Today I had the pleasure of attending another wonderful event at Lake Barrington Woods, and it did not disappoint! A huge shoutout to Jessica C. Meyer, Vicki Striegel and of course Chef Nicko who absolutely knocked it out of the park with the incredible homemade pizzas. Every pizza was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. It was easy to see the care and passion that went into every bite”and yes, they were absolutely delicious! Beyond the amazing food, what made the event truly special was the opportunity to reconnect with so many friendly, familiar faces. Building relationships and spending time with such a welcoming community is always a highlight of networking events.

Our friend's parents live there and we have eaten there and visited many times. This community is one of the nicest in the area. The staff are friendly, kind and supportive. The community is beautiful and clean. The meals we have shared with them are delicious and the servers are attentive. Our friend's parents have joined water aerobics and book club -- there always seems to be something going on to keep residents engaged.

staff are very warm, caring & competent. my mom likes the food! there are lots of activites & the residents are pretty friendly. facility is clean & well kept. i am extremely relieved at the condition of this place vs the other resudential homes ive seen. the mothers day brunch was impressive. but unacceptable to have no plan for an overflowing nighttime toilet so i had to clean it up with our towels

A beautiful community surrounded by nature! Lake Barrington Woods has such a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere with gorgeous green space all around. Inside, the accommodations are just as impressive, warm and home- like with so many inviting common areas. Residence enjoy a wonderful variety of activities and social events, including happy hour, Restaurant, style dining, and a great heated swimming pool. When I visited, residents were participating in water aerobics, and it was wonderful to see how engaging happy everyone was. A truly vibrant and caring community!

I have recently passed my second anniversary at Lake Barrington Woods. I have not regretted my decision. The facility is very nice, and I am quite happy with my apartment. The staff - wait staff and caregivers - are considerate and patient. There are many meal options, and the food is good. I have made friends and the schedule of activities provides something for everyone. You can keep as busy as you'd like.

My parents moved in 4 years ago. The staff, from housekeeping, to maintenance, care staff and administration honestly care about the residents and go above and beyond to care for them. My father recently passed at home with hospice support. The staff was so loving and gracious. They continue to care for my mom, understanding her needs have changed and are working so that she can continue age in place. They are truly a blessing!

My mother has the greatest caregivers and nurses here. She's really taken care of here. She enjoys everyone, and I'm so thankful she's in a safe and caring place now. Living alone before here was getting problematic. The Woods solved all her needs. The food is great and the activities are plentiful and wonderful. I'd make the same decision again, and I'd recommend this facility to anyone needing Independent or Assisted Living. Handicap parking and access available.

My Mom recently went to Lake Barrington Woods Senior Facility for rehab, she is now staying full-time. The entire staff is Amazing, Caring and Kind. The facility feels like home but better. It is clean, comfortable, fun, lots of activities to do, dining room food is wonderful. I wish I had everyone's name but Special shout out to Rebecca, Margarita, Amanda, Sherri, Taylor, Vicki and all the staff at Lake Barrington Woods! Your the Best!

I spent a 6-month respite at Lake Barrington Woods during the height of the COVID crisis. What a wonderful transition from hospital to home. Everyone remained friendly and helpful, strictly following CDC guidelines and staying dependable and professional. Lake Barrington Woods has to be the nicest facility and staff I have ever witnessed, heard about, researched etc. The physical structure of this facility is that of a home, not an institution. Chris Anderson and all of the staff at Lake Barrington Woods are incredible.

After having researched retirement communities for some months the choice of Lake Barrington Woods became clear. Recognizing line staffing, culinary and department leadership as being considerations for finding a place for our aunt, LBW appeared to excel over the area competition. And we weren't disappointed. With any transition, time has revealed some issues along the way. But having met with the Executive Director over a couple of small issues, our family couldn't be more happy with his having remedied our concerns. The issues were point-of-care related -- yet line staffers responded quickly and consistently. Once the issues were identified and understood, they were resolved more than satisfactorily! Kudos to the entire LBW team.

LBW was a wonderful, caring, compassionate, and professional facility that my mom called home for a year and a half. I do miss the staff and Ben who took my mom under his wings. It was with a heavy heart that our family had to move mom to another facility close to my sister in Indiana. No comparison to LBW. If I win the lottery, mom will be back at the place she fondly called home. Thank you to the most professional staff with huge hearts.

Our mom liked LBW so much after 2 weeks of respite care she decided it was time to become a resident. She loves her unit, the beautiful facility, and we all love the staff. From day one they have all greeted her by name. It’s obvious to us LBW puts great effort into hiring genuine, caring people. During the Covid19 lockdown, LBW has been vigilant the with safety of their residents, but have found creative ways to keep residents occupied and connected. They offer their residents video chat with loved ones via their tablets/iPads, which has been a great blessing for us family who live out-of-state. Staff member Ben Pawlik has made himself accessible for all tech related issues and sets up our video chats flawlessly. LBW makes us all feel like we’re part of one big family. They have gone above and beyond to make my mom feel safe and loved, and she happily considers LBW 'home'.

My mom had a hard time leaving her home of 45 years. We searched everywhere in our area for a place where she would be comfortable. We went to Lake Barrington woods, and had a wonderful gal by the name of Peggy who showed us around. Peggy had the patience of a saint. My mother couldn’t make up her mind and we left. Long story short she decided that she was going to give it a try. She moved in and never has looked better. She has met wonderful people, the staff is outstanding, and the food by chef Niko is wonderful! During this difficult time Lake Barrington Woods has taken every precaution to make sure their residents are safe and has had 0 cases of the virus, which speaks volumes. My husband and I will move there when the time comes!

We moved my mother-in-law here last month, and the entire experience from start to finish has been wonderful! The staff has been welcoming, caring, dedicated, professional and above all lots of fun. LBW is absolutely wonderful! My mom moved in about 2 months ago, and she is so happy there. The apartments are beautiful and there are lots of activities for the residents to enjoy. The food has been delicious, and my mom has already made a lot of friends. We looked around for over a year, and this place was overall the nicest place we looked at. The staff is so friendly and helpful and we couldn't be happier. Our family feels so good about my mom being at LBW and feel she is "safe". Thank you Lake Barrington Woods for all you do! 🙂

My dad is in assisted living at Lake Barrington Woods. When we initially toured he loved how modern and nice it looked, and the deal closer for him was their pool. Move in went very smooth, in spite of my mom having just passed away. All of the staff who are very friendly has continued to be extremely accommodating and helpful. They have continued to encourage him to meet people and become involved. He really likes being there, Which warms my heart. He also loves the food there, which for him was a very big deal. I know he is in capable good hands and feel confident that he is well taken care of. ;). 5 stars for this Retirement home, I think it’s awesome and I love the people who work there, and more importantly, so does he.

We visited many senior living facilities before selecting Lake Barrington Woods for my in-law parents. They have many floor plans for the apartments which are all with large windows and very bright with good lighting. All the apartments are larger than any comparative facility in the area. The staff has been wonderful with the residents and their families. The entire facility has been remodeled last year. The prices are very reasonable. They have many activities for the residents. Pictured is a recent family day with a live band, cocktails/wine/beer, appetizers, a meal and dessert. This was in the inner courtyard.

My parents made a temporary move to LBW during a dual health crisis but decided not long after to make it their permanent home. The entire staff is attentive and caring, the atmosphere is friendly, the facility is beautiful and the residents are happy! LBW is a wonderful place!

My experience with Lake Barrington Woods (LBW) was nothing short of wonderful. Having to move both parents in their mid-90’s from their home of over 60 years was a very difficult and stressful process both emotionally and physically. The entire LBW staff from the nurses, caregivers, front desk personnel and office management could not have been nicer and more caring. They made my parents and myself feel that there was true compassion and understanding about their physical and emotional needs. My parents have both since passed and I truly miss our friends at LBW. Nice independent/Assisted living facility in Lake Barrington. The facility is located on 9 acres +/- and has views of wetlands, pond and wooded area. The main living area for the residence is well planned out and has lots of function. The menu, which is the most important item, was well balanced and had a variety of different items to suit everyone's taste and needs. Only issue was the building appeared to be slightly tired looking and supposedly a complete renovation is coming this spring.
