He was restricted from sitting in the lobby when he couldn’t sleep, required to shower at 6:30 a.m. each day, and the staff—from management down—felt distant and unapproachable. He was deeply unhappy. My sisters and I began searching for a community that could meet his needs for meals, medication management, and light housekeeping. We toured and contacted multiple facilities. From the moment we walked into Cedarhurst, the difference was unmistakable. It immediately felt warm, welcoming, and truly like home. The staff was friendly, responsive, and open to every question and request. The building is clean, well‑maintained, and supported by exceptional team members. Kari (Admin), Candace (Admin), Cadance (Admin), Portia (ADON), Madison (DON), along with the nursing, dining, and housekeeping teams, have all gone above and beyond to ensure my father feels safe, comfortable, and valued. After working in healthcare for 43 years, I can confidently say that Cedarhurst stands out. It is a community I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone. They are truly wonderful.

My mom resides in Cedarhurst of Fort Wayne. My mom has dementia so I'm doing this on her behalf. Over all we're pretty satisfied. There are just a couple of things that I would like to address though. First is the staff turnover. I'm not talking about the line staff I'm talking about the upper level staff. In the year and a half that my m has been at Cedarhurst there has been 3-4 DON's and maybe 2-3 directors and only one time has there had been a full administrative team. The last DON and director lasted 2-3 months. Ive worked in healthcare 40+ years so I know when there's turnover like this it is usually attributed to the corporation and I truly feel like that's the case here. So I sincerely hope that you will take a seriously hard look at yourselves, your policies and procedures and make some changes that will encourage good people to stay. Please!! Secondly is the food. Most days it's subpar. Some days it looks like dog food. Some days it's delicious. But no one should ever have to eat anything that looks like dog food. The drinking glasses look like they've not been cleaned and have been handled by someone with dirty hands. They are stacked open end down on a solid surface so they never actually get dry inside. That's a prefect environment for bacteria growth. Those are my two biggest concerns. Without a steady administration there can be no consistency and your line staff and residents are paying the price. Please look hard at yourselves, I beg you.

The staff is excellent. My mother loves the food and her apartment. She is still adjusting to her new schedule, but things have been progressing. She has a mother duck with 12 ducklings visiting her door. She loves watching them.

We are very appreciative of the care given to our Mom at Cedarhurst assisted living and memory care unit. Everyone that has helped Mom has been very professional, responsive and caring. The Facility is very clean and service is great! The Residents are treated like family.

Our family member has lived at Cedarhurst for over 18 months. During that time we have learned to appreciate and value the care and attention given to our family member by all Cedarhurst staff. Our loved one has faced a number of health related issues, and every time the Cedarhurst staff has come through for him. Many times they went above and beyond our expectations. My apologies for not naming specific staff but if I start, I'm certain to leave out someone. Every staff member across all positions have been caring and helpful, not only to our loved one but also to our family.

My mom has been a resident at Cedarhurst for a little over a year. She is very happy with the environment and the care she is receiving. The staff is very friendly and seems to care about the residents there. When we have had an issue, they are quick to remedy the problem. I would recommend Cedarhurst to anyone who does not need one-on-one nursing care.

I moved here two years ago the end of March. I am from Wyoming and moved to Ft. Wayne to be closer to my children. I am 92, still drive, live four miles from my son and daughter in law, a little over a mile to a small strip mall in two directions from this facility which is very convenient for me. I only looked at this facility because it is a one story building, the staff has always been friendly and helpful to me. I do not require any personal staff assistance so I cannot say whether the staff takes good care of the residents who do require personal assistance. When I had covid last year, I can only say that every staff member who came to my room to deliver my meals, check on me, etc. was very efficient, friendly and helpful. I am not one to recommend anything to anyone but I would tell people to come and check the facility in person and decide if it is something that will fill their needs. So far it has filled mine. There are a few quirks here as I am sure there are in any facility.

The staff members at Cedarhurst on Maysville Road were so kind, thoughtful, and loving to my dad during his 18 month stay there. They went above and beyond to make sure he had the best of care. He benefited from the physical therapy offered in the building, he enjoyed the activities provided, and built wonderful relationships. It's not only a beautiful building, it's filled with people who have a heart for the people who live there.
