My mother in law moved into a unit in Sedgebrook this year. She was previously living alone in Arizona, so we wanted her to live closer, but not in her own home, where she would have to take care of the yard and any maintenance issues that came up. She is able to live independently, and Sedgebrook has been the perfect solution! Katie Gomez, the Lifestyle Counselor, was so helpful in guiding us through our decision. She helped assess my MIL's needs and we found the perfect layout for her, after walking through lots of options. Katie was so gracious with all of our questions and was incredibly knowledgeable and patient. With their on-site doctor's office and hair salon, parking garages, and monitored front gate, we are thrilled that life is a bit easier for my MIL at Sedgebrook. Additionally, there are cleaning, handyman, and dry cleaning services that are readily available. For leisure, there is an indoor pool and workout facility, a garden for residents to plant in, an art room stocked with so many supplies, a media room and library, and so much more! The two dining areas (The Bistro which is like a Panera and The Shoreline which is more of a formal dining room) offer a variety of options that rotate weekly to keep it exciting and fresh. I dine there often with my husband and our two children. My kids get especially excited to hear the daily ice cream flavors! We have been incredibly happy with my MIL's decision to move to Sedgebrook. We are comforted knowing there are lots of planned activities for her to take part in as well as other residents who are so welcoming and friendly. She is frequently asked to dine with other guests when she goes to dinner by herself and has enjoyed meeting new people this way. Being friendly seems to really be embedded in everyone who lives there. We are very pleased with Sedgebrook!

My siblings and I knew Sedgebrook was the perfect fit for our parents as soon as we drove on to the beautiful property. They have a spacious patio apartment that looks out to a very pretty pond and green space. They are very independent but love the conveniences Sedgebrook provides them. The garage parking in the winter is great, and they both love going to the restaurants instead of having to cook all the time. They have a lot of new friends and I feel great knowing they’re having so much fun. Don’t give it a second thought “ move to Sedgebrook!

I fell in love with Sedgebrook from the beginning! My place is cozy and the perfect size for me. Everyone is very friendly, my circle expanded immediately. I am involved in so many activities that I am never bored. My favorite is the swimming pool. I love to swim for exercise and go just about everyday! The staff and residents are so friendly. I love socializing in the dining room and really enjoy the variety. If you want maintenance-free living this is the place to live. Also, we have 24/7 security which makes me feel safe. Living at Sedgebrook is like living on a cruise ship that will extend your life!! After 8 years, I’m happier than ever!!

I recently toured The Sedgebrook, and it immediately felt like one of the warmest, most thoughtfully run senior communities I’ve visited. The staff were genuinely kind and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment I walked in. The community spaces were bright, modern, and inviting”more like a friendly neighborhood than a facility”and I loved the unique walkways that stretched over the streets. Residents were active, social, and clearly comfortable, giving the whole community an uplifting, connected energy. The apartments were just as impressive: spacious, full of natural light, beautifully maintained, and each with its own unique architectural charm. Because I work closely with older adults and their families, I pay close attention to culture and communication. Sedgebrook truly exceeded my expectations, and I left with such a warm, positive impression.

I regularly present at senior centers and living communities, and I felt compelled to take a moment to recognize the exceptional job Sedgebrook is doing. First and foremost, their residents are genuinely happy. You can see it in their interactions ” with one another and with the staff. There’s an ease and warmth that you can't manufacture it just has to be. Several staff members were moving throughout the event, and what stood out immediately was how engaged they were. They know the residents. The residents clearly trust them. There’s familiarity, respect, and authentic connection that stood out. The space itself is clean, warm, and spacious ” but more important than the physical environment is the atmosphere. It feels like a community that is truly invested in the well-being of the people who live there. I visit many facilities throughout the year, and I can honestly say I wish more places demonstrated this level of care and dedication. Kudos to the entire Sedgebrook team.

The landscaping at Sedgebrook is well maintained and the view from our apartment is beautiful. What I like best is that I don’t have to maintain anything, if I need any maintenance, someone is available to help and fix it. We don’t have to cook here -we enjoy going to the dining room. I looked at other places and they all offered the same until I saw this apartment here and it was a given that I was going to choose Sedgebrook. I’ve been here for a year and what I like best about it is that it’s like home. You can do what you want if you want to take part in it. Or you don’t if you don’t want to. The food is excellent and the activities are superb! this place also has a swimming pool. It has any kind of activity you want. You can play bridge, you can learn Spanish, you can do a multitude of exercise classes there is a convenience store. It’s just a good place to be. The staff and residents are happy and friendly. When I moved in, it felt like I was in a luxury hotel.

When the idea came up as to moving to a retirement community I wasn’t sure it was for us. I dragged one foot. My wife and the kids visited several retirement community. I stayed home. ( grown kids I may add) One day much to my surprise they came home hoping and hollering . I thought we won the lottery. Honey you must come and see this one. Sedgebrook. With some hesitation I agreed. As we drove up I couldn’t help but see the well kept grounds. Walking paths and beautiful landscape. We parked and went inside; getting ready for a tour. Jean , my wife and the kids had several units picked out. As I walked in the first one I knew this was it. I continued seeing others but knew this was it. We’ve been here 6 years and must say it was one of the best decisions we’ve made. From many activities, no dishes, swimming exercises, movies, medical and a host of friends; my wife loves the fact in six years she has not turned on the stove. If I could click my heels and be back in Park Ridge, NO Way. This is the place to be.

Sedgebrook creates a welcoming atmosphere by greeting guests with a smile and are helpful with anything you need. There are programs for everyone. The staff is especially helpful in offering activities.. The staff listens to recommendations and accommodates in anyway they can. The residents who have been living here are always willingly to help.. If you want to meet people all you have to do it sit down and say hello. Everyone is so friendly.
