Can't say enough about this facility. Very nice home feel & clean. Reasonably priced, but considering the costs of everything these days, totally justified. Dawn, the Family Advocate, was one of the best, informative, kindest people I came across during the search process...hands-down!!! Very wise choice if someone was in the market for an independent living facility.

I toured there recently with a friend. dawn was the person that toured us and she was kind, knowledgeable and put us at ease. The community was also aesthetically pleasing. The staff that were there were so friendly and stopped to talk to us and say hi. Dawn, the person that gave us a tour found out that my friends dad loves sweets. She talked to the kitchen manager, who brought us out a plate of fresh made cookies at the end of the tour. If I were looking for a place for my parents, I would absolutely choose Bickford of Rockford

The kindness and encouragement shown to my elderly mother is very touching and so appreciated. Michell, the Activities Coordinator, recently went out of her way to encourage my mom to go to an offsite luncheon at beautiful Anderson Japanese Gardens, which also had lovely musical entertainment for the guests. My mom loves music and nature, and was a new person after she came home from this outing! She raved about how wonderful it was. It's moments like these that make me overwhelmingly grateful that my mom is at Bickford!

I live at Bickford House and my sister lived here before me.I was here often when she lived here and so I was very familiar with this facility before I moved in. I have a spacious apartment with a full kitchen. I have windows in my bedroom so my cat is very content to lay in there watching all that is going on outside. Very content here!

The family advisor. Dawn was such a help as we were looking for a place for a friend.. She was very knowledgeable and cheerful, and as we walked through the branch, we couldn’t help but feel the love from the other caregivers that were there. It looks like a resort it was very clean and fresh and bright. Their approach to keeping seniors healthier longer through the higher path is groundbreaking and it’s something that all community should follow that deal with seniors-well done Bickford!

The process to get my mom into this facility was so easy. Dawn spent a lot of time with my sisters and I working with our finances and making sure the move in process was explained and run smoothly. The care is excellent! There is an abundance of staff that come by and check on my mom and meet her needs. The quality of food at each meal is excellent, starting with a salad, entree and dessert. We moved our mom from another facility that had a major staffing issue as well as a difficult director. So now we are happy that we found mom’s forever home.

When you enter Bickford, you immediately feel like you are home. It truly is one big family. The amazing staff is so caring and supportive. Our community is very fortunate to have a place like the Bickford to care for our seniors.

My wife came to Bickford with Alzheimer's, and type 1 diabetes both of which she had for some years. She subsequently developed a bed sore which became progressively worse and was treated as a wound. After she had been here for a number of months, we requested the services of Northern Illinois Hospice. Hospice provided medical equipment and additional nursing which was wonderful. I can't say enough for the nurses and caregivers at Bickford. They were the best. They showed care and compassion beyond what I had expected. They treated and cared for my wife as if she was family. All the staff were genuine and I consider many of them as friends even after my wife recently passed. They are just good people and I thank all of them for what they did for my wife and myself.

We moved my mom into Bickford a couple of months ago and they were so welcoming. They made her feel at home and are always making sure to include her in activities. The staff is so friendly and ready to help answer any questions. We are very happy with our decision to move her there.

I had a great tour and informational meeting with Dawn last week. I am gathering information for a place for my father-in-law. It was Disney day and I sensed a very community atmosphere. Dawn was great, the room was very spacious, staff seemed helpful and engaged, and residents that I met were very upbeat and happy.

Making the decision to place a parent/loved one into assisted living is never an easy one. Bickford was there every step of the way to ensure the safety and utmost care was provided for my mom. This includes the decision-making process, move in process, and life after the move. The staff have been top notch both in taking care of my mom and also with assisting my dad dealing with placing his wife of 55+ years into care. A friendly, very clean, inviting and caring facility. Meals are delicious and well thought of for the residents of all. The approach Bickford takes of memory care, assisted living and independent care is an approach I have not seen before in a facility and one of the main reasons for our choice. Bringing everyone together verse segregation helps all. This is truly a place I would recommend. Thank you to all of the Bickford staff for providing the love and care you see right when you enter the facility

I would like to start with a big thank you to all of the staff at the Bickford of Rockford, from my family’s first tour of the facility and to this day everyone and everything has been top notch. We were able to get my mother who had fallen and broke her hip along with having dementia causing her to at times being very difficult to deal with into this facility, that being said this is what the Bickford is all about caring for your loved ones who are in need of special care. Staff has been extremely accommodating and personable every step of the way not only with my mother but with my father also who is not a resident but spends every day there. I could make this review a very long one because I have nothing but good to say about our experience here so I will end this review by saying we toured many places not just in Rockford but in surrounding areas as well and we are happy we chose the Bickford. Everyone’s experience is different but ours is second to none and I can’t help but believe that yours would be the same if you were to choose them to care for your family member in need.My wife’s father lived here also so it is our second time around with this facility. The apartment is like home the dining room is like a nice restaurant as my mom calls it, the staff is awesome from management all the way down to maintenance, I would not hesitate and do recommend this place to anyone else needing their care for a loved ones. And I will end this by giving everyone at the Bickford a big thank you for making our family’s lives much better knowing our mother is being cared for in the best possible way

Bickford has been home to my mom for almost a year. She has really settled in to her apartment nicely. Not only does she enjoy having some independence, she’s also appreciative of and comforted by the care and attention she receives from every one of the Bickford Family Members. She’s made some dear friends and has many opportunities for various activities and socializing. The peace of mind knowing she is being so well taken care of has been such a blessing to our family.

I toured several facilities for my mom and none of them compared to Bickford of Rockford! You can feel the love the minute you enter. Everyone is so caring and kind. Only drawback was they are full. We got mom on the waitlist and cannot wait to get the call when they have an apartment available!

I cannot thank the Bickford team enough for their support of my aunt & uncle. The facility is always clean and orderly. The CNA's work so hard on behalf of all residents. The last few months of my aunt & uncle's time at the Bickford was not easy. Even so, the CNA's, nurses and administration continued to work around the clock on their behalf. I strongly recommend the Bickford of Rockford for anyone looking for assisted living!

You will not find a better assisted living facility than Bickford. My Dad lived at Bickford of Rockford for the final two years of his life and was on the higher end of their care levels. My dad had a one-bedroom apartment, full kitchen, completely handicap accessible bathroom, and living room - enough space that it felt like home. Bickford allows their residents to keep their pets, and if necessary, will help with pet care. They care for the whole resident- not simply helping with physical needs, but tending to emotional and social needs, too. They arranged outings that catered to my dad's interests, and truly went ABOVE and BEYOND. Most importantly, the staff has been there for our whole family. My dad was often a difficult person to work with in his final years, and yet the staff did not waver in their commitment to providing him with excellent care. They worked tirelessly with our family to keep him safe, and encouraged him to be as positive and social as possible. I cannot begin to tell you how many times they helped us navigate his medical issues, nor how many conversations they had with my dad and our family to make sure that all of his needs were being met. Every BFM (Bickford Family Member- that's what they call their staff) has officially earned a spot in heaven, in my opinion. Particular shout outs go to the leadership team- Shelli, Dawn and Angel are simply AMAZING. I could go on and on. If you're looking for an assisted living home for yourself or a loved one, Bickford is the place to go.

This place treats your family like their family. The dining experience there is like home, food is pretty good. People are taken care of as if in their own home, because they are in their own apartments, locking door and all. These apartments provide enough space, and the amenities of home, full kitchens, bathrooms, self controlled heat and air. The staff there is exceptional in thier care for residents, from toileting to laundry and housekeeping the staff really cares. The nurses are AWESOME as well!
