I just wanted to take a minute to post how great Artis in Elmhurst is. I moved my dad there on December 5. It is the 3rd place he has lived since leaving his home. The staff at Artis is truly amazing. My dad has not looked this good in 3 years. He is so well taken care of and the communication with family is fantastic. Donna Germann is outstanding. Amber wright the nurse is just terrific. Elizabeth Martin who helped me get my dad all set up and helped me with all the paperwork is one of the sweetest and kindest people that I have met (they all are). Jamie Basso is also terrific. I just can't say enough. The facility is also just gorgeous. Thank you to the Artis Team in Elmhurst.

As promised from Linette TheAuthor: It’s been over 30 days and I’m doing my second review. I must say Artis staff and residents are truly amazing. They help my mother adjust and keeps her very active. She has told everyone how great the food is and how nice the people are to her. That really makes my heart smile. Today August 24, while out, my mother was anxious to get back because she was missing her activities. Her exact words were “are you taking me back home now?” Hearing her call Artis “home” was the icing on the cake. I highly recommend Artis in Elmhurst, IL. You’re treated with compassion and smiles just as the residents there. I couldn’t have made a better choice for my mother.

Very happy with Artis! The staff on moms floor are attentive to her needs. She has stopped complaining & asking to go home. If you check police complaints in nursing homes in the area they are abundant. Artis had 1 complaint & it is not recent.

Long review alert… I was becoming overwhelmed with visiting and touring different facilities for my mother. Just about all of them were huge like hotels. My mother even thought one was a hospital… ***Jamie, from Artis reached out to me after seeing my request on A Place For Mom website. I wasn’t going to answer the call. I was becoming frustrated with the prices of memory care and driving all over looking for a good fit for my mom. I’m glad I answered the phone…Jamie was pleasant and a great listener, as I told her my concerns. She invited me for a tour and I asked if I could be there within 35-40mins and she said,” yes.” I arrived and when I walked through the door there was a Welcome sign on the desk with my name on it. (I was impressed) The facility was clean and there was no odor lingering. The staff were all friendly. There was an unexpected emergency when I got there. I was quite impressed with how everyone handled the situation especially, Jamie.. Artis was the only facility I visited that made the tour seem personal and all about my mom. They even had a door decorated with my mother’s name and all the things I had told Jamie she liked over the phone. (Impressed again ). The tour was very welcoming.. The facility has a homelike atmosphere and everyone working there were friendly and didn’t seemed overwhelmed. I took my mother on my second visit and she really fit in. Jamie was so attentive to her and Donna absolutely did an amazing job assessing her without her knowing she was being assessed in comparison to the other facilities we visited. I’ve done a total of 3 tours at Artis.( I wanted daughter to visit and ask questions as well.) *Each time visiting was as good as the first. Clean and welcoming!! We had the pleasure of touring with Liz. She gave us a tour as residents were out and about..The residents seemed very at home and pleasant during their activities of either being outdoors, watching a movie, and some were just sitting at the dinner table talking... One lovely lady walked up and spoke to us, and talked about her life’s journey. She said she loved living at Artis.. We decided that Artis is the best place for my mother to live and trust that she’ll be well taken care of. …She’ll be moving in next week and I’ll definitely be back with a shorter update review.. I’m sure it will be just as good. Clean, bright, pleasant staff, alert residents, inviting, 24 hour visiting, and a sense of freedom is what I loved about memory care at Artis…

Really hate the ED is on leave. Frequent visits to my mother is needed. The care partner team is NEVER staffed correctly! I honestly feel bad for those women because they work hard but the consistency with the scheduling seems off! Staffing the floor correctly should be the number 1 priority for the safety of our love ones. When I asked who was in charge I was told that "that person was just threw into that position with no experience " and it shows! I would love to see a fully staffed floor so that our love ones needs are met in a timely manner... especially when they. Pull the help cord and can't be attended to!

Artis Senior Living of Elmhurst has been an excellent residence for my 89 year old mother who has an advance level of dementia. Since she moved to Artis in January 2020 I have had peace of mind regarding her care, which I could not say about her two previous senior living facilities. The Artis staff is very caring and treat her with love and respect and provide daily care and activities that have improved her quality of life.Artis response to the challenges of COVID has been great. They have kept their residents safe while keeping families informed and involved. Their communication regarding protocols has been very thorough, as has their updates on my Mothers health and care couldnt feel more confident about where my loved one is during this difficult time in her life.

Overall working at Artis has been a joy . However it saddens me to say that some of the directors at Artis are not living by the philosophy of the Artis Way when to comes to treasuring each others uniqueness. Being an African American in todays society is already hard enough without having people who are supposed to be consider leaders in our workplace looking down upon us. To reiterate I do think Artis is great company with a great philosophy but I do believe stereotypes have no place in a work environment especially from Directors who supposed to led by example.

This pandemic has been really hard on my mom who was in an independent apartment in a retirement community. 3 three weeks ago she moved to Artis Senior living in Elmhurst and we are seeing a dramatic improvement in her health and well being. The staff has been great and we no longer worry about her safety.

We have had very good experiences at Artis and would recommend it highly. Prior to bringing my Dad to the facility, he had lingered at another facility. Here at Artis, he is participating in the daily activities, walking, eating regularly. The caregivers we know in Unit 4 are consistent, kind, knowledgeable, patient with difficult needs-illness.Thank you for your hard work. As stated previously, I would recommend Artis highly and without reservation!

My mother moved into Artis Jan 20, 2020. My family visited a couple other facilities and found this to be the best choice for my mom. We were a little skeptical with her being the only African American resident at the facility, but the staff have made her feel welcomed and they have been attentive to her needs. My mother has informed us that the staff remains nice even when we are not around. This has made my family feel safe leaving her in Artis hand. She really enjoys the singing nurse that comes to the facility and says she will be participating in more of the outings.

The review below is very disheartening. Starting from the day of my interview, I walked into an environment of smiles and politeness. During my interview, I met with people who spoke highly of introducing the A.R.T.I.S. way to senior care with compassion and enthusiasm. Since being employed here, myself the rest of the staff including managers implement that to all residents, their families and amongst each other. Ive watched this staff grow on a daily basis with management diligently implementing changes as they arise always asking for family and staff input every step of the way. Yes the building is beautiful, but so are the people inside.

The environment is bright and cheerful. All employees, no matter their title or level, engage with the residents throughout the day. There is a variety of activities available for the residents every morning and afternoon - no chance for them to get bored or lost in the shuffle . I absolutely LOVE this facility and concept for my Mom!! We spent the last few years at another facility - and Mom was bored and declining due to lack of stimulation. At Artis they have her going with crafts and activities as often as she likes! Also, rather than being confined to a 2 hall facility that smelled like nursing home, she roams about in a fresh, light atmosphere, including freedom to roam about in outdoor courtyards with safety and security. The STAFF IS BAR NONE THE BEST! From the Director, Linda Finn, to the Care Director, Amanda to Laticia the nurse - everyone made us feel safe, secure, at peace with Moms transition there and her progress daily. They truly fall in love with the residents and treat them with such care and respect. I cannot say enough about our experience with Artis and believe me, I have done my research, looked into several, and lived through the last 3 years at one that was truly sub par in comparison. Thank you Artis from the bottom of my heart!!

I can not say enough about Artis; the staff and the facility! My dad has been there since July. The ENTIRE staff including the caring nursing staff, activities director and the wonderful CNAs have been caring and kind since day one! Every single person there has gone above and beyond in caring for the residents. The facility is perfect for my dad! I looked at a number of facilities and the memory unit was just one floor, a hallway with no outside access. My dad would of felt like a prisoner! At Artis there are a number of different hallways he can walk, as well as an outside courtyard (with a large patio and winding sidewalks!) that he can walk on his own! He loves it there! He does not feel trapped at all! They have activities for the residents all day long! I try to get him to come to our house and he doesnt want to leave Artis because he has his appointments all day! I feel so fortunate to have found such an excellent facility!

My mom is 91 years old shes been here only 2 full days and Im so so impressed. They made her transition from her home of 20 years as smooth as humanly possible. The staff is caring and shes fit in already and isnt scared anymore.The first thing that they did was give her a new hairdo.

ChiCity2009, it is very upsetting that you would post such a terrible review about a great Artis staff member. Everyone I have encountered at Artis is extremely caring and warm, especially Jenny. I was stunned when I saw the review you posted, and inquired about why such an awful thing would be written about a great staff member. I heard that it was something about an entertainer not working out. Considering your horrible attitude, I understand why Artis wouldnt allow someone like that into their facility. I give props to Artis and to Jenny for not allowing such a disrespectful entertainer into Artis to serve our beloved family member.
