Staff is always friendly when I visit my neighbors that moved into a unit there.

Mom didn’t know what to expect when we moved her to American House Cedarlake. At 98 years old, she had lived in her own home all these years until she had a stroke. It was very upsetting to her! But the day we brought her to American House, she was met at the door by Dan who would be her nurse. He was so welcoming to her! He helped us bring her up to her room and tried to make her feel she was coming to her home. Then we met Lesley who would be her resident assistant. My mother adores her and speaks of Lesley as a friend. Lesley always has a big smile and a friendly manner. Then we met Cindy in dietary. Cindy would sit down with my mother when she was brought to the table and help explain how meals worked and reinforce how to use the call button. Cindy did this often the first few weeks”and again my mother felt she had someone who cared about her. Marjon, the nurse , was helpful in getting the paperwork done. And last, but not least, a huge shoutout about PT and OT! On May1st when Mom started at American House Cedar, she had been in bed 3 months and was very weak. After her stroke, mom was placed in hospice care with no effort being made to strengthen her. 3 months later she is out of her wheelchair, walking the building with her walker and riding the therapy bike! Truly amazing.

I don't even know where to begin to describe the kindness, compassion and professionalism of the staff at American House Cedarlake. Everyone, from the administration, to the nursing staff, to the maintenance and housekeeping went above and beyond to make my dad's stay there comfortable and to feel like home. My dad was in both the independent and assisted living areas and we had such positive experiences in both. There are so many activities and common areas for people to enjoy. The entire facility is immaculate and well maintained. I hesitate to mention names but Nicole and Beth in administration made it so easy for us to bring my dad in from Florida. He also received excellent nursing care and was so fond of Dan and Jamie. Making the decision to move a parent from their home to independent/assisted living is a difficult one. Everything in their life changes from the familiar to the unfamiliar. But all you have to do is look at people's faces at American House and everyone is smiling! Thank you to everyone at American House for the outstanding care you gave my dad. You are extraordinary people!

AHC is a very nice, clean and caring facility. Marjone makes the place run. Their best RCN’s are Maria and Lenore. The Nurses Dan and Irma are great too. Unfortunately the others seem to turn over more often. But my mother is very happy to be here. They take very good care of all. There has to be a special place in heaven for those who care for our older generations.

My parents have been hear for 2 years and they just love it! The staff is great and the receptionist Debbie is the sweetest and most helpful person. The director Nicole does an amazing job along with all the staff here. Very clean and well kept they care about the residents here. Highly recommend this place for your loved one

American House Cedar Lake was my choice for my sister after visiting and researching several other facilities. We’ve been here 2 years. The staff is extremely helpful, the facility is extremely clean and bright. There are daily activities as well as transportation for outside activities.

Great place for Mom. I'm glad we found this place. The staff is very nice. Place is clean and safe. Lots of activities. Plus, for independent living, you have options for provided meals which is really nice and uncommon for Independent living. AND the food is good! So far, so good here!!!

As a Senior Entertainer it was my first performance there. The facility is beautiful, looks new. The Residents were all friendly and pretty good singers too! The staff was amazing and knew everyone’s first name.

The staff of American House ( I often refer to it as "cedar lake") are so nice ...everybody has a smile as do the people living there ... There is plenty of open areas , sunlight from multiple windows , a beautiful cafe w/ excellent service and food ...my Dad's room is adjacent to a beautiful loft w/ a library and again beautiful sunlight ... Convenient elevators and the staff arranges activities and excursions daily ... There is a nice walking loop and a small park as well on the campus ... I would recommend a visit if you need a place for your loved one !!!

My mother-in-law had to move from independent living to assisted living at American House. Shannon helped us organize the move during quarantine. She was kind, passionate, understanding and went out of her way to be sure the move was a success and my mother-in-law was safe and happy. We cannot thank her enough.

I visited the community and was blown away by how friendly and attentive the staff was. I felt very safe there as everyone was wearing masks and ensuring safety precautions were being followed. We were served excellent food while we were there. The chef was amazing and personally served us our meals.

My parents moved from Florida to Cedarlake Village one year ago. The Marketing Director engaged them in the activities of the facility from the first day.The Seniors believe they are actively involved in the daily events of the place. They have a unique family atmosphere that I have not seen at other places. The residents truly care for one another. The residents feel that they are in control of their environment and they are safe and secure. The place is very clean and exceptionally friendly. Tours are given by the residents because they are so proud of the place they live. The chef works really hard to please the residents special food needs. The security guards are respectful and the residents love these young men. The nurse has been on top of the healthcare needs of my parents. The hairstylist appointments are made weekly. Their lifestyle is at a full schedule. I must say, I have enjoyed the events and entertainment schedule when I have been there. The team of men and women running the facility are truly dedicated to keeping rising costs down for the Seniors and taking great care of them. There are no extra frills but the people in that building, you can't beat! I highly recommend Cedarlake Village. My parents have met very kind and good people there.
