I cannot express enough how happy we were while my dad was at Greek American for short term rehab after a hip fracture. ALL the staff there are attentive and truly CARE about their patients! No matter what the request or need was, it was tended to. From the wonderful staff who work at the front desk to admitting to the social workers to the CNA's and nurses, everyone was incredible! We have really high expectations and needed a place where my dad would feel CARED for and comfortable - Greek American is the ONLY skilled nursing facility in the Northwest suburbs I would recommend!

I love and appreciate Greek American SO MUCH. I am so comforted in knowing such kind, compassionate, competent, and professional people are taking care of my mama. Everything is amazing from custodial staff to admin. There are no adequate words for my gratitude for how well they take care of my mama and other residents.

We are very thankful and feel blessed to have our mom cared for by the kind and compassionate staff at the Greek American. She has been there for about 3 years, and receives excellent care including daily monitoring and adjustments of her medications. Wish I could give them 10*****s!!!!

My mom has been to a few different rehabilitation centers but this one tops them all by far. All of the staff was awesome especially the nurses. They were all so caring to my mom.and made her feel so comfortable while she was here for 4 weeks. Highly recommend here for anyone in need of nursing home or rehabilitation. Thank you Greek American for everything!!!

If you need to put a loved one in a nursing home, whether its for short term rehab or long term care, this is the place. Especially if they are Greek, they will adjust much easier. The staff here is exceptional at all levels. The place is spotless, the rooms are beautiful and most importantly the staff and care is exceptional.

This place is exceptional and EXTRAORDINARY. I had read reviews online for other places and they were terrifying. Here I know my loved one is safe and happy. He is treated with compassion and gentle care. You are not just a patient here but FAMILY. Since coming here he is happy and recovering well. THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO! My mind is at ease knowing he is in amazing hands.

UPDATE: It has now been a month since my Mom began her stay here and I'm still wholly impressed by GARCC! The staff is aimply beyond warm and friendly and will assist you in every way possible at any moment. An additional feature is the indoor aviary they have featuring all different colored birds and swings. It's a real treat to see the baby birds get bigger every visit; I am amazed at the growth I see about every other day! ORIGINAL POST: It's never easy having a loved one who needs medical care and it's even worse when you have to find a suitable facility! My Mom suffered a severe stroke about a week and a half ago; she is paralyzed on her left side, from face to foot and she can't swallow. Oh, and she also has advanced Alzheimer's ... what a lucky lady! Kidding aside, we needed to find a sub-acute care facility for rehab after she left the hospital and we were short on time. Being that our original two choices (The Moorings and ManorCare of Arlington Heights) weren't going to work I somehow luckily came across the Greek American Rehailitation and Care Centre. So the website looked good but we wanted to check it out in-person. It's sort of tucked away in a residential section and you might not even know it was there if it weren't for the directional signs. It looked even nicer in-person than on their website. Walking in was such a welcome surprise ... no pee stank at all. The lobby is gorgeous and homey and smells wonderful (I swear I know the scent but I can't think of the name). Glossy wood floors and rich tones, looks professionally decorated. So, my Mom's room is on the third floor and fortunately enough, no pee stank here either! The patient rooms are HUGE whether they be private or semi-private. Rooms are also homey and not sterile like a regular hospital. It's only been a few days since Mom was admitted so I'll keep an eye on this review and post should our opinion of GA ever change.

The best nursing home I have ever been in, and I have been in many of them. The staff treats the residents as if they were their own family - with grace, respect, kindness, patience, and humor. And, you don't have to be Greek to go there. Every staff member is aware of each individual resident's personality, special needs, and how to keep the residents engaged.

Greek American Rehabilitation Center offers some of the most hands on and caring approaches to Senior Care. Their traditional Greek ways are reinforced by the multitude of Greek residents and the many Greek employees across the departments, from activities to patient care. But, by no means, do you have to be Greek to enjoy the ever present community atmosphere. Greek American is not a Rehabilitation Center, it is a home. A home with a welcome mat set for all people.

My husband passed away almost 5 months ago from there. They were so nice to me. Brought up soda water the coffee the day he passed gave me the privacy plus let me stay the nite for a week just to be with him. I did give them 2 stars awhile ago but things can change and I admit it
