My 94 year old mother has been at Rittenhouse for the last 2.5 years. From the very beginning, the staff has been kind, caring, and attentive and they continue to provide quality care for my mother. The administrative staff have always had an open door policy, in which they truly adhere to. They go out of their way to make sure all is going well, and if I have any questions or concerns. Rittenhouse is an excellent facility, with professional, caring and attentive staff. I highly recommend Rittenhouse for quality care if assisted living is needed.

Ritten House has been a great placed for our loved one. The employees have made the difference. They have great compassion and love for their patience. The activity director is creative and keeps games, crafts, events, music and outings lively. It is a nice happen place and pretty good food. When it came time for my wife to enter memory care, we were fortunate that Rittenhouse had an opening as it proved to be the perfect spot for her. The memory care wing is secure from the rest of the building, but the residents have the freedom to move throughout their area and socialize. I'm convinced the staff is comprised of angels! They were all so caring and treated my wife with love and dignity, and have continued to check up on me after her recent passing. It was a difficult decision to move her to memory care, but we couldn't have found a better place! Thank you so much.

My mother-in-law is there for her second year. She enjoys the other people and they are her friends. The staff are very friendly and treat her well. She has a little dog which everyone loves. The courtyard is especially helpful for her dog but is a lovely place for residents in warm weather. We are grateful for the peace of mind knowing she is safe, fed, has her medication and is happy. Rittenhouse was welcoming to my father who is still able to have most of his independence but needed daily check-in's and help making sure he took his medication. The range of assistance combined with the help of the kind staff has helped my father adjust well to his new home. His apartment allows him privacy that he was seeking. Getting together for meals and walking more has provided socialization and exercise that he was needing.

Discovery owned building. I have been here 11 months. I appreciate the longevity of staff and their commitment to serve residents. Staff development practices implemented. Very welcoming families and residents. Executive director has been in place 10 months and implemented several programs for residents.

Rittenhouse is a facility that was recommended to us by a navigator’ we worked with, when we realized that our mother could no longer live on her own”We have been VERY pleased with the decision to choose Rittenhouse, ever since. The friendly, helpful staff, the home-like atmosphere, and the new friends our mother has made during the ongoing activities at the facility has made what was a very difficult choice, much easier and comfortable to live with, as we know she is in good hands’ at all times. Friends and relatives who have visited Mom, have also commented on how well the facility seems to fit her needs(!).

The family and I have found Rittenhouse to be a wonderful home for our sister. They have taken such great care of her and us. My mother moved into Rittenhouse about two years ago. It has been a long two years. She is moving out in a few weeks. The place has changed management numerous times within these two years. The chaos that has ensued has been heartbreaking: - My mother had an iPad stolen from her room, with very little support from the staff to help her find it. - Her laundry has been mixed up with other residents - never to be found again. - Although her doctor indicated that staff was to give her her medication, several months after moving in, a staff member handed her a bottle of her medicine telling her she should take it herself. - For months, her bathroom was infested with ants. - The residents are taken to the library to get books, but then not taken back to the library in time to return the books. - Two times, my mother signed up for a YMCA membership because they were taking the residents there to swim. Both times, within months, they either simply stopped going or stopped going frequently enough to make the cost worth it. I paid for that membership. My mother has dementia and did not alert me to the fact that they had stopped going. There is NO communication between Rittenhouse staff and family. So I found out months later that they were not going to the YMCA anymore, as I continued to pay for a YMCA membership for her. - Rittenhouse stopped supplying residents with paper towel and toilet paper. I was not notified. My mother ran out of toilet paper. When she asked for more, she was told that that's the family's responsibility. (Families cannot know what is their responsibility unless they are told.) - Our bills change every month. When I ask why, I am given answers that don't make sense to me. When I've asked for more clarification, I've been met with hostility. - Rittenhouse charges $400 for a private room for a Medicaid waiver resident. If you are looking for an assisted living facility for a loved one on a waiver, please know that this is the exception -- not the rule. There are other assisted living facilities in the Indianapolis area where a Medicaid waiver resident can get a room with no extra charge for a private room. - One of the craziest things that happened had to do with a medication dosage increate. I learned that Rittenhouse had decreased my mother's anti-depressant. When I asked one of the nurses why, she told me that my mother's pharmacy had decreased the dosage. I finally got the true story some time later. But for about 48 hours it was just this one LPN I was in contact about it who insisted that a pharmacy could change my mother's dosage and had done so. - It is far too difficult to get through to the director and the office manager at Rittenhouse. I've been told SO MANY TIMES that people would call me back -- never to hear from them. I've sent emails, never to hear back. I do think that the newest manager of Rittenhouse is very kind and very determined to turn the place around. And perhaps she'll be able to. I hope so. I've gotten to know so many of the residents over the past two years. Some of them I've truly to come to love -- as has my mother. And there are some employees at Rittenhouse that I will miss so much. But my mother's deserves better than what Rittenhouse has been for the past two years, and what it currently is.

There may be fancier facilities elsewhere in Indianapolis, but we picked Rittenhouse because they treat their residents like family. When we toured Rittenhouse, we saw staff everywhere interacting with people. Except for memory care, people aren't segregated by level of care like in other facilities. Because Mom was terminally ill, the administration did everything they could to accommodate her including coming to see her when she was still in care elsewhere, providing her a room with a beautiful view on short notice, welcoming a new hospice service that they didn't know, and developing a coordinate care plan between their staff, the hospice, and our family. Mom's last days were spent in the very best of care. Rittenhouse was a blessing to all us!

Do not take you love one to this place my Mother was there for 5 days fell 2 time she ended up in IU heart hospital with a broken back, bruise knee and a UTI spent 5days in hospital and now in a rehab. And since I paid them more than 4500.00 they refused to give me any money back. Way to go Rittenhouse.

My sister is very happy at Rittenhouse. The staff takes good care of her. The only reason I don't give five stars is due to the problems with billing. These problems are always resolved, but there seems to be some confusion. Other than that, the care for my sister has been wonderful. She really enjoys the art activities, Bible studies, and lunches outside the facility with other Rittenhouse residents. My sister is happy, and her small apartment is nice.
