My Grandfather stayed here, he was treated very well and was given all the respect. Very happy with the facility and team at Delmar Gardens. The therapy team is fantastic, they work hard and advocate for the patient. As therapists they are very creative in their approach and offer very individualized treatments.

Wonderfully efficient nursing staff and social workers. Glaringly awful, by contrast, is the slop they call food! I have reported it to the ombudsmen, in fact. I doubt my dogs would have eaten what they dump on the plates and heat up halfway, by microwave!! Unfortunately, most patients by the time they are 70 do not seem to know how to advocate for themselves! Nor do their exhausted family members. The phone numbers for advocating are posted all over every care institution in the country folks and I have found helpful, caring people who are happy to get calls that speak volumes for the voiceless. You need not worry about personal retribution for making a report.

My brother-in-laws nursing staff, therapist and nursing assistants took wonderful care of him. I wish I could say the same about the social worker. She got him to sign a document notifying him that his insurance no longer would cover his stay at Delmar. He has had intellectual delays his entire life and does not have the capacity to understand such matters. My wife who is his DPOA and health care POA never received a call or notification, which is required. The only way she found out was by finding a memo on his tray table a day later. When she approached the social worker ,my wife was subjected to rude and unprofessional behavior. Unfortunately when it comes to health care these days, it is a combination of care and administration of insurance. The health care was great but the administration was unprofessional and uncaring.

I moved my mother into Delmar of Lenexa after visiting and talking to several long term care/rehab homes in the area. When my mother arrived, the staff was welcoming and warm and her dinner was ready for her to enjoy. I want to thank Delmar for their kind and attentive staff, good communication and a nice home like environment where residents are happy and friendly. They know they are loved. I am so glad that I chose Delmar of Lexexa. Thank you Rachel and Keaton and your entire staff for all you do and stand for. I truly appreciate all of your assistance and guidance that ultimately made my decision the right one!

My husband was recently at Delmar Gardens Lenexa for an unplanned, 30 day respite stay. I say unplanned because I had to go to the hospital for an emergency heart issue. I was in ICU, then had a Pacemaker implanted. I was not going to be allowed to go home until I found someone or somewhere to place my husband. He has advanced Parkinsons and Dementia and I am his full time caregiver, but I could not take care of him at the time. I am very thankful that Delmar Gardens Lenexa took him in on such short notice. I was able to come home to recuperate, knowing that my husband was well cared for and safe. The staff was very nice and always willing to help with requests, which were hard sometimes because my husband can be difficult to communicate with. In particular, I want to commend nurses Suzie, Linda and Liz and helpers Frazer, Christiana and Mo and Operators Kelly and Milafar and Alicia the Social Worker. I will definitely recommend Delmar Lenexa to my friends. Sandy Schweikert

I truly enjoyed my 7 days at this beautiful place, the staff were very nice and respectful the room I was in could use an upgrade but the bed was very comfortable, the physical therapy staff was hard on me which is what I needed and very sweet, Lucus and Whitney the best! And the food was great and on time, when I get my other knee replacement surgery done next year I don't want to go no where else but this place DelMar Gardens you guys are truly amazing ’™

Unlike reviews on this site, I want to praise the skilled rehab department. My husband and I moved to Assisted Living at Gardens of Lenexa in June. Recent hospitalizations called for rebab for my husband of 62 years. He has been cooperating with his physical therapy and nutritional needs and his recovery has truly been a miracle. He had been diagnosed with rapidly progressing, sever dementia, and has come back to us as a whole person. His memory is still not all it might be, but enough that it is notable and noticeable. His humor is his greatest gift, and perhaps my biggest reason for having been with him since we fell in love those 64 years ago. It’s back. If this is poor care, folks, I beg to differ. Each of us has our own experience and perspective. This is mine. He’s back.

Delmar took great care of my mother for over 8 years, every staff member was great, and treated her with respect and dignity. A special thanks to Karen and Ann the social workers that were always looking out for both my mom's and the families best interests. A lot of great, caring people work at this facility.

When you leave the hospital they arrange transportation for you to their location. However they do not tell you that you will be paying their contracted rate with this company. After I left I received a bill from Delmar Gardens for the 1 1/2 mile trip, the amount was $185. Beware, they do not pay for any transportation.
