Some RN’s & Male nurses at this facility have no compassion. They lack communication skills, bedside manners & Carry an attitude as if they are better than everyone else. They are there for a paycheck only and it shows. Some RN s are just RUDE and difficult to communicate with. Communication between business office and staff is Poor. Business office people are not friendly & hide behind their titles/office doors. My mom had several items come up missing/stolen @ this facility, they Acted like it was a normal thing that items were missing, they weren’t concerned & didn’t want to get involved. They tried washing a pair of leather, SAS shoes (San Antonio shoes) I paid over $150.00 for these shoes when I asked where they were at, I was told that they tried to wash them and they were ruined, they didn’t Offer to replace them. they didn’t care about the residents personal property. I would not recommend taking your loved ones here.

My great grandma was here last month, the building was always immaculate. The care my grandmother received was outstanding. CNA’s were very friendly and took great care of her. The nurses were very informative and involved in her care. Management kept my family updated and were very helpful with any issues that came up. My father has been there for a year and a half . Before long term care he was in several local nursing homes for rehab and this one is by far the best. They always communicate with me, And have cared for him very well. They keep the facility very clean, And Have not seen a huge turnover with staff. I would recommend this place for any loved one!

My father in law was here for a little over a month. We have never met such caring and considerate staff! We had lots of family in and out and they learned our names and tolerated our many requests and questions with a smile. I hope he doesn't need to return to a nursing home anytime soon, but we would definitely choose Accolade on Pells if he does . They're very responsive to the needs of their clients. The caregivers seem to care a lot about their charges. They go out of their way to make sure the clients have what they need to be comfortable while gently pushing for them to do as much self care as possible. Food isn't all that great and that's a big reason I didn't rate them 5 stars. My brother didn't like most of what was served. Fortunately they could offer him alternative food. The building could use some updates but the rooms are clean. Every time I visited the cleaning staff were visibly hard at work. The whole building looked and smelled clean. For people who are trying to get better this is a good place to be.

I don't have much to go by. My brother in law Robert LaPrise was only there 3 months. From what I observed the staff always treated the patients with care and respect. Robert was always clean and comfortable. Clorie is great. Very caring and communicative. She called me every time Robert was sent to the er. I just wanted to let the staff know how appreciative I am. Accolade Helathcare of Paxton on Pells has proven to be a top-notch facility! I have a very young family member who is a resident at this location. The facility is clean, bright, and very welcoming. The covid precautions that they have in place allow for scheduled visits, including window and outside interactions. The care she is receiving is everything we could want for her! The staff is positive, helpful , and so friendly. They facilitate daily facetime calls with our family when schedules do not allow for an in-person visit, or if visits are limited due to covid precautions. Although we would love to have her home, we have the utmost trust and confidence in the entire staff knowing that she is comfortable, content, and receiving the best care! We cannot thank everyone enough for all that you do to make the best of a difficult situation.

Accolade in my opinion does an excellent job caring for and assisting my Father. They came to our aid during the Covid experience and have been impressive ever since. The person I come into contact most, Jodi, is wonderful. When we have a concern or request she tends to the issue promptly and pleasantly. Communication from Accolade is both professional and timely. The approach Accolade has toward it's residents gives my mother and I comfort, knowing that my Father is well cared for and cared about. Accolade Health Care is exceptional.

My mother is on the phone with me as I am typing this review and she is in a lot of pain. She has kidney issues and she turned on her call light. A CNA entered the room and left telling her that she would have the nurse come in. It has been 26 minutes and no one has come back to her room. I am tempted to call her an ambulance myself! This is not the first time they've have ignored her calls as well as others. She has expressed this type of behavior specifically on the 3rd shift. Please do not let the 5 stars coming from employees of Accolades cloud the truth of how the staff treats their patients.

I would recommend this place to anyone who needs to place a loved one in nursing home facility. My mom was there for about 4 months & the staff went out of their way while she was there & in making sure she had what she needed to get back home I’m Carolyn McClure , I was put in rehab here after falling. My injury caused me to have pain in lower body & I thought I was never going to be able to overcome the pain & immobility. They continued to work with me even though I didn’t want to & now I’m up & physically walking because of them. They are excellent with their service & rehab & they truly care about their patients.

I am so disappointed in this nursing home. My Father and my Mother in law are both in there right now. My Father broke his hip and fractured some bones in his back. Their physical therapist are good but the nursing home lacks in every other aspect. My Mother in law is just left to lay in bed and sleep all the time. They do nothing to encourage her to do anything else, My Father has Alzheimer and is not adjusting well.He cannot understand why he cannot go home. He says he wants to die and they stick him in an ambulance and send him to the psych ward in the hospital. This just disrupts him more. I have no use for the way this nursing home is run. They are strictly run for profit only. They have caused so much emotional turmoil for my poor Mother. We are moving him as soon as we can. I just found out one of the nurses was yelling a mty Father last night. Several of the other patients let my Mother know about it.,

This is going to be that review you're looking for when you're desperate to find a new place & hunting for every last bit of info you can find. Translate: long. You cannot please 100% of the people 100% of the time. Especially true if our loved one is a little grumpy, feisty, or difficult because they'd rather be "home"...but, man...you can see they try hard to do exactly that. I spend a great deal of time trying to hold back tears after a visit because I can't believe how much better this place is than every other facility I've had to settle for until now. Are there people lined up just sitting in wheelchairs in the hallway as one review stated? Yeah. It's a little crowded at times. But they're not holed up in their rooms & I'm pretty confident these residents benefit from a change in scenery, a chance to socialize a little if they're able, or just "people watch"...that's like an old timey version of facebook...I don't know why it alarms people. Additionally, they're immediately infront of the nurses station where they can get help easily if needed. The staff IS nice, that's true. More importantly, they're attentive. This is the 3rd facility where my mother's roommate is a, umm..."frequent cryer". Historically I've had staff at other places say things like "yeah, she does that all the time" or dismiss it as something that couldn't be helped. At Accolade...EVERY TIME so far it's been followed (QUICKLY) by a staff member popping up to see what she needs or wants. Back to another review's comment about smelling like feces or urine...perhaps, very briefly. You know...like at home for a few minutes after you drop some friends off at the pool? Is it constant or lingering? Absolutely not. The food is...FOOD. And there are choices for meals. Not the portioned out slop the other facilities served. My mother lost 50 pounds since she entered nursing homes but she sure is eating now! I've also seen them offering snacks & treats between meals. Cleanliness & overall appearance of the facility is really impressive. The furniture in my mother's room has a few little signs of use but everything is clean & in working order. The common areas are gorgeous! You know how you see pictures online or in a brochure & when you get to the facility you're like "ummm, exactly where are the rooms from the pictures?!?" You're not getting catfished by the pics you're seeing. I would say the spaces probably look a little better in person. It's not an overstatement to describe them as looking a bit elegant. The facility is just one floor. If you've ever dealt with a long line at an elevator in another facility I've probably just sold you on this place with that alone. It SHOULD be a given but unfortunately it's not...I've seen NO rigns of roaches or mice & I've been informed that they have a maintenance schedule to keep it that way. I don't know if I'm allowed to use names so let's call this staff member "Dandy", which is probably short for "Dandra". Right out of the gate it was apparent that "Dandy" cared about making my mother as happy & comfortable as possible. She anticipated my (non-verbal) mother's needs/likes/wants. Not just once or twice, but several times. My mother lights up when she sees "Dandy". I have to think this means "Dandy" does this all the time...not just for show when we're there. My mom can be a bit of a pill so I find myself sometimes apologizing for this on her behalf. Staff responded to this by enthusiastically saying "no, we love the fun ones!". I assure you, that's not a way my mother has been described. Ever. I suggest you do exactly what a staff member said in a reply to one less-than-glowing review...go see for yourself. I went, a couple of times, different times of day, unannounced. I know they have a few good reviews but nothing like they should have. It's like if a handful of people said The Beetles were a good band...doesn't quite paint a full picture. Definitely go see for yourself...AND REVIEW THEM.

This place is horrible..they leave residents in the hallways for hours..it consistently smelled of urine and feces...there dinners were slop..chopped up hot dogs and canned veggies or u can't distinguish what it was mystery meat..I hated having my mom there..first chance I got to get out of there I ran..maybe there under new management now but my experience was unforgettable..
