My husband and I have lived here for 4 months and we are so grateful our children looked around to find the best place for us. The staff couldn't be more helpful and all the residents are so friendly. The restaurant serves the most delicious meals and there are too many actitivies to mention. Thankful to be here.

Very clean, staff exceptional. Many things for all to do. Food excellent food director always trying to find new available items for residents by having a food forum periodically attended by residents with tasting, yum! Many activities for all!! Administrator and staff always aware of residents needs and get things taken care of. All staff ready to meet needs of all residents. Since Covid.....excellent with keeping that in check. All priorities in check......... A huge thank you for everything............

I love the Timbers! My apartment has a view of the pond and I enjoy watching the changes of the seasons outside my window. During this pandemic Timbers have done everything based on medical facts and has done it in a friendly reassuring fashion.

I love my home at the Timbers! I love my apartment with the view of the garden and its close to the walkway so I can see some of the residents who wave at me and give me a thumbs up sign (it lifts my spirit). I have felt safe here at the Timbers because of the restrictions and the vigilant observations and reminders of the tireless staff. My favorite activities at the Timbers are the art classes, bowling, golf, bingo, and Pokeno. My favorite daily doings during this time has been coloring, along with lots of phone use and people-watching when Im out and about!

Ive been so pleased with the attention received by both my mother and father during their years at Timbers. They lived there together for a few years before my mother moved to a memory-care facility nearby. During my mothers most challenging last few months at Timbers, the staff did all they could and more to help make my fathers caregiving experience less stressful. Both then and now, with my father living there on his own, the staff is wonderfully dependable regarding maintenance needs and, honestly, any personal need or problem that they are able to assist with. The pandemic has really limited interaction for the residents, but staff make sure that everyone gets attention, treats and check-ins on a very frequent basis. I cant imagine a more friendly, caring, professional and capable facility for a loved one.

So thankful for the genuine love, care and response of Timbers management and staff. My mom has been there one and a half years and they have made her comfortable, even through the changes with sheltering in place. She loves her cute apartment and tells me about the good meals that are served. Take care, we are hoping and praying for the best for residents and staff.

Our family experience has been a positive one. The staff and director care truly for their residents. This has been such a difficult time for the residents due to covid. The Timbers continues to deal and reinvent virtual ways residents can connect safely with one another. Our window and outside visits have helped tremendously with our mother. The staff at The Timbers are kind, compassionate, and patient with all the residents. They are smiling angels who make the residents feel comfortable and welcome in their new home. Kevin Young and Sheila Reyes are always available and willing to assist with anything they can to help transition your loved one to make it the best possible experience. I am so appreciative of how they help my Sister. They have been doing such a good job of keeping the residents safe during this Covid-19 . They use such care with their PPE to keep residents as safe as possible. My Sister has been there since Feb2020 and she loves it. Staff are so helpful . The maintenence dept helps with so many things from phones, tvs and more, She loves the activities. and the food. Thanks so much to the Timbers Staff for your caring and help. My parents moved into The Timbers of Shorewood in February, 2019, and I am so happy they are there. They have benefited from the friendly and down-to-earth camaraderie of their fellow neighbors. When I visited shortly after that, almost all of their neighbors greeted them by name. The sittercize activity has been especially appreciated by my mom. The allowances made and assistance given for personalization of their space makes their apartment truly a home. With the advent of COVID-19, first I worried about their safety, and second I worried about their boredom due to the required isolation. The staff has, however, done a remarkable job minimizing health risk by following distance practices, delivering meals, and using PPE, and then keeping them connected to their community by visiting their apartment with special treats like rootbeer floats and fun individual activities like the shared quarantine picture sessions. Now that isolation requirements are relaxing (a little!) they are working to provide outdoor distanced activities such as a musician visiting to spread joy. Thank you, Timbers, for caring for my mom and dad.

Ive been trying for, Im not kidding, 10 years to get my dad into the Timbers. I KNEW he would love it. When the time finally came and he admitted he needed help he went for a visit and never left!! They treat my father and everyone else like royalty.

My mom liked the activities at Timbers. She was able to socialize and meet a few new friends. Everyone was so nice to her. The holidays are always so fun. Very clean and comfortable living environment. We will miss having her there.

Moving to The Timbers was unquestionably the best decision for my father in this difficult stage of his life. There are so many people who have my gratitude for helping us deal with the challenges he has faced this past year and a half: the aids in Assisted Living; the always cheerful Front Desk staff; the dining room attendants who seemed to take special care of dad, led by Pam and her obvious desire to bring the best to each and every meal; Amy for the entertainment that always brought a smile to dads face; maintenance for always being on top of any concern or need we had in the apartment; and Kevin and the entire front office staff for being understanding of our changing situations and especially for being empathetic to the difficulties we both faced. I still remember the day that I first dropped in, no appointment, just hours after I learned that my father needed a place to live that offered more assistance. While I was sitting by the front desk waiting for someone to come talk to me, Amy came in through the front doors and stopped to talk to several residents in the lobby area, calling them by name and asking them about activities that were specific to them, not just general ‘how are you doing today conversation. I remember thinking that if I hadnt walked in cold, I would have taken it as a staged situation for the benefit of a potential new residents family! But it wasnt - this is truly how the residents are treated - like friends. Soon Kevin came out to introduce himself and tell me more about The Timbers. As I started explaining my situation, I broke down and started crying. He was caring, sympathetic, and handled the awkward situation by leading me to the private dining room, where I was able to get myself under control and tell him what I was looking for. By the end of my visit and tour with Kevin, I knew that The Timbers was where Dad needed to be. And more, I felt GOOD about placing him here! The residents were happy and smiling. The staff was engaged and friendly. The food smelled good! And the environment was clean, comfortable and homey. I was actually shocked to learn that it was over fifteen years old – with walkers and wheelchairs, I would have expected more wear and tear – but the care of the staff shows even in the small details like this. I hope when the time comes that I find myself in need of a little extra care, I can find a place like The Timbers and the staff that makes it such a very special place.

The Timbers staff is wonderful, kind and caring. I cannot begin to say enough about the peace of mind it brings to us to know our mom is in a beautiful and clean environment with professional and caring staff. Although mom is in independent living; there have been several times that she has needed immediate help after Falling during late evening - early morning hours. The emergency button that all residents wear has proven the staff at Timbers is on task day and night and help has arrived for mom more than once , as is their procedure- they then make a call back to us to report and let us know what happened and how she is. I Have needed to call the front desk to check on mom during late evening hours a few times and there is Always someone there- answering phone and getting someone to check on her immediately and then calling us from her room - letting us know the situation and then letting mom speak with us so that we know all is ok. It is a difficult journey when a parent who has been independent their whole life now needs a special place where they can retain some independence and dignity. We are confident that mom is safe and happy and can be as active as she chooses to be. The Timbers has many activities and the best celebration events for the residents and their families to enjoy. We visit and check on mom at all different times of day and the staff has always been friendly and helpful. Our mother living at The Timbers is good for her and good for our family. She is living near us now, not 500 miles away from us. We can stop by anytime, take her out or visit her comfortably there. We can keep mom involved at family events and this along with her care at the Timbers has proven to be the best and right choice for our mom.

My mother was a resident at Timbers for 2 1-2 years until she had to move to a more secure facility for dementia. The entire staff is wonderful and they all are very attentive. I would definitely recommend Timbers as a choice for independent or assisted living. I give it 5 stars!!!

Great independent/assisted living experience! Faith Varga, General Manager, and her staff, run a fantastic operation. Both my parents live here. The people really make this great, from the staff, to the residents. If either spouse served in military during wartime, they may be eligible for VA Aid and Attendance benefits to help fund.

We could not think of a better place for Mom. Since moving there, she is more social and has more of a reson to get moving in the mornings. I highly recommend Timbers to anyone looking for a new "home" enviroment for themselves or their loved ones.

The Timbers of Shorewood is a great assisted living community. There are so many activities that residents can participate in. The CNA's are very good. There are some who really take good care of their patients. The staff is very friendly especially at the front desk. They respond very quickly to any request the family's may have as well as the residents. The maintenance people fix anything that needs attention quickly making the residents feel comfortable whenever they have a maintenance problem. The director handles problems in a very timely manner thus keeping family members and residents happy. I am happy with the Timbers of Shorewood and you will be too. If mom or dad needs anything they are only a phone call away.!!!9
