I am so grateful that Right At Home exists. I have a 70 year old brother with mental and physical challenges, living in a care facility. As I live a long distance away, the companions chosen from Mike Steiner's group have been invaluable in their engagement with my brother as well as taking him on outings and providing some sense of normalcy after his health crisis. It helps me know that my brother's quality of life is not totally on my shoulders. Right at Home are excellent in-at -home care professionals. Zac Steiner and the office staff are very attentive to our needs and the caregivers have been really great working with my wife. My wife is non-ambulatory and has dementia. I use R@H three days a week from 8:30am to 12:30pm. They are able to get her in the shower and are very attentive to her many needs. There is a close bond between the caregiver and my wife. I am able to leave the house and not worry about the care she is getting. Thank you, Right at Home Grayslake.

We had a wonderful caregiver for my Mom; Ceci was helpful and caring. Over the months, on the few times when Ceci was unable to make it, there were 3 other caregivers, and Mom was happy with all of them. I was nervous when we first started using Right at Home about having a stranger in the house, and worried about how patient would they be with an elderly woman, would they spend the time looking at their phone....... But Right at Home does an exceptional job of screening their applicants, and then following up on the quality of the caregiver. Deb, our Care Manager, did a super job of staying in contact with me, and assisting whenever our own family schedules (trips in from family, and trips out of town for Mom) caused short notice disruptions.

The caregiver, Amber, and he have quickly developed a relationship that is built on caring, safety, and kindness. As the family, we feel more comfortable having Dad live independently in his apartment knowing that Right at Home and his new friend Amber will be visiting him weekly. I really find value in the Family Room space online where Amber shares their daily activities. They also pay for sick days and vacation! And, you will get more on your Birthday! They were also extremely accommodating to me when I explained what I could bring to them as a caregiver. They have many different types of caregivers here in that I was a Household-Homemaker Caregiver, which involves no personal care, but more companionship, light housekeeping, cooking, errands, social outings, etc. They also have Personal Care caregivers which entails the same but with more in-depth care. I have been with Right at Home for about 2 years, as they provide care for my 83 year old mother. My mother has had 3 strokes, has Alzheimers, scoliosis, and is a breast cancer survivor, to name a few things going on in her life. The staff at Right at Home have been very good at finding caregivers that work well with her to keep her active and engaged in life, which is not always easy. She loves the caregivers that come to be with her and says every day they do something fun. She goes on trips to Lake Geneva, Shedd Aquarium, plays bingo and is involved in swim and yoga classes, as well as relaxing walks and talking together. The best part is each caregiver is able to bring a different personality and perspective of lifes passions to her. I thought having the same caregiver would be best for her, but over time I see that having several is better, because she is engaged with each one on a different level. Thank you Right at Home for allowing my mother to continue to live a full and happy life while in my home.

I recently had extensive back surgery and needed help for a few days. I was very hesitant in getting caregiver thinking I did not need one, but agreed and Right at Home sent a caregiver named Yadi who was fantastic and exceeded by expectations. Once she arrived at my home, with a big smile on her face, she went right to work cleaning my house (it sparkles now), doing my laundry, always asking what can she do next. She took my burners off the stove to wash them (I never even asked her to do that), washed my oven in and out, vacuumed, and most of all, made both my bathrooms shine. She even went to the store to get me food and offered to do anything I needed. She is a very intelligent person, extremely sweet and so very accommodating and just a joy to have around. Thanks to Right at Home for employing such top people to work for them.

Right at Home has been very attentive to my fathers needs after his release from the hospital. The caregivers have been helpful to me as well. It has been very stressful, time consuming and a full time job having my dad live with my husband and I for 3 months and counting. The caregivers ease some of my housework by doing light dusting, vacumming and laundry when needed. The office staff has always been helpful, caring and professional. They definitely aim to please. A great experience. Each step in deciding what options are best, or just available, for a loved one takes time and research. If I had it to do again I would call Right at Home right away and save the agony of depending on nursing home staff and personal research for perspective, answers, and decision making.
