Bickford in Crystal Lake is a wonderful community. The community is secure so the loved ones who reside here are safe. It's always clean and there's always a friendly face to greet you. It's also a smaller community, so the residents aren't waiting and waiting for help. I'm part of an outside company that visits and I work very closely with the CNAs and caregivers here, so I can tell you that they take excellent care of of their residents. The nursing staff is very kind, knowledgeable and prompt. The food here always looks and smells great. They always have activities for the residents to partake in. This is the place I'd trust with my loved ones.

I worked at this facility through my old nursing agency and it was by far one of the best facilities I had worked at. Very well maintained, professional and kind staff, good management, kind residents, and well supplied.

Worst place to be or work ever. All the people are rude and I cannot stand how much I had to do for other people. Harassed and threatened me.

Bickford Crystal Lake has taken such great care of two family members. My 101 year old aunt arrived with a lot of medical concerns and I was afraid she would not make it through. Not only did she survive, but she is thriving. She has made friends due to the encouragement of staff. Her medical issues have subsided due to the exemplary care of the nurses. She is well cared for in day to day activities due to the CNAs. The activities staff has been available to keep her connected via ZOOM through the shelter in place condition. She even participates in exercise class! The staff has helped my mother in law who has not handled the transition well. They have been kind and supportive and have helped her find and charge her devices a number of times! They are keeping her safe and well cared for in this difficult time when we cannot visit her. Emails and phone calls to the residence are returned immediately and everyone proactively calls with updates. Thank you to everyone at Bickford Crystal Lake.

Stopped by on the spur of the moment. They were nice enough to give me a tour. Memory area small # of residents. Very clean. Their assisted living is much bigger. Looks like good selection of food but I didn't get to try it. Bring your own furniture. Pricing is not straight [removed] rate for room+care rate +community fee. More expensive than others.Private pay only. Is a great place.

I love Bickford for its home-style environment, small resident size and professional staff. Mom attends activities with the caregiver's assistance, however, does not remember what she has done when asked later.

We toured a few communities but none of them gave us the feeling that this one did. The community just gives off a feeling that your family there. The staff and residents seem generally happy and they enjoy each other. They offer a lot of activities to do. The food seems ok mom is not a big eater anyway so it would be hard to judge.
