Reviews Meadowood

While we eventually ended up having to choose a different facility for the needs required for my father, the time we took to learn about Meadowood and all they have to offer was definitely well worth it. Kathy Norris & her staff did a wonderful job in showing all that Meadowood had to offer as an independent living facility & we were most impressed with, not only Meadowood's offerings & accommodations, but with Kathy's professionalism in helping us learn about the facility and what our needs may be. For anyone looking for a high quality Independent Living situation w/ some assistance available, look no further than Meadowood for all you may be looking for.

I like living at Meadowood -the grounds are beautiful; I like my apartment and Gerry at the Front Desk as well as others are very helpful and always most pleasant. I also enjoy all the frills offered here. I only wish that some kind of advanced care would open up in the unused space attached to the independent living quarters. Thank you. Gerry Miller

Little late on the review, but if you’re a veteran this is the place! They put together a museum quality event to celebrate fellow veterans. Staff and residents were very welcoming. Love to see that!

I cannot say enough about the quality of care and service that comes from the committed, compassionate staff at Meadowood. The food is beyond incredible. The property is clean and truly a stunning sight to behold in any season. Every resident seems to have a constant smile and laughter is always filling the air. I am so thankful for the staff at Meadowood for their innumerable contributions to the wellness of the residents, their families and the Monroe County community they are in. 10/10. Highly recommend.

Chuck Foster We have lived in the Meadowood community for six years. It has been for us a perfect fit. We have found a community in which staff and residents care deeply for each other. We have developed many close friendships. Our lives are enriched by the wide and varied experience of fellow residents. The rich and varied activities of the community engage us. The setting is beautiful and provides ample and safe space for my daily walks. The food is excellent, and the conversations over meals are typically fun, interesting and often stimulating. We are simply grateful to find ourselves living in this place with the people who live and work here.

I moved in a couple of months ago, and am very happy with Meadowood. The best thing about Meadowood is the people, both the other residents and the staff. Everyone was so very welcoming that it only took me a couple of weeks to feel like an old resident. The other best thing (two bests???) has got to be the food.

This company does more for the community than anyone can expect. They help more than just their own residents. Stop by for a visit.

The staff at Meadowood is amazing. They are truly interested in making the experience rewarding and pleasant for the residents as well as anyone who is visiting. The food is delicious. Residents are given so many interesting options from local events to organized trips. One of my colleagues who is not a resident recently spoke with envy about the Meadowood bus being at the door for drop off and pick up at IU basketball games. Several of my clients are now residents of Meadowood. They clearly love living there. That speaks volumes to me.

I drove through and visited this gorgeous community as spring unveiled itself - greeted with friendly waves and smiles by every single resident I passed, taking in the blossoming trees and flowers. Residents were walking around, happily talking with each other and enjoying the warm day outside. The landscaping is positively gorgeous, as well as the layout of the facility. It felt like a little oasis hidden from the main road. Every single representative of Meadowood Ive interacted with has been top notch; thoroughly educated and passionate about the work they do. What more could you ask for? We are so lucky to have a place like this for seniors in Bloomington.

I have had to pleasure of visiting Meadowood on several different occasions. First let me state that the food is out of this world. Everyone who works at this facility is so nice and it truly shows by the look on all of their residents faces. I love how they make it fun for the residents with the holidays, retreats, activities, and so much more that they do with and for them. I hope i have the pleasure of retiring here one day in the future.

I recently attended a community event at Meadowood. The event was a 1 hr seminar on the Mediterranean Diet and its heart healthy benefits. I liked that it was open to the public as well as the Measowood residents. I was blown away by the presentation and how well done it was. The presenter was on staff at the facility. Wow, that really says something about the caliber of staff there. I was particularly impressed with the level of service and attention that the staff paid to the residents while I was there. After the presentation, I toured the facility. Let me tell you, it was beautiful. The units were impeccably clean and well appointed. The little extras were so nice. The library, hair salon, green house, etc. were all top notch.Im not quite old enough to live there just yet, but as soon as I am, I will be giving them a call!

Meadowood truly caters to the residents. With a selective menu, dining experience takes on a restaurant style atmosphere. The Lifestyle 360 program for Activities is phenomenal with a recreational therapist at the lead. Staff Nurses and certified nursing assistants take time and care with their customers. Meadowood even utilizes a Reflexologist if there is a need for Spa time. Schedule a tour and see for yourself this little piece of Heaven on earth called Meadowood.
November 2019
I came to Meadowood because of its reputation for many activities (an average of 200 opportunities per month) but have come to love my life here because of the people--and the beautiful surroundings.
October 2019
I worked there for 1 1, 2 years and it was a great caring place. They care for their residents and try very hard make them comfortable. Great Staff.
October 2019
I have worked here since 2015. I have loved every minute of it. The staff is awesome. We all work together as a team, to make sure all of our residents are attended to on time. I encourage everyone to come out for a tour 🙂

Meadowood is exceptional in every way.The facility is stunning. The activities, and amenities are top notch, and as an employee I promise to always go above and beyond to help keep each resident healthy, happy, and independent.I would highly recommend Meadowood to anyone ready to live a Five Star life!!
September 2019
My mom has lived there for 20 years. The staff is amazing. The fitness classes and other activities have helped my mom stay active and involved. The food is wonderful and provides not only good nutrition, but a chance for residents to connect. I have been on a couple of trips, one to Cabo San Lucas Mexico and one to French Lick, Indiana. As a child of a resident, I felt very welcomed on the trips. The trips were so wewe organized and gave us a chance to travel as a family. I highly recommend Meadowood.

Meadowood was the right choice for my husband and me. Our unique place on the campus of Indiana University gives us so much joy.Our bus takes us to concerts, lectures, ball games and plays. Many IU faculty and families retire here. We can be as social or as private as we wish. My husband loves to walk our forested acreage. I enjoy our yoga, Qi Gong, music from the Jacobs School of Music and the interesting conversations we have daily. There is a culture of kindness here. We are lucky.
June 2019
I have been at Meadowood in Bloomington , Indiana for two years. I am 75 years old. Meadowood has so much to offer someone my age. There are more activities than one can do. I particularly like all the sports events that I an driven to--even though I still drive I appreciate not having to fight the crowds at football, basketball, volleyball, baseball etc. Meadowood has a workout room that I use three days a week to exercise on the elliptical. There are also exercise classes. In the fall, when Indiana University is in session, there are operas and musicals that we are taken to and picked up, even late at night. We are located only a mile from the sports facility and 2 miles from all the musicals offerings--love being this close to the Indiana University campus!
June 2019
The care, concern and respect that the staff has for the residents, and the residents in turn, have for the staff is just amazing. Everyone seems to try and make this like one big happy (maybe somewhat dysfunctional at times, lol) family. I have been with Meadowood for a little over 3 years now, and the first 3 months of this year had to be off due to a somewhat major surgery on my right hand, wrist. The first week I was off, I received over a dozen cards of encouragement from not only the residents themselves, but also from other staff, as well as, a few phone calls. On my occasional visits in while off on medical leave, they all expressed how much I was missed, and were all hoping I was healing and recovering well. Then when I came back to work, and even now, they all are always asking how my hand, wrist is doing, making sure Im not over doing things with my hand, wrist, and asking when Ill be having the other hand, wrist done.I missed this place while I was off, even though I enjoyed having my grandkids stay with me while I was off. Meadowood makes me feel very wanted, and I truly love working here.Thank You!
May 2019
I have taken a 2month respite at Meadowood for seven years. Based on the wonderful treatment and good food, my husband and I have moved into a garden home as permanent residents.
May 2019
I love Meadowood! My grandma enjoys living in this community so much. Every time we visit, we can see how happy everyone is and the great social network Meadowood promotes. The food is pretty yummy too 🙂
March 2019
I have worked at Meadowood Retirement Community for over 12 years - and I am still excited about this company, our wonderful residents, and our excellent staff members, many of whom have been here 20 years or more. I look forward to going to work every day and helping to fulfill our promise to deliver a 5 Star experience to each and every resident.
March 2019
Meadowood has been a long time client of mine. We do replacement windows, and doors. They are always upgrading there units for the residence so they have a nice place. There staff is always accommodating.
February 2019
Meadowood and their people are top notch. They have so many activities for all the residents. The facilities are very well keep. Good job to all.
January 2019
My mom has lived at Meadowood for 20 years and our whole family could not be happier with the experience she has had there! We know that she is surrounded by friends; has a support system there if needed; and has lots of opportunities to attend interesting lectures, go to concerts and athletic events, and take trips around the world. In fact, my brothers, sister, and I have been able to accompany her on some of the fantastic Meadowood trips! I would recommend Meadowood to anyone!
September 2018
We rented a well-maintained cottage while visiting family. The setting is ideal, close enough to all of the activities Bloomington has to offer, but tucked into a quiet, tree-filled neighborhood. The unit was perfectly clean and comfortable, well-equipped with everything we needed, and had a nice view of the woods. The staff were exceptionally helpful and efficient. I would definitely recommend these cottage rentals and this retirement community.
March 2018
As the second longest tenured employee at Meadowood, I continue to be amazed at the lengths our staff go to make our residents and guests happy with their choice of being at Meadowood. Excitement is growing as we get ready to launch into a completely new service line with our new Rehab to Home option in our Health Pavilion. Within the next 60 days, we will be offering 22 newly designed and fully renovated rehab suites with the goal of providing patient directed care and therapies to get you well and back home as quickly as possible.
May 2017
One great asset at Meadowood is the white-linen first class dining room. We have a great entrée selection like a first class restaurant. It is a real social activity. We do not have assigned tables and make friends from our interesting and accomplished residents. OK, a lot of us were professors and like to talk!
