When my mom toured Sunrise of Olympia Fields on two separate occasions, we were impressed with the very welcoming atmosphere with friendly people and active, lively, and diverse residents. Director of Sales Kathy Lorenz met with us both days and led our tour, and she was extremely helpful and responsive to my parents' needs and all of our questions. And we loved the size of the independent living duplex Villa we saw and its proximity to the main building where residents' meals and activities take place. All in all, a lovely community!

My sister, Ellen, lived at Sunrise Senior Living in Olympia Fields IL for more than 5 years. These were happy years for her. She passed away April 11, 2026. While at Sunrise she had wonderful friends and the staff was kind and efficient. She had everything she needed and wanted. I can highly recommend this property. My family and I attended an egg hunt event last year. The property inside and out was beautiful and clean. I set up time to tour an available unit to consider relocating my elderly grandparents. After the tour, I was ready to move them in the next day!! Although they decided to remain out of state, I’ve held onto the information for future reference and we went back to hunt for Easter eggs with the kiddos this year, too! Thank you, Sunrise!

Sunrise of Olympia Fields is the premier place for senior living. From the moment you walk in the lobby, you will be able to see the excellence with which it is run. From the receptionists that warmly greet you to the staff that is fastidious, professional and polite with accommodating your needs. The director of this facility, Lisa, takes the time and care to take a personal interest in the residents and their families. Having had both of my parents stay there, with my mom being there for over a decade, I know that there is no better place that my parents could have hoped to stay. The personal care and concern for my parents as if they were their parents, has been such a comfort to me and my family. I can’t say enough good things about this awesome, wonderful place. If you’re looking for someplace for your loved one where quality, care, kindness, and excellence is the order of the day, look no further! Sunrise of Olympia Fields is the place!!!

I have had the pleasure of working with Katy and Kathy with Sunrise Senior Living in Olympia Fields for several years, and they consistently exceed every expectation. As someone who has worked helping seniors for many years, I’ve found Sunrise of Olympia Fields to be a consistently strong option for older adults. The community has a very large Independent Living offering, with additional care services available as residents’ needs evolve, which provides great flexibility and peace of mind. They also have Assisted Living available on the same campus. There are limited communities in the south suburbs that offer Independent Living, especially at a comparable value, so they truly fill an important gap. It’s been a reliable solution for many of the seniors and families I’ve worked with over the years.

I had the pleasure of working with the Sunrise community as a Social Service Director of a nearby SNF Rehab, and I can confidently say it is a truly exceptional place. The staff are always helpful, compassionate, and dedicated to providing the best care and support to residents and their families. Everyone works as a team and genuinely cares. The facility itself is beautiful, clean, welcoming, and well-maintained, creating a warm environment that feels like home. My residents were always excited to make it back home here or to make it their new home! I highly recommend this community to anyone looking for quality care and a wonderful place to live. Also a bonus is Katy who will walk you and your family through the transition to the Sunrise family!

I am always impressed with the wonderful care and communication from the team at Sunrise. They really go the extra mile to have engaging events for their residents. The recent renovations turned out beautiful and really promote upscale living. Their staff are personable, and take an active interest in their residents and families. It's hard to find reliable aging care facilities but this is one of them. Highly recommend checking them out, definitely worth traveling a bit further for if the community is out of your area.

Our Mary Lou has adjusted beautifully to Sunrise. She is making friends, participating in many of the activities (including building jigsaw puzzles that are set up in the hallways) and visiting around. The facility is so inviting and welcoming, and the staff is beyond compare.

For the most part the experience was good but the system for dispensing medication needs improvement. Also the installation of the toilet is to far from the wall which causes damage if pushed on to hard. They need to install a block to insure safety. The manager is also rude and unsure about different areas of the maintenance team.

Team members are kind and are willing to work together. The menu has had many upgrades including Lobster and other specialty seafood items. Lisa is a very supportive director. Sunrise is recovering well from the Pandemic.

Food offerings are average; nothing to rave about. Recently took away lunch option for residents included in rent. Only offering breakfast and dinner. Most residents are not happy that a banana costs $1.50. Most ala carte items at lunch are over priced. Since before the beginning of COVID, the care and compassion for the residents has been going downhill. Not enough staff to care for the daily needs of the residents. The employees are nice enough but the director, Lisa, has poor communication skills with the residents. I know and have 3 people that I care for living here and they would love to move somewhere else. But where? It seems with talking to other friends that every senior care facility has pretty much changed to the same program as Sunrise. The reviews that mention Brookdale are very old (over 4 years). When it was Brookdale it was a fine place and that is why my mom went here. But things have changed..

We moved my mom into Sunrise Villa in December of 2019. She was reluctant to leave her home for a community living setting. But we could see that she was no longer preparing meals for herself, and she was having difficulty taking her medications when she was supposed to. Even when we brought food to her, she was not preparing (warming) it. And filling her pill boxes was no longer sufficient. We knew that she needed help with those two things (meals and meds) immediately. We brought her over to visit and go on a tour. She liked it, but she was not sold on it. Knowing that she needed help with meals and meds, we could wait no longer. We put money down on a two-bedroom, two bath unit on the first floor. We chose a two bedroom because it most resembled her three-bedroom condo that was her home...and it made downsizing a little easier. Plus, we thought that one day she might need a 24/7 caregiver given that she had recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. It did not take long for this to become her new home. We were afraid that new routines would be difficult for her, but she did just fine. Staff was very helpful in welcoming her. After living independently here for two years, we noticed that she needed more help eating and getting around. One year ago, we hired a 24/7 caregiver through the agency (GYC) that works with Sunrise Villa. She loves the companionship with Christy, and the two of them get along very well. And Christy is my right hand...she is so helpful not only to mom, but to me, too. One day, I suspect that she may have to move to assisted living, or a memory care facility. Sunrise Villa offers an assisted living setting, and Sunrise Flossmoor, a mile away, offers memory care living. But, for now, mom (and I) feels blessed living where she does, with Christy. She will often tell me how happy and fortunate she is to be living the life she lives, where she lives. We will do our best to keep her right where she is, where she feels safe and cared for. Sunrise Villa is now her home.

My parents moved to Sunrise the spring of 2017. They absolutely LOVED it. I did too. The staff and the residents were amazing. When you walk in the doors it is so inviting and you just feel so comfortable. There are always so many activities and things to do - no holiday is forgotten. It's a gorgeous building which has extra large rooms for special events and don't forget Friday Happy Hour (pre-COVID). My mom passed away in 2019 and my dad moved to their Assisted Living area downstairs after that. Dad's dementia worsened and it broke my heart to move him - spring of 2021. I had no choice but to move him to a memory care community. Dad passed a few months ago but I will never forget the most wonderful last few years of my mom's life. I will never badmouth a community but was not happy with where he ended up - not due to my research but because of the lack of knowledge with the nurses/CNA's in dealing with dementia. There are not enough stars to give Sunrise for all they do and for providing a wonderful place for my parents. I researched high and low and did my due diligence in looking for the perfect place and no other community compares to Sunrise. This post is late coming but wanted to let people know what a wonderful community it is!

My mother has resided at Brookdale of Olympia Fields for four years. This community has been amazing! Their personal care and attention have made this journey for my family as convenient as possible. From the fun and detailed decorating for every holiday to a final decision to move my mom to a memory care facility, they have been there! Special thanks to Patty, Jessie and Jessica for all your kindness and guidance. Last, but not least, Mary at the front desk is a ray of sunshine and such a pleasure to deal with. Brookdale was a perfect choice for our family.
