I have my mom (97) at the Cottages of New Lenox for 2 1/2 yrs. I prayed a lot for guidance when looking for a place for mom. It was an uncertainty of times for both of us. Picking CNL was a good decision. CNL came to my mom's house for an assessment. I told them it would be a while before a decision was made. Unfortunately, 4 months later mom came to CNL. CNL held our hands to make sure the transition went smoothly. When looking for an assist. live. I had to make sure it met ALL of my moms needs--being clean, good 3 meals a day, healthcare, activities, & a friendly & professional environment. For me communication was most important with staff members . When I am unable to be there I can be sure mom is in good hands & taken care of. CNL is a gated community. A code is needed to get into the terrace & a kiosk is needed to get into each cottage. What's really nice is each resident has a private room with their own belongings. When the world gets ugly on the outside they can go to their room & have the comfort of home to relax & feel safe. The Staff does a nice job getting to know each residents likes & dislikes. Mom being an Italian always cooking for herself she can be fussy about her food. All food brought in is fresh & home cooked. The Chef & kitchen help make all holiday meals special pertaining to the holiday. There is also entertainment & church which is really important. Residences are not alone there are always activities, Admin staff, nursing are always in & out of the cottages. God has answered my prayers of finding a place for mom. The manager went above and beyond to make sure that the process of searching for a job was as seamless as possible. The atmosphere is extremely friendly and you can tell that everyone is a family there. They are always more than happy to help out on the floor.

My mom has been a resident at the cottages of new lenox for almost three years.. She has dementia and is in memory care. I am thankful for everyone at the cottages and the care that my mom receives. As she declines they are constantly finding ways to help her adjust. They are like family and I know they treat her as if she is part of their family. I rest easy knowing she is clean, fed, entertained, safe and most important loved there.

I want to tell EVERYONE about a great place for your loved one that may need a little help. The staff at Cottages of New Lenox are so kind and really look out for their residents. My mother in law struggled at two other facilities before she moved to the Cottages. She was very depressed and had given up on life. Now she is happy and her health and mobility have improved beyond what we hoped for.Thank you Scot for taking such wonderful care of our elders.

Hands down there is no better place for your loved one to be. The cottages of new lenox provides a loving family atmosphere. As a nurse myself, I hold care given to a very high degree and I would highly recommend the cottages to anyone who finds themselves in the situation of having to make the hard decision of putting someone you love into a facility. From Scot, the director of nursing to the nurses and CNAs who become like family, you will not find a better place to trust with your loved ones. It wasnt until I found the cottages of new lenox that I could be at peace with this difficult decision.

My name is Betty and my family placed my loved one at the Cottages of New Lenox recently. I live out of state now and I cannot be involved in their care, but the Cottages keep me up to date on their Facebook page. I have spoke with Scot, who is the Director of Nursing several times and he is very professional and truly cares about his job and the residents who live at the Cottages. Kallie who is the Marketing lady was our first impression. She did a phone conversation with our entire family the week before moving our loved one to the Cottages. She did an excellent job with our needy family. We recommend the cottages because they have kept her safe and comfortable during this crazy time.

We could not be more comfortable with the decision we made for moms new home at The Cottages! As all nursing care facilities were challenged during this pandemic we were in need of a home quickly! We asked people for their recommendations and The Cottages kept coming up! What really stands out is their accessibility to the family during a time when we can not be with our mom! Alda the director reached out to me on a Sunday to answer some questions i had! Lainie the activity director-PR is the most caring human! I live out of state and I am responsible for my elderly fathers well being; a very challenging role at times. I urgently needed to find a new home my father and was fortuneately referred to the cottages of New Lenox. The representatives I spoke with were extremely professional and understood my fathers needs and my concerns. They were able to immediately begin the transition of care of my father and his dog from his original facility to the Cottages of New Lenox with me being thousands of miles away.He has been in the care of the Cottages for several months now and I am very impressed with the care he is receiving and the staff at the Cottages of New Lenox. His past facilities were slow to respond to issues and were late with his medications or never dispensed them. At the cottages the staff to patient ratio is excellent and I am confidant he is given his medications on time. Communication with the RN and the Executive Director are phenomenal. I am very happy with the staff, the facility and the positive energy they bring to their work. Thank you all for what you do!

Caring for complex human beings who can no longer care for themselves is a challenging job in the best of times In 2020, during a dangerous pandemic, it is a Herculean task in so many ways. The Cottages of New Lenox has so many dedicated staff members who work tirelessly to not just protect their residents from the virus, but to care for the emotional needs of both residents and families who are so stressed by the difficult but necessary restrictions. This Thanksgiving, I am thankful that my dear 96 yr-old aunt made the move to The Cottages of New Lenox in March, 2020. I have some loving partners there as along with other family members, I do my best to help her navigate this period of her life.

Through this challenging process of finding a new home for our mom, The Cottages have done a remarkable job of taking care of her! We were very concerned about this transition. However everything went so smoothly. We were able to bring all her own furnishing and pictures for the walls. They have an amazing cook-chef that makes homemade meals. He just requested a meat smoker for the residents! They regularly have doggie visits! I can go on and on. Lets just say our mom loves it and so do we!

The Cottages of New Lenox has been very kind, caring and compassionate towards our loved one. They have kept us abreast of anything going on, brought us up to date on any issue. The staff treat everyone like family. I like the individual small buildings vs a big complex. Navigating the COVID health crisis has been an adjustment for all. The pandemic only deepened our struggle,as we have been working so hard to keep everyone healthy.Dad and our family were welcomed in and guided with genuine warmth and compassion while simultaneously upholding rigorous safety standards for keeping the residents that they care for healthy. Really enjoyed the time we spent at The Cottages. Tim O'Neil (The Director) was a pleasure to work with. In most cases, the care of your loved one is only as good as the day the caregiver is having. However, I see Tim's management, of The Cottages, as definitely raising the standards in the level of care and attention given to those we care about so deeply. I took my commitment to Jim seriously and was daily, very involved in his care. Through this, the staff became much like family. I have great respect for them and for the jobs they do. I wish I could name each one of them but I'm afraid I'll leave someone out so you know who you are when I say Thank you for your kindness and gentleness. When your time comes, to need the level of care that The Cottages offers, may you be met with the same care that you extended to Jim and I.

The Cottages of New Lenox helped us to make the transition for my MIL a positive experience. Tim ONeil and his staff celebrate all facets of senior life and make sure each and every resident has a multitude of opportunities to celebrate their life with engaging appropriate activities (thank you Michelle and Lainie). Not only is it wonderful to see our loved one come out of her shell and enjoy what time she has left, but also to see her anxiety greatly reduced about the drastic change in her lifestyle. The nursing staff is conscientious, compassionate and caring and makes sure each resident gets quality care. The care they exhibit is unmatched. We have found The Cottages to be unlike any other facility we visited and are glad to have this caliber of care close to our home. Thank you doesnt even do it justice.

I am so happy with the cottages. The culture is warm, inviting and welcoming. Plenty of great activities and staff really care. Culture always starts at the top. Tim Oneil does a tremendous job appreciating and celebrating the staff and it shows!
