Love this place! The decor is fabulous. Hats off to the interior designer. I feel well taken care of by all the staff, who are always friendly and caring. Have made many new friends. One suggestion: Follow the lead of other Senior Centers. Offer valet services Monday through Friday. It is difficult to get doctors' appointments on certain days now. The appointments can be months out if you ask for a particular day.

My father moved to independent living at Green Oaks Senior Living in the summer of 2022. He unfortunately passed away 15 months later, but not a week went by that he didn't thank me for finding this place for him. He was so happy at Green Oaks, and had nothing bad to say. The front desk staff genuinely cared about him and missed him if he didn't show up at breakfast. They checked on him, brought him his mail or a meal if he wasn't feeling well, and fostered a sense of community that extended even to me as a family member. Sheri does a great job of keeping everyone active, with organized activities every day for the body, the mind, the soul, and social connections. The janitorial staff always had smiles for my dad and were willing to help him hang pictures or fix anything he needed. I visited at least once or twice a week and the entire place always looked spotless, with cozy fires in the fireplace and puzzles in process on tables. There were almost always little huddles of friends chatting in corners. My father gave up driving just before moving here - but he didn't miss it. There were always trips organized in the Green Oaks van to anywhere he wanted to go (medical appointments, grocery stores, outings, etc). He loved his apartment, and his view of the lake out the back was beautiful. He enjoyed fishing off the pier when he was up to it. There is also a wonderful one-mile trail around a bigger lake right next to Green Oaks if you want more nature. It is less than 10 min drive to just about any kind of shopping, restaurant or service he would ever need, close to the VA hospital as well as 3 other excellent hospitals, and just off the expressway for easy access to downtown Chicago. Green Oaks gave my dad a fantastic last year of life, and we recommend this place to anyone.

We toured the Green Oaks facility in Libertyville for our mother. There are many choices of apartments, in which are updated and spacious. The grounds are beautiful and the kindness of the tenants when we were touring, shows they are happy where they live. Susan Weisbond was our guide. She was wonderful. She's is very knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions. During a difficult decision making time, Green Oaks made this alot easier!

My decision to move my father to Green Oaks from another highly regarded senior living arrangement in Norridge was not one made lightly. In the previous facility he had navigated through their multiple tiers of service to the nursing wing. While he was well cared for and looked after, the crowded hospital-floor-like environment was not at all what I wanted for him at the end of his life. It was the Covid lockdown and he was safe and cared for. I set aside my guilt. A year later I connected with Susan Weisbond at Green Oaks. I was completely unaware that my father still had options. Susan introduced me to the much more robust and capable memory care team at Green Oaks and their facility. I was floored. The building looked new. My father could have his own room again, with a window view out to a beautiful pond. The spaces are warm, inviting and ample. Nothing is crowded. People are smiling. This is what I wanted for my dad in his last days. Since moving him in June the love and care he has received from the staff has been amazing. Jennifer Grupe, the Memory Care manager is attentive and resourceful. She will roll up her sleeves and is a fantastic leader. Team members Jaz, Ella and Vanessa have been especially wonderful to my dad and have formed tight bonds with him that I thought not possible in this type of care setting. I see these staffers sharing that same level of love, compassion and care with all the residents. It restores my peace of mind and assures me my fathers last days will be content and comfortable. I couldn’t be more thrilled. Highly recommended!

My mother in law has lived at Green Oaks since it opened. She often says that the best thing about Green Oaks is the other residents. She has found everyone to be interesting and engaging, and has made many good friends in the few years shes been there. The current staff is upbeat and works hard to keep things working smoothly during the pandemic. They have adjusted the activities so that they can continue to provide fun, social interaction in a safe way. Green Oaks has numerous lounges, courtyards and common areas so that the residents can visit with one another in a socially distanced way outside of their apartments. There is always someone to visit with. We would recommend Green Oaks Senior Living without hesitation.

The facility is lovely and the staff that is in place is great. The receptionists at the front desk are caring and helpful and the activity crew is working hard to provide fun and interesting things to do. The other residents are upbeat and interesting and our mother is making some wonderful new friends. The many sitting rooms and patios give a spaciousness to the residents environment by adding alternative spots to visit with their family and friends. New hires and other improvements in the dining room are making the dining time an enjoyable experience. Update during the covid-19 pandemic. Green Oaks has taken many appropriate measures to ensure the residents stay healthy while still working hard to meet their social needs. Residents sign up for the activities they would like to participate in so that the staff can plan how to provide fun, social interaction in a safe way. (Masks are required when outside their apartments or when they host visitors.) The common areas are open and chairs are marked to help residents visit in a socially distanced way and provides safe options for the residents to visit with their friends. Our mother continues to say how happy she is at Green Oaks even during the pandemic. She has made numerous close friendships and finds everyone interesting and friendly. She often stops by another residents apartment or they come by for visit. Residents also meet up to go for a walk in the building and end up seeing other friends. She is content and happy at Green Oaks... and were pleased, too.

My husband and I have now lived in Green Oaks Senior Living in Libertyville for three plus years, and we love it here. Our director, David Williams cares about our needs and health. During the pandemic he has made sure that we stay safe, while meeting our social needs as best as possible. Our Chef and cooks try very hard to make sure our meals are delicious, and we have a variety of choices. Social directors, maintenance staff, and servers are caring and work very hard to keep us happy and safe. We are a family of residents that truly love and care for each other. I would not want to live anywhere else! Thank you and God Bless.

We needed a place to move my mother after a fall where she could receive more attention. After meeting with Celina and Larissa, we knew we were in the right place. They are truly professional and were extremely helpful in this difficult time. We looked at several really nice units and picked one we knew my mom would love. The residents couldnt have been more welcoming to my mom, which really eased her apprehension. Once we moved her in, Allison was wonderful in making sure mom received everything she needed. We couldnt be happier with our decision to move mom here!

My 94 year old parents moved in Green Oaks last November after living in their home of 65 years. They were quite reluctant to move out of their home, but have now found a new place to call home that allows them to be together, have their freedom (in a safer environment), and enjoy their social life!! They rave about the facility, staff & residents (most have lived their since it opened). There are so many activities and events for them to enjoy, surely something for everyone. It has been such a positive experience for my parents and all of their family visiting. I would recommend Green Oaks senior living to anyone looking, its been such a positive experience for us from the moment we took our first tour.

I have worked In a lot of senior living communities. Between the employees and the residents these are the most kind hearted, generous, sweet people I have ever met. If you were to ask me to name something that needed improvement, honestly I could say theres absolutely nothing they can do better. They hire great people, there residents blow me over with how Sweet and understanding, generous and just plain fun loving. My company works in this community we are the home care company, Im a client carer coordinator. So all I can say is if You are looking for employment or a wonderful place to live It is undoubtedly Green Oaks senior living in Libertyville.
