Brookdale LSD has been an excellent place for my parents. They made new friends, enjoyed the social and dining activities in the building, the nursing and care staff are attentive and helpful. The location is wonderful, with lovely views and the ability to go outside and enjoy the vibrancy of the park is a bonus.

Brookdale has a holistic approach to assisted living. The staff gets to know the residents and considers each of them an integral part of the community. Brookdale offers a wide variety of classes and supports resident-run clubs – French Club, Bridge, Current Events, to name only a few --, which allows residents to find others who have similar interests. Of course, sound body supports a sound mind. The exercise classes, which feature a wide variety of chair exercise – yoga, exercise, boxing - are superb. Residents actively participate in the many classes – art and music, for example. The lectures – on politics, music, history, and other topics – are given by top-notch professors and professionals.

My friend, who was hospitalized and in rehab for several weeks came back to her apartment at Brookdale Lake Shore Drive recently. The staff at Brookdale, Mallory, Juan, Lola and Savannah, helped me identify a company to provide services to her while I researched a permanent arrangement for my friend. All along the staff was very helpful in explaining what options she had and the cost associated with each option. During this pandemic time, it wasnt easy to deal with this remotely. However, they communicated with me and my friend constantly until we reached a decision. We relocated my friend from independent living to assisted living in the same building. I recently relocated my mother from her home in Florida, to Brookdale Lake Shore Drive... she was not happy about the move... she also suffers from dementia. I can not say enough wonderful things about the compassionate, responsive, understanding, and very patient caregivers at Brookdale. They worked very hard and were so upbeat in a very difficult situation.... everyone I have worked with there have gone above and beyond and my mother is finally settled in her apartment. I can not tell you how impressed I have been with Juan, Mallory, Itzsel, John, even the head of security called me one evening to reassure me....I am so happy she is now safe and being taken care of at Brookdale Lake Shore Drive!

My parents are in the process of moving to Brookdale Lake Shore Drive and everyone has been so wonderful and helpful. My parents (and our whole family) have been welcomed and treated with so much caring and respect. The management team has been truly excellent which is so important to us, and the staff we have met so far have been happy and friendly and kind. We are also so impressed with the way they have managed the COVID situation which makes us feel great. Having my parents be able to move close by into such a great community is a blessing for the whole family.

We recently moved my father to Brookdale Lake Shore Drive. The staff at Brookdale have been fantastic!! They took time to get to know our family, they worked with us to find the right place for my dad and to help coordinate the move. There have been so many personal touches along the way to make our entire family feel welcome. The building is beautiful and the views are magnificent! It has truly been a wonderful experience and we are so happy to have found Brookdale Lake Shore Drive!

Brookdale Lake Shore Drive is a full service senior residence. The staff is attentive, thoughtful and kind. The apartment we selected is sunny and roomy, with fabulous views. There is plenty to do, and a wonderful park to walk in just across the street. We are so happy with the care and attention our mother receives at Brookdale.

My Mother moved into Brookdale Lake Shore Dr. five months ago and her experience there has been wonderful. Marlene was our Sales Counselor and she was so attentive and really tuned into what my mother was looking for. The staff welcomed her immediately and everyone from the Management to the restaurant waitstaff have taken the time to get to know her and always have a smile and a good word for her. As I write this, we have all been sheltering at home for going on 4 weeks now, due to Covid-19. I cannot express how impressed I am by the way that Brookdale Lake SHore Dr. has managed this pandemic, keeping my mother and all of the other residents of the building safe and Virus Free. I believe that they have gone to extraordinary lengths, which only speaks to the dedication of all of the staff and management. I receive an update email from the Executive DIrector at least every 2 days. They are not boilerplate emails, but thoughtfully written, warm messages that report on their latest attempts to normalize the residents lives under the circumstances. Last Sunday was Easter Sunday and Brian, the Associate Executive Director, left his family, donned a giant bunny suit and knocked on every residents door, delivering an easter egg and a moment of silliness, during a particularly stressful time. He was sprayed down with antibacterial spray between visits to keep everyone safe. Check out the video....clearly everyone was delighted by the moment. In summary, the facility is clean and well-run, the staff are smiling and always pleasant. My mother and my entire family are so happy to have found Brookdale Lake SHore Dr.

I would like to give kudos to the entire team at Brookdale Lake Shore Dr. for their care and support of our father who moved in a few months back. John Janco and his sales team met several times with my father to give him the comfort level he was looking for before deciding to move in. And once my father moved in the entire staff including Executive Director Erika Keegan, Assistant Executive Director Brian Adelman and many others has spent countless hours making sure that he was transitioning well to a new environment. And what most impressed me about Brookdale was that they were so proactive with help and suggestions when the transition hit a few bumps which is to be expected when a 90+ year old who is used to living on his own has to transition to a new community environment. Thanks Brookdale!

My sister and I moved both of our divorced parents to Brookdale Lake Shore Drive, first one then, years later, the other. That is how much we trust it. From the executive director to the maintenance crew... everyone is kind and professional. When needed, the staff helps new residents adjust by connecting them with peers with common interests or backgrounds. Residents truly have fun living there. This community is warm and welcoming and a true treasure of Chicago when the time comes for senior living.

Senior living on Lake Shore drive in Chicago. The people I know really enjoy the community, the dining and the location. If you are visiting, they have 'hotel rooms' you can arrange to use, cheaper and as nice as anything nearby.
