My mother has lived at Sunrise of Gurnee for just over a year. While she started in the assisted living section, she now resides in the Reminiscence Center (memory care). In both areas, Sunrise excels in providing excellent care for both her physical and emotional needs. Since she moved in, I have not had any concerns about her well-being as I have full confidence in their staff's commitment and capabilities. I know she is in the best place for the care she needs. Their activity planning for the residents is excellent, with a lot of diverse opportunities for participation. Their dining service is also excellent, with a good variety of choices that are always fresh and delicious. Communication is very good regarding conditions affecting the community as well as those directly related to her care. I fully recommend Sunrise to anyone in search of a supporting assisted living community.

I went on a tour and was impressed with the overall energy and feel of the place. Warm, cozy, homey. Residents seems happy and engaged in various activities. It was very clean, Covid protocols were excellent. The pricing can end up on the higher side, depending on the level of assistance that the resident would need, but is not worse than other assisted living facilities. The rooms I was able to see were small, but I did not see the larger studio or the 1BR "apartment" like suite as they were all occupied. Wrigley is the Yellow Lab that greets people, which was a happy little bonus. Overall, seems like a great place for my parent to spend their sunset years if needed.

We are so grateful for the entire staff at Sunrise. For the past two years our friend Jack (91 yo) was well taken care of and loved by everyone. It is a hard time of life, but they provided him with care, love, dignity and respect. Jack enjoyed the food, the staff, bingo night, our ability to bring our dog to visit, exercise class and many other things at Sunrise. Both the staff, administration and the environment were 5 stars. I would strongly recommend Sunrise to anyone with a loved one that needs assisted living. Thanks again to Kimberly and her team at Sunrise of Gurnee!

A beautiful Victorian home lifestyle. A variety of rooms and activities. Lots of little hidden places for peaceful mediation. Residents can be as social or private as they wish. Staff was excellent. A very homey atmosphere with elegant surroundings

When I toured Sunrise, I thought their assisted living area was very nice. The person giving me the presentation sounded like they were very competent and good, but the memory care portion was very small and did not seem like mom would fit in very well. It was too limited.

If you are looking for a wonderful safe home for your loved one, look no further. My Mom was here for 2 years before she passed peacefully at 92. I cant say enough about the quality of the facility, the loving care that the staff always showed to my mom and our entire family. It was like she was wrapped in a layer of love and in a place that felt like a warm, happy home. All of the staff was always happy, cheery and respectful no matter what time of day or night we went to visit. As soon as you walked in the door it seemed like home and no matter who you ran into first, they all seemed to know where mom was and what she was doing. When we would take her out for holidays and just lunch or an outing, she was always happy to be home and this is from a sweet lady that was in her own home until she was 90. Anyone there will do anything for the residents and families before you even know that you need it. I know there are a lot of choices out there now, but I always tell everyone I know to just save the search time and go to sunrise of gurnee. The peace of mind for the family and resident is unbelievably wonderful, no more worrying about your loved one, because they are in the absolute best hands possible. From Kimberly to Eldorada and her wonderful nursing staff all the way to all the caretakers and the entire staff, they have all become family. Dont go on a big, painful search, just start with the best . If you do go out looking, there is no comparison and the quality and care is all there without a day of worry and never a second, they are in great hands, and so are the family members too. My loved ones are really enjoying the meals they are receiving. The Sunrise of Gurnee is a wonderful community with activities and meal plans available. I feel they are safe and the staff have all been all very friendly. I would recommend this community to loved ones and other families searching for a good place.
