We were checking for a memory care facility for my mother and I was very impressed with Sunrise. Holly was very helpful giving us a tour and all the information we needed. The facility was beautiful and felt my mom would do well here. The reason why we didn’t choose Sunrise because of a closer place for my dad to visit. Holly is great and very helpful and I would recommend giving them a visit.

My experience at sunrise Senior living has been great I really enjoy the resident service director Marilyn Sephus. She goes above and beyond when it comes to activities and keeping us entertained and for that I am grateful. She cares about everyone. And everyone cares about her. We're very fortunate to have her here as a director. She's extremely thoughtful. And I really appreciated her visiting me at the hospital when I was down not only did she visit but the assistant director Paul came to see me as well I was very grateful for the visit from the both of them.

This place is definitely not all its cracked up to be. I don't have any knowledge of the independent living side, but the assisted living side.. yikes. There are absolutely some friendly people here, and good people who do their job correctly but there are far more that don't. We've been here a little more than a month, and I'm ready to pull my grandpa and go elsewhere. He is pretty independent and because of that, they've taken advantage of it. They don't check on him, they don't make sure he gets to the dining hall, etc. He has missed meals because I'm not here and they will lie about it. I'm his primary care taker and have been for a little bit. That didn't change when I moved in here, and I'm here about 90% of the time but I also have a husband and 4 special needs children that I have to care for, as well, so having him move in here was supposed to HELP me and all it's done is stress me out even more. I have his location on his phone and they've lied about where he was (said he was at the dining hall or had been down there when he absolutely had not). They've let him go without toilet paper, even after I've begged several people a day for some so I ended up just buying his own (which is BS for the amount we pay this place and they're supposed to cover TP and paper towels). And the BIGGEST issue is them not following my grandpa's food plan. When he first got here, I gave them grace because they were learning a new person - I get it. I reached out to the DON about a few things that needed done (chicken needed cut up, etc). Nothing big. A few weeks after being here, we had his appointment with the speech therapist and some things were changed in his diet. Nothing extreme though. Simple things like his pancakes, chicken, etc needed cut. His sandwiches needed cut in 4s instead of halves. His fruit needed to be cut a little smaller. Butter needed to be lathered on his sandwiches and pancakes, gravy on the chicken. And guess what? Nothing is being followed. I reached out to the manager over dietary and he's ignored 2 of my emails. I ended up snapping on some of the dining hall people because I'm tired of it, and now they're treating him blah because of it which is also unacceptable. I finally reached out to the director today and I sure hope things get resolved this way because if not, they're not gonna like the following steps. It's just absolutely ridiculous. I'm so sick of not being able to leave here and KNOW he's taken care of. I have to worry and follow up and check his location when I'm just trying to sleep, or enjoy my family or be at appointments.

Marilyn is a most integral person in our IL community. She gets to know all residents and she makes sure that we get to know each other. We could search all the way to the moon and back but would never find another Marilyn.

Great support super professional staff and they show their care for the residents.

Very clean and modern. Friendly and willing to work with clients. Only drawback was that when the residents funds are exhausted they can not continue to reside there. Private pay only.

I had a new doctor that was not forthcoming in refilling my prescriptions. I called his office several days before I was going to run out of medicine and nothing happened. I called again to ask that we go through a local pharmacy rather than the mail order, because I had run out of my insulin and two other meds. And I waited again! After 10 days, our daughter mentioned my problem to the concierge at Sunrise, and the next day Paul Dworkin authorized our driver to take me to St. Vincent's Express Care with a list of my meds. The doctor there called in an order to our local pharmacy, and Marilyn Sephus accompanied me to make sure they followed through immediately. Sunrise took charge of the situation for me, and I deeply appreciate it.

we had an enjoyable and heartwarming veterans day activities thanks to our activities director Marilyn. change was made early due to the cold weather which Marilyn handled easily. the afternoon activities were very enjoyable heartwarming and moving thanks to her planning and execution of festivities. Marilyn is a gem and any senior living facility would like to have her work for them. Sunrise would lose out if she would leave but all residents of Sunrise would not want that to happen. Sunrise is the place for Marilyn.

Shirley & Joseph Hui,. We are the residence at sunrise senior living. our activity director Marilyn Sephus is fantastic. This is not only one time she has assisted us. She is a wonderful woman and she is a fantastic worker. When we moved in we didn’t know that the birds would Pooh all over our balcony. We asked housekeeping to clean it and they weren’t available so we told Marilyn the activity director and she came up to clean it herself. She brought a water bucket and brooms to clean the balcony all by herself. My husband offered to help but she wouldn’t let him. Now this is the second time she has come up to help me many a times my husband and I cannot solve the problem but she comes up and solve it for us. We are grateful for her work and her personality. She is the plus for the building. Marilyn is the reason we stay here. because her attitude is wonderful and helpful all the time.

I want to give kudos to Marilyn Sephus, our activities director here at Sunrise On Old Meridian. If it weren’t for her, we wouldn’t have nearly the activities or the fun or the camaraderie that we do. In fact, I told her if she ever left I was going with her! Everyone loves this woman and she deserves every ounce of the love we have for her. She keeps us also busy and so happy that words fail me. You’re gonna.

Paul and the rest of the facility staff have been nothing but phenomenal through every step of my grandmothers care over the years. She has been taken care of in all facets of her care and life there between her independent living and now assisted living care. They have been communicative, cordial, and incredibly helpful every step of the way. The facility is not only clean and organized, but also full of great activities, and environmental elements for all their residence. It is a truly beautiful and well run facility and I am happy to have them care for my grandmother.

Awesome place, The people working memory care are the best!
November 2024
My mother is a new resident at Sunrise on the memory care floor. The staff and caregivers were very helpful making this transition for my mom a pleasant experience and make her feel at home. They are very caring and compassionate!! They do an amazing job letting us know of activities and events that she can participate in and she has enjoyed them all. The food is wonderful and they serve a nice variety of well balanced meals. The property is kept very clean and has a homelike atmosphere!! I would highly recommend Sunrise on Old Meridian
November 2024
As difficult as it is to make the decision to move a family member into a memory care facility, the staff at Sunrise made our transition as seamless as possible. I toured other facilities, but Sunrise stood out among the rest, mainly due to the different memory care units. Upon move-in, my mom wasn't in need of constant care, and was able to live among others who were still able to feed and dress themselves. As her dementia progressed, she was able to move to a different unit that provided more care and more appropriate activities. Did I mention the activities?! No need to worry about your family member just sitting around staring at the walls (unless that's their preference!) The activity coordinators plan unit-appropriate food & leisure outings, residential games, festive family meal events, exercise & musical hours that are curated to meet the needs of each resident's abilities, spiritual/worship and movie/documentary time as well as baking and artistic experiences. The facility is extremely easily accessible, located just off of 31 North and I never have to worry about my mom wandering outside alone because their security is top notch.

When I walked into the apartment, I was immediately convinced this was the place for our mother. The apartments have the most beautiful windows in the living and bedroom areas.Once she moved in, we realized immediately how caring and inviting were not only the staff but the residents as well. Thank you staff and residents for your love and care for our mother while she lived there. Pauline’s Daughter

Our mother is strong-willed and driven so was especially difficult in supporting when she rapidly developed dementia. The Sunrise staff have been amazing in stabilizing her and bringing her into the community where she is safe and well cared for. Sunrise provides this safe environment while still recognizing and supporting our mother’s individuality. The excellent staff at Sunrise significantly help us believe that Mom is in the best environment for her needs.
August 2021
Both of our parents moved to Sunrise after living at another facility in Carmel for several years - the difference was night and day. Sunrise is no less than stellar in every way. What first drew us to them was that they have different levels of assisted living and they can tailor the care to your specific situation. The staff deeply cares and treats every resident with the utmost respect; they are knowledgeable, kind, attentive. The leadership is fantastic - transparent, communicative, and interested in running a facility unlike any other we visited (and we visited A LOT!) Our parents lived here for several years before passing recently. The way the leaders and staff handled Covid was super responsible, and they had minimal cases as a result. I watched the way the caregivers assisted both my mom and dad in their last days - and they were truly angels. My family has commented many times how we feel that everyone working at Sunrise is not just doing a job, but serving a calling. Not one person let us down - ever! Not one person ever expressed impatience or frustration - what they have going is authentic and priceless. We feel like they are family. From the bottom of our hearts - thank you Terona, thank you Renee, Tori, Dixie, Jake, David, Tanza, Michael, Michael, Charlotte, Alexis, Levi, Melanie, Linda, Janice, Eric, Tom, Donja - I know I am leaving out so many of you - please forgive me if I have.....but thank you all!!!! We will love you and be indebted to you forever for taking such good care of Wayne and Norma.
