years now. Amber and Pam always seem to have a wide variety of activities and keep the residents busy. They go out of their way to include everyone who can participate. They have very compassionate personalities with great senses of humor! I can say from personal experience with my own mom (out of state) and my father-in-law in a couple of assisted living facilities (plus I worked in a care center years ago and have volunteered in many over the years) - very few facilities offer such a wide variety of experiences. They do an exceptional job in this department!

I have spent many days since leaving my employment with College Square trying to think of the right words to describe the community. In the three years I was with Brookdale, it was very evident to me how much so many of those employed there care about the residents. From the district director of operations, to the housekeeper, to the executive director, to maintenance and dining and sales and reception... EVERYONE in the building and in the company keep the residents their top priority. The staff at College Square puts so much heart into what they do. Every resident and every family member of the residents became College Square family. When someone would pass away, there would not be a single person unaffected by it- we would mourn together and then celebrate their life together. College Square has one of the most active memory care programs around, as well. Engagement is SO important in memory care- and the level of involvement in keeping residents active and happy at this community is phenomenal. There are countless volunteers, exercise programs, pet therapy visits and social events that the residents can take part in. I genuinely loved my time at College Square, all of the directors and associates, and, above all, my residents there. If you are looking for a memory care option, you cant go wrong with College Square.

As a former employee, I can say that every associate at Brookdale College Square is devoted to getting to know each resident as an individual. Person-centered care is such a huge focus for every care giver- in-depth Alzheimers and Dementia training focuses on redirection methods and ensuring that every resident living in the building gets to continue doing the things they have always loved. Whats more, the director team is focused on what is RIGHT for the resident and will have an open and honest discussion with prospective families about whether or not College Square would be the right fit. I loved going to work knowing that everyone working was there for more than a paycheck- they were there to enrich lives.

My Mom is getting exceptional care at Brookdale College Square! Everyone is trained to be very understanding with the residents. They dont argue with them, but nicely direct them in the way they need to go. They adjust the care to the changing needs of each resident and stay in contact with me about the any changes. Everyone I have encountered is very friendly--from the Executive Director, activities director and office staff, to the nursing staff, CNAs, and kitchen staff. It is not as close to my house as I would like, but it is well worth the drive!
