While searching for a the right place for our loved one, I spent some time on the phone with Leslie and Jeannie at Oak Hill who took time to educate me on what it takes to move someone into assisted living. These women were WONDERFUL and treated me like family, giving me insight and support and even recommending other places that might suit my needs. While we chose a different location (in another state so that our loved one could be close to many caring friends/family), Leslie and Jeannie opened my eyes to what was possible, and how to make assisted living a reality for us. I would highly recommend Oak Hill if you are seeking assisted living for someone you love!

My Mom & I had the pleasure of meeting with Lesly. We set up a tour to see Oak Hills. We were greeted with friendly faces and a welcome sign which was so nice and thoughtful. The facility is beautiful! Updated and so clean! My Mom & I loved the outdoor patio, the dining area, and the beautiful pond, so scenic! The studio & one bedrooms are so spacious! The bathrooms are bigger than my house. My Mom loved it. They have a pool table, activity room, salon, movie room etc. Of all the places we looked at this is by far the most beautiful one! All the residents are friendly including the staff. Lesly went above and beyond to answer all our questions and show us around. My Mom is looking forward to living here in the upcoming future.

The Staff and Care Team at Oak Hill goes above and beyond for their residents and families. We visited and toured numerous facilities in the area and Oak Hill stands above all others. The residents were so kind and welcoming when mom moved in. We are so happy that she has the support she needs, friendship opportunities, and can still maintain a sense of independence.

Very clean facility. Staff seems caring and knowledgeable. The decor of the common area gives a feeling of home rather than a residential facility. This can create a soothing feeling to the residents. Holiday decorations are quite nice. They are considerate with the residents and understands their issues and needs.

Visited facility with my parent , and very impressed. I met some of the nicest and informative staff. And actually some of the lovely residents. The facility is kept up very well and festive for holiday. We actually tasted some of the food and I was impressed. My parent is not quite ready to make a move but when the time comes we will be reaching back out to Oak Hill!

I cannot say enough great things about Oakhill. When my Mom moved here almost a year ago, she was very scared and uncertain. She didn't want to give up her "home". We reminded her that Home is where your heart is. It took her a few weeks to get acquainted because she is shy, but once she did she loves it and wishes she had moved here sooner. The staff is fabulous! Very approachable and willing to listen. Everyone knows her name. The residents are lovely and she has made lots of great friends. She can be very busy with activities and outings, or she can relax and just hang out on the beautiful patio in front, the big deck in back, or the nice seating areas throughout the building. One of her favorite things is the community garden with lots of fresh tomatoes and other vegetables available to her. Moving Mom here was one of the best decisions we have made!

Just a note about a service offered by Oak Hill. I have a neighbor who works for Wal-Mart. He told me about the shuttle driver from Oak Hill. He said Tim is outstanding. Always nice. Always helpful. We people on the shuttle as well as the people in Wal-Mart think he is the best.

My mother moved into Oak Hill a couple months ago and she is enjoying living there. It is a beautiful facility with wonderful staff. The peace of mind knowing that there are nursing assistants available 24/7 is wonderful. My mother enjoys the shopping trips and outings. She attends exercise classes. She doesn't always love what is on the menu but there are always alternate items available. I looked around for a good place for my mother and I am really pleased that we found Oak Hill.

My mom has been living at Oak Hill for a few months and she absolutely loves it. The building and grounds are beautiful, the decorations for holidays are gorgeous. From the activities to the meals, the bus that goes fun places and her apartment is just what she needs! I can't say enough good things. Our mother has been living at Oak Hill since April, 2021. My family and I cannot say enough nice things about the Oak Hill staff and facilities. From the research phase, to intake, move-in, and day to day life, EVERYONE we’ve encountered at Oak Hill has been welcoming, friendly, professional, and attentive to our mother’s (and our family’s) needs. The facilities are clean, comfortable, and inviting, with plenty of room - indoors and out - for relaxing, visiting, or participating in various activities. Even more telling, the many residents of Oak Hill that we have encountered are also very friendly and seem to be happy and well adjusted. My family and I visit often and with no notice. We have never experienced anything different. We are glad we found Oak Hill and are very appreciative of the care they provide for our mother.

Supportive is the key to the name of this community. Clean, generous spaces. Facilities maintained beautifully. Food is fresh and plentiful. Rooms are bright and superior to surrounding communities, I reviewed them all. Family and resident support is the objective and they achieve their objective and more. The assistance offered to me for a year to gain an apartment for my family member was exhaustive, professional and thorough. Never, did I hear someone say we cannot help you - only how can we help over and over again. After a VERY difficult banking history, and a VERY difficult family member, the very qualified professionals got an approval to move ahead with admitting a resident. My thanks, respect and ongoing support through referrals of this facility will continue. Thank you Oak Hill.

Good morning, Lesly. I hope this email finds you well. First, I just wanted to thank you and your entire staff for the amazing job you have done for all of your residents in your community. My mom may be a little rough around the edges but shes a beautiful person who has been through a lot, not just from covid-19 but her entire life. During her intake when she was asked what her goals were she said she just wanted to fit in and I have complete faith that she has finally found a home. Lesly, my mom whispered to me in disbelief when she saw her new bed set and couldnt believe that it was hers. It was a humbling moment for me to realize my mother has probably not ever had a brand new bed set or if she has it was a long time ago. Im relaying these thoughts because I am so grateful to all of you that you can do for her what I am unable to and she is safe from abuse or harm. Attached to this email is a condolence letter to the benefactors who thoughtfully donated the furniture (especially the flat screen!) for my mother. Please keep me updated, Im far away but I will make sure I visit after her quarantine and Robertas great-grandaughter is looking forward to meeting her. Our family wishes to extend our gratitude to all staff at Oak Hill SLC in Round Lake, IL. Our father, who is also a grandfather, and great grandfather has been living at Oak Hill since February, 2019. He has received kindness in caring for him even when he may be crabby. He has made friends. Dad enjoys sitting outside in good weather. The miracle working managers helped us to visit Dad on his 95th birthday last week. They assisted him from his room using precautions needed in this time of COVID, and allowed us a visit with him through a window screen. It meant a great deal to all of us. Oak Hill managers and staff have gone above and beyond in helping to meet our fathers needs as well as the needs of our family. Relocating my mom to Oak Hill has been one of the most rewarding decisions myself and my brother have ever made. Everyone there cannot do enough for the family and my mom to ensure that she is taken care of. We love this place for our father. There are so interactive with their supportive living people. they're friendly very helpful it's just an all around nice place for people to come observe their parents enjoying themselves they do a lot for them like taking them on outings to lunches, movies ,bingo, and they're open for suggestions just all around nice place for your loved one

I can't say enough about Oak Hill Community and the amazing staff! I needed to relocate my mom from another state, she was being poorly taken care of. She was sick at least 3-4 times a year, Hospitalization for pneumonia was a common occurrence. The minute I saw Oak Hill and walked through the doors I literally started to cry I was so relieved and happy! The entire staff treated my mother and I like we were the most important people on the earth. Honestly 18 months later, we are both still treated like that! Mom is happy and safe and I am thrilled to report, she has had only 1 slight cold since moving in. I seriously can't say enough good stuff, moving into Oak Hill has given my mom a new life! I must say though my favorite thing about Oak Hill is the rescue of a aging pup. That to me is amazing, A beautiful elderly black lab wonders around with the residents. That is the icing on the cake! Thank you Oak Hill for giving her a great life!!! Lois
