My Mom came for a respite care for a month in July. Her last day was a Sunday and we picked up after dinner. By 2:00 pm the next day she was texting me and telling me that she had to go back. She missed her friends at meals and the people really helped take care of her. Less than two weeks later a room became available and mom is settled into the routine and it putting on weight after losing so many pounds that her doctor became very concerned. I often see her participating in watching old movies and playing Bingo. She still talks about riding in the bus as part of the Bloomingdale parade. A favorite memory. My mom is thriving again at Sunrise

The Sunrise of Bloomingdale staff has done an amazing job of taking care of our father through this very tough time of Covid-19. Not only is their facility warm and welcoming, but so are the people that work there. Were especially thankful they provide the opportunity to Facetime with our dad every day. Its made the separation more bearable for all of us.

I agree with the other commenter that there is a lack of internal communication among administration, which leads to frustration as the same errors keep getting repeated. My grandma is well taken care of, but the admin needs better record keeping and follow through.

After only 2 months, I felt the need to rate this facility. This is my 2nd experience with an assisted living facility. My first experience was over 4 years ago. And now 4 years later, we had to cross a bridge to get my love one some assistance. Many of the care managers here are over worked and are burnt out. I recommend making several visits at all hours of the day to ensure youre happy with the facility. If your heavily involved (as I am) and are one who expects to get what you pay for, believe me when I say this ... you will find yourself repeating over and over and anxiously awaiting a formal response. You will more than likely need to send 2nd, 3rd requests as promises will be made but lack of internal communication across staff and all shifts takes much longer than should and this will certainly get frustrating. The entry into the dining area has been under construction for over a month now. It has remained in its current stage for over 3 weeks. Certainly someone needs to put some heat on the contractor or insurance company. Nevertheless, many of my concerns I addressed during the initial sales pitch, have happened ~ we were told, thats not the business we are in. I suggest, you do lots of research and visit facilities frequently before making your final decision. At this time, my rating is 2-1-2 to 3 stars. A 4 star is good and 5 stars in this industry, it is going to take more efforts to get 5 stars here at Sunrise. LOTS of room for improvement at Sunrise of Bloomingdale. On average, I am at the facility, approximately 30 hours per week so I see a lot. Best of luck in your search ~ ❤

Sunrise of Bloomingdale is by far the most outstanding facility. Their management and staff are very friendly and provide the best care for my Dad. They have not only helped my father but myself as well with any questions or guidance needed. The food is fantastic as well. I'm am very pleased with this facility and would highly recommend them.

We are very happy so far with Sunrise of Bloomingdale. I can literally walk there from my house, and we have found the staff to be very warm, gracious, and as helpful as they can be; not only to my loved one, but to me and the rest of the family as well. I would absolutely recommend this community to others.
