I cannot say enough good things about Charter Senior Living of Hazel Crest. I chose Charter for my mother after her brain surgery, and it became a true home for her and a source of comfort for our family. The staff was caring, consistent, and compassionate, and the facility was clean, welcoming, and well maintained. Jenea, Nic, Kenya, Eunicetein, Jose, Aleia, and so many others showed genuine love and dedication to the residents and their families. In my mom’s final days, the care she received brought us great peace. Aleia went above and beyond by staying with my mom after her shift so she would not be alone, and that compassion reflected the culture at Charter. I am deeply grateful for the compassionate care they gave my mother and the comfort they gave our family. I would highly recommend Charter Senior Living of Hazel Crest.

My aunt is a resident at charter, going on a year. Love the staff there and they love her.The nurses are great, especially Olga and Joyce.When she was sick they stayed on it and called me to inform me with everything.The aids are great and sit with her to keep her company, when she feels lonely.The director and nursing supervisor, comes a talk to her. Just love love the the staff at charter .Also the executive director Janna.She’s always available to talk to you about any concerns.The front desk staff are so polite.

We cannot say enough about this facility. From the first time I talked with Jenae, I knew this was the place for our mom. The nursing staff is excellent. We are out of state but they made sure we were always informed about everything involved with moms care. More importantly mom was very happy there. Would highly recommend Charter for senior care.

It was my first time visiting a friend in Charter Senior Living of Hazel Crest and I was very impressed with what I saw. The facility is very clean, orderly with well established safety measures in place. The safe was warm and professional and made me feel welcome. I left feeling grateful that my friend is being well taken care of!

I was surprised to learn there wasn't a back-up generator on the premise. I have a concern that there isn't carpet in all the common areas, in case of accidental falls. I am confident in the staff to attend to my loved one . It's been a year . She is doing well here at Charter.

Our eldest sister has lived @ Charter of Hazel Crest about 4 years. The staff is amazing...very warm, loving, dedicated, professional. The nurses are "round-the-clock" available, very responsive to the needs of the residents. Whenever there are any changes/concerns regarding our sister's care, they call us...immediately...to advise. Her caregivers are very warm, loving...dedicated to her care and respectful of her as well! We never schedule appointments...something we've HAD to do at her last facility. No matter when we visit, her hygiene is on point, and she seems calm and happy. As for activities, there usually is SOMETHING GOOD going on. Whether there are refreshments in the Bistro (with or without live performers), the residents being taken out for movies (or watching movies in-house in their new movie room) and lunch/dinner, or doing group exercising, the activities appear to be well-planned, fun ventures. The facility is very pleasantly designed. There are about 4, one-story, connected buildings, with each building representing a different type/level of care for those residing within. Rooms are available with or without showers. We were allowed to bring my sister's favorite paintings, bedding, etc., to help her feel more comfortable being away from her original home. Our family has been pleased with our sister's overall care while at Charter of Hazel Crest. At this juncture, from the consistent, positive, good care of our sister our family has witnessed, I would definitely highly recommend Charter of Hazel Crest.

After asking on several occasions, it seems that the communication between 1st and 2nd shift is lacking. I have asked on several occasions to have my mom's hair brushed. Again today it was lacking.

I was impressed with everything I saw! Never have I visited a cleaner facility. All residents I saw seemed to be content. There were numerous activities for the residents to enjoy. All staff was courteous and friendly. Charter Senior Living is a great place!

This place took care of my mother for 5 YEARS. They did more than that. They loved on her and my family. Always professional but more importantly caring. They have been such a blessing. KENYA IS WONDERFUL as well as Ms. DARLENE. IF you had a doubt trust me we would have NEVER let my mom be someplace that was sub-par. They do great here!

My loved one has been at Charter for a week now, and everything is going great. We had some horrible experiences at other places. I have shopped around and personally spoke to nursing directors at no less than 2 dozen places all around western and South suburbs. Because our needs were at a higher level, it has been a very stressful experience. Finding Charter at Hazel Crest has been a relief. Everyone's kindness and service are felt and not just a sales pitch. The place is kept beautifully clean after the recent reno. Their security procedures are comforting. Jeana and the whole staff are amazing. Keep up the good work.

My 100 year old father has been in Charter for a couple of months and I couldn’t be more pleased with the care he is being given. The Director, Ms.Cole, is extremely knowledgeable and very caring in her role. She and her staff treat everyone like how they would want to be treated. You can’t ask for more than that! Please don’t let the negative comments send you away. I highly recommend Charter!

I placed my mom at Citadel Estates of Hazel Crest for a 4 day respite while I traveled out of town. I work for the state of Illinois, so I am very particular and my expectations are high. I found the facility to be very clean and well maintained. I noticed no urine smell, as is custom in a lot of places. It was small and quaint. My mom had her own private room and bathroom, as all of the residents. This was very comforting, as my mom has her own room with me. The administrator, Mr. Shepard was kind and professional. The DON was professional and thorough as she went over my mom's medications. The entire staff was nice and made my mom feel at home. I will certainly use and recommend Citadel for your loved ones. Bravo Citadel and Thank you for taking good care of my mom!
