My 89 year old aunt was a resident at Bickford, recently residing in the memory care wing. She received great care from a loving staff. Unfortunately, she recently passed away. My aunt resided there for several years. I am very disappointed that Bickford had not sent any form of sympathy gesture or flowers to the wake.

I found the staff of Bickford in Crystal lake to be caring and knowledgeable. They cared about getting to know grandma and making sure she was comfortable and safe. The facility is clean and homey. The facility is located in a neighborhood and it is easy for us to get to to visit. It made the decision for our family easy.

The Health & Wellness Director is very attentive and is always available to answer questions day or night. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make the residents feel loved and cared for. The facility is very home like and clean.

They don't take Medicaid at time of writing but pricing was good for out of pocket. We got a holiday discount for 30 days at a fixed rate regardless of level of care needed and the local medical supply store gave a free hospital bed for 30 days. The staff was very flexible with no insurance payment and they drive out to your hospital to get you released. Free meals for family visiting or $8 if you come too often. Nurses check on patients very often. At lowest level of care they still clean the room and provide the meals and makes staying affordable. If you need a place to stay after being released from ICU with the prospect of getting better this place is excellent. Competitors charge like $7000+ for any amount of care and require down payments of up to 3 months. Bickford is still less or the same at highest level of care.

WOW! What can I sayThis Bickford Senior Living of Crystal Lake ROCKS! I needed to place my Mom ASAP on short notice into assisted living respite care in Illinois so I could coordinate her move down to where I reside in Missouri (8+ hours away). And they made it happen within 72 hours. I could never have asked for more caring and responsive individuals, trust me. Plus my Mom is LOVING the facility straight up, which is allowing me to focus on her placement here in Missouri! She has truly settled into the daily activities and care of the staff. Her peace of mind and daily careI cannot ask for anything else! I would DEFINITELY place her here full-time if closer to me in Missouri. My mom became a resident of Bickford in Crystal Lake almost 10 months ago. We know this is the best place for her physical and cognitive needs. The staff truly care, are kind and they always make time for me when I have a question or concern. They always call me when there is any change in her condition or medications. I know my mom, at age 98, is safe and that gives me peace of mind.

When I walked through the doors I felt the love immediately and I knew I had found mom’s new home. Family owned makes a difference. My mom’s health and well being has improved at 89 years old from the care given by all of the crystal lake staff! Thank you Bickford for giving me the gift to be a daughter again. Our sister moved into Bickford senior living in Crystal lake about a year ago We have been extremely pleased with all that Bickford has done to help her acclimate to a new life. My family has been working closely with Bickford for many months now and they have been nothing shy of outstanding. They have made the transition of our family member as easy as you could imagine given how hard it truly is to move someone into assisted care. The staff have all been so helpful and want to make sure my great aunt is enjoying her time each and every day. They make her feel comfortable and welcome and even though she had negative feelings going into the move, she is now in love with everything about Bickford. They have been our saving grace.

We had to move my Aunt into assisted living last year and as difficult as that process is, the staff members at Bickford made it as efficient and comfortable as you could imagine. Bickford of Crystal Lake has been a great place for my parents. They were able to stay together while they resided there. The staff has been great. They have been well cared for. Shout out to Jennifer, Sarah and Delaney just to name a few. Really my parents know all their names and back stories. The staff is very friendly and conversational with the residence. The food has been great. I have had many meals with my parents. Always some option to choose from. Nurse Noel has been spot on with my Mother's requests. Lisa, Crystal and Julie helped make the transition for easy for me, the daughter. Thanks for all you do.

A few weeks ago, our family made the difficult decision to find an assisted living/memory care community for my father. Living in the Crystal Lake area, I have driven past Bickford Cottage a thousand times. I called and left a message and Lisa returned my call immediately. She invited me over and we talked for a very long time. She then gave me a tour. She was loving and kind to every resident we met along the way. I felt that I finally found the perfect place. We arranged for Lisa and her nurse to visit my father and they got along great. For now, we have decided to go in a different direction but when we are ready for assisted living/memory care, I will be back in touch! Thank you Lisa for your kindness, knowledge and care. You were one of the first to guide me on this journey.

Bickford in Crystal Lake is a wonderful community. The community is secure so the loved ones who reside here are safe. It's always clean and there's always a friendly face to greet you. It's also a smaller community, so the residents aren't waiting and waiting for help. I'm part of an outside company that visits and I work very closely with the CNAs and caregivers here, so I can tell you that they take excellent care of of their residents. The nursing staff is very kind, knowledgeable and prompt. The food here always looks and smells great. They always have activities for the residents to partake in. This is the place I'd trust with my loved ones.
