I cannot say enough positive things about The Roosevelt at Salt Creek. I have moved my in-laws in about a year ago. Both came to Elmhurst from New Mexico. Both came in with major health issues. It’s not that The Roosevelt healed them, but being in such close proximity to excellent health care, coupled with excellent food, wonderful facilities, and myriad activities, both of my in-laws have improved their health. They are eating well and they have friends. Moreover, The Roosevelt has recently had a renovation that makes the feeling inside feel like luxury, again, not something my in-laws have ever experienced. They look forward to inviting people to their house to visit and it’s wonderful to go there and spend some time. The people, the resources, the space is just excellent. I would encourage anyone investigating this type of living, please give The Roosevelt a look.I don’t know if you will find anything better. Good luck!

Julie Wilson, Residency Counselor, met us quickly after our arrival. She met with us to determine our needs, provided an excellent and thorough tour, and answered all of our questions. She is very nice to work with and knows the property. The property has been recently and CC completely remodeled. We were happy with the 1BR floor plans. We had visited several other properties in the Chicago area and not found one that met our needs very well at a price we could afford. We made the decision to move into the Roosevelt at Salt Creek as soon as we are able to.

I’ve been a Recreation Therapist for over 20 years. I’ve worked in behavioral health, dementia care, senior living, parks and recreation, and now community-based services for people with disabilities. I’ve walked through more senior living communities than I can count. And here’s what I’ve learned Anyone can build a beautiful building. Anyone can write a mission statement. Anyone can say they’re resident-centered. But you can’t fake a community. From the moment I pulled into The Roosevelt at Salt Creek, I saw something that immediately stood out”life. Residents laughing. Families visiting. Team members stopping to genuinely connect instead of simply walking by. It wasn’t something created for a tour. It felt like an ordinary day and that’s exactly what made it extraordinary. As a Recreation Therapist, I don’t notice the paint colors or the fancy furniture first. I watch the people. Are residents engaged? Are they choosing how they spend their day? Are relationships being built? Are staff interacting because they have to”or because they truly care? At The Roosevelt at Salt Creek, I found my answer. Everywhere I looked, people were living”not just existing. Programs had purpose. Conversations were genuine. Residents weren’t parked in front of a television waiting for the next meal. They were connecting, laughing, participating, and making memories. The life of a community isn’t measured by its d©cor. It’s measured by the people inside it. The activity team knew their residents. They understood their stories, their interests, and what brought them joy. They weren’t just filling a calendar”they were helping people continue writing their stories. As someone who has dedicated my career to improving quality of life, I left impressed. Choosing to move from a home of nearly 50 years is a big decision. My siblings and I appreciate the support the Roosevelt offered to my parents as they made the decision to move from the home we all grew up in to independent living at the Roosevelt. Our mom and dad have been residents since last fall (nearly one year). The facility itself looks modern, and we have been pleased with the number of activities our parents participate in. It makes us smile when we hear them mention eating a meal with "their new friends." The mini golf tournament during the Masters was a highlight for our dad, and our mom especially liked the afternoon she was able to make homemade cards. The fact the Starbucks is now open seven days a week is a highlight for their grandchild.

The community feels like a luxury hotel, with beautiful furnishings, elegant colors, and thoughtfully designed spaces everywhere. An Absolutely Spectacular Grand Reveal! I recently attended the grand reveal event at The Roosevelt at Salt Creek and was completely blown away! The overall ambiance of the newly renovated spaces was elegant and incredibly welcoming. The live jazz band set a wonderful, upscale tone for the evening, and the custom ice sculpture was a stunning focal point. Everyone had a blast making memories at the Photo Booth, and the chocolate saxophone giveaways were such a creative, delicious parting gift. We recently visited our family member who has been a resident at the Roosevelt Independent Living for about 3 years. The recent renovations are visually clean and modern. However, we were a bit surprised and somewhat disappointed when we noticed that a few key amenities were missing. In my profession of providing specialized care for the aging population for the last 25 years, the amenities were the most important factors we looked at when choosing the Roosevelt over other facilities. Where is the library? Access to books and reading in a quiet space are known to reduce stress and improve memory for older adults. Also, we were unable to locate the designated game room that housed the pool tables, darts, card tables and board games. The game room would have been a great space for the more active seniors to enjoy physical activity as well as social interaction when family and grandchildren came to visit. However, we did notice a pool table placed in the basement, but its right near the elevators, garage traffic and administrative offices. Really no privacy there to have a cozy family gathering. Actually, the basement could have been an ideal place for a ping pong table, shuffleboard or pickle ball. We did eat several meals in the newly renovated dining room. The area was bright and welcoming, and the food was very delicious. Unfortunately, it was very challenging to have a conversation during our meal due to a lecture being conducted in the lower level of the dining room. I could not hear or focus on listening to my family. All I heard was a lady speaking loudly on a microphone with a speaker. I asked the staff, and they mentioned that all the Bingo games occur in the dining room as well. That should not be allowed. Many older folks have hearing impairments. Our mom really enjoys living at the Roosevelt but has shared that other residents are also troubled about these disruptions during mealtimes. Is this just temporary? Or is the plan to move the activities and lectures in a separate enclosed room to keep noise better contained? Overall, the new renovations look pretty but we saw a considerable amount of lounging and tv areas which encourages a more sedentary lifestyle. What was the purpose of this remodel? From the very beginning, the staff has been incredibly compassionate, supportive, and attentive”providing not only guidance through the transition, but also genuine comfort to our entire family during what can be an emotional time. The community itself is beautiful, welcoming, and thoughtfully maintained. There is always something happening, and my mom has already begun participating in activities that have helped her feel engaged and at home. It’s such a great feeling knowing she is in a place where she can stay active, social, and well cared for. One of the things that stands out most is how much our family genuinely enjoys visiting. There’s such a positive energy throughout the community, and it truly feels like a place where residents”and their families”can spend meaningful time together. Top notch renovations to this building. I didn't recognize it when I walked in and they completed it in record time. My kids volunteer here and I can't believe how this project progressed. After 7 weeks i can only say we are so pleased to be here. Friendly staff and residents, delicious food, and so much right here in the building that it’s hardly necessary to leave.. exercise room, spa, hair stylist, movies, podiatrist, and much more. My husband and I moved to The Roosevelt almost 9 months ago. As much as I miss my home in North Carolina this is a very nice place to live. It was a little tough going through the renovations of The Roosevelt. But the final stage is beautiful. You could never ask for a better staff. The people that work here are wonderful & caring. Everyone of them is outstanding. I also started a low vision group here. Most of the people in my group have macular degeneration, but there are other eye diseases also. We meet once a month and we have speakers at each meeting. There is a lot to keep you busy here and we have met a lot Of great people!

I visited The Roosevelt this week and found that this property is on the final weeks of a multi-million dollar renovation. The one & two bedroom apartment apartments are very spacious, with fully renovated kitchens, new appliances, walk in closets, with closet systems. The details are amazing in what the team has done, not only in the apartments, but also the common area spaces. Swimming pool downstairs, movie theater, dining room is broad and inviting. We stayed for lunch and the service was amazing on top of the fact they have an open menu beyond their daily entrees. Desert had at least four options. This property is priced very affordable for the amenities it provides of three meals daily, housekeeping & activities all inclusive with the price. We met with Hillary as their Sales & Marketing Manger and we spent time with Tam their Executive Director. Their team feels very inviting and brings a depth of energy we don't find at other properties we visited.

A very timely and positive update! - We are moving my mother into Roosevelt at Salt Creek at the end of this month, thanks to the wonderful job William Hickey did to answer all of our questions and get things squared away in an efficient and friendly manner. The apartment looks spacious and amazing and has all the amenities you could wish for - we can't wait for her to get all settled in and enjoy all that the community has to offer. The common areas (dining room, lobby, etc.) also look fantastic due to the total renovation - looks like a fancy hotel! I cannot say enough good things about how William was able to accommodate my mother's questions/requests - he always sounds relaxed and has everything under control. He also is very accessible and is prompt with follow-up items. This has been a great experience so far!

Recently moved my 92 year old mother into memory care at the Roosevelt. She had been at another facility that just wasn’t meeting her needs. 3 years ago we moved her into independent living and she then moved to assisted living and now memory care as her needs evolved . I only wish The Roosevelt was an option then. My experience has been incredible every step of the way. From my first contact and every interaction since has exceeded my expectations based on experiences at other facilities. My mother is smiling again and tells everyone she’s sees how nice the people are and how she’s doing activities she hasn’t done in years. From management to caretakers, nurses,activities ,maintenance , the food,is all exceptional. Exceeding my hopes and expectations for the care of my mom. I wish the Roosevelt was an option when I moved my mom into independent living 3 years ago. From what I have seen whether you’re looking for Independent living, assisted living or memory care you cannot go wrong at The Roosevelt at Salt Creek in my opinion it is by far and away the best value and environment in the area.

This is an independent living facility. They are completely rehabbing this facility. Parking is a problem there. The apartments are on a rental basis. Meals are included on a points system. They provide weekly cleaning service. They have social functions too. There is a memory care section of this facility. They also will transport residents up to 8 miles away for medical and or shopping needs. It's a very nice facility.

Julie and William did a wonderful job of representing the Roosevelt; they gave a great tour and answered all of our questions. The rooms themselves look amazing - large and open spaces, full of natural light, and tons of storage. The facility is undergoing a total renovation so every space will be brand new, and the drawings promise a very stylish interior. Convenient location, too!

Recently moved into the Roosevelt, wasn’t sure about the move but knew I wanted to simplify my life. Absolutely love my 1 bedroom with study apartment. Had a few issues but Dariela was phenomenal in always getting back to me and getting the problems solved. It is under renovation at this time and that does make things a bit difficult but I have confidence when it’s finished everything will be much easier. All the staff that I have been involved with have been wonderful. It was a good move for me and I would recommend the Roosevelt for Independent living.

I researched retirement communities in the west suburbs of Chicago to be near my children once I settled down. I began visiting such facilities with my daughter when I was nearly ready to make the move. The moment my daughter & I arrived at The Roosevelt at Salt Creek in Elmhurst, we knew we’d found the right place for me. If I had to single out one item that makes this place such an inviting choice, it would have to be the staff. Friendly, engaging, compassionate, concerned and professional are words which immediately leap to mind when thinking of how to describe the staff; and I do mean ALL of the staff, top to bottom. After the staff I’d have to say the most important resource and benefit available at The Roosevelt are your fellow residents. I’ve met a treasure trove of people from all types of backgrounds who are all keepers! Each time I get the chance to sit with others I don’t know, I’m always anxious to discover a little bit about my neighbors. It’s always fascinating the wide array of talent we have stored away here in Elmhurst! Next I’d have to highlight safety & security. The Roosevelt is located in an extremely safe community surrounded by other extremely safe west suburbs of Chicago. It’s very nice to go on guided walks outside the complex to nature preserves and other places of interest. The accommodations are lovely and remind me of resorts I used to visit for professional improvement seminars. I can’t say enough about the quality, quantity, variety and nutritional benefit of the kitchen and dining services, so don’t get me started!! It’s just plain delectable and good for us, served by capable young men & women who soon become new friends! The entire facility is currently being renovated to improve the already beautiful physical plant. Last, but certainly not least, each and every time I have needed assistance of any kind, I’ve been met by an outpouring of support that gets whatever job I need done, DONE. And done well.
