My wife and I made the transition to Hearhwood Senior Living one year ago. This was after having visited at least 5 other senior communities. At the offset we sensed something special about this community in that everyone showed a sense of caring and genuine friendliness. Added to this was promise that all apartments and commons areas where in the process of being upgraded by means of renovation. This promise has now become a reality. There has been a significant and successful increase in residency. There is abundant communication and transparency from staff and among resident groups. The number of life enrichment activities has increased. Weekly entertainment is always on the schedule. But most important are the safety systems and practices that are a top priority for all. We remain comfortable and confident that we made the right choice for living out our remaining years at Hearthwood Senior Living.

My 97 yr old mother just finished a month stay at Hearthwood rehab for a fractured pelvis. I knew from the moment I met with Patrick that this was the place. It felt right. Patrick made it happen when so many other places couldn’t. To start We took a shared room. They don’t have many, most are private, but the shared room is really just a shared bathroom. There is a wall between the actual rooms. It turned out fine and we remained in that room her entire stay. The caregivers are amazing here, nurse Prima is the best, CNAs all are great in their own way. They really do care about your loved one. The food is exceptional, she ate so much there and everything was good, I don’t believe she had the same meal twice except for breakfast of course. I worked with Social Worker Rolando, who was also exceptional at helping us with our appeals with Medicare, medical equipment for home and many other things. Therapy was wonderful, at least 5 days a week they progressed her wonderfully. All the therapists are great to work with. My mother left confident with going home, and had nothing but wonderful things to say about the people and her stay at Hearthwood.

We started discussions about mom about Independent living 2 years ago. She was reluctant and dragged her feet. She wasn’t looking forward to the move, but she knew it was time. The staff was amazing every step of the way and continue to be stellar 6 months later. They allowed us in early access to paint accent walls which matched her old house. Once we got her furniture in her bedroom/living room looks really close to her old house. The staff was a huge help with a few hours of installation of pictures, shelves, and TV. Stacey was amazing every step of the way guiding mom and answering her very question. They even had a program to pair up new residence with older residences and it wasn’t long before Mom had acclimated. Even though the place already was well maintained and updated, they painted, added carpet and the place looks like a million bucks. She enjoys dinner every day with a wait staff and linens tablecloths annd can even order a glass of wine. After 4 months, mom told the family at Thanksgiving that she absolutely loves the place, and it was the right move. She thanked everybody for our patience and the transition. We couldn’t be happier. 10 out of 10!!!

This is one of the most beautiful communities I’ve been to. My mom and I toured a few senior living options in Bartlett and nearby, and we both feel Hearthwood is the right fit. I love the variety of activities for her, the dining experience really stood out, and the fact that they’re going through a big renovation means even nicer amenities are on the way. There’s a beautiful pond with wildlife in the back of the community, which is nice for walking and just enjoying nature! Definitely feels like a place she’ll be happy to be her new home.

Claire oaks is now Heartwood senior living under New Management. Staff is very helpful to the seniors. They had Caribbean music and a variety of delicious foods and drinks. One resident built a large dollhouse much detail inside and out. The facility has a swimming pool downstairs and an exercise room downstairs. Everyone who works at The Oaks is so happy and so willing to help and answer any questions. My mom also loves that I volunteer at their mini mart and I love it too! The residents are so kind, and they are so appreciative to have the convenience of the mini mart so close to where they live. My mom did rehab here twice. This second time from July 1st - Aug. 2nd. Nilo, a RN on staff here knew my mom by name. He was on top of her meds and was able to fill me in on her condition without even looking at her chart. Rolando is the Social Worker who was my main contact here. He helped me with Medicare questions, her care plan and anything I needed even if it wasn’t related to his position. I felt everyone genuinely cared and were truly interested in my moms wellbeing. If I could have the care team she had in rehab over in assisted living, I would move her tomorrow. Most importantlymom was very happy here.

Since we moved from sunny AZ to The Oaks in the north part of IL, we are still enjoying 75 degree temperatures (indoors). We looked at several other retirement communities, but The Oaks had the most welcoming feel. The facilities and personnel are very accommodating with friendly residents and lots of activities. My experience working with Lauren and Tammy was wonderful. My Sister-in-law, Alice went from having a bad fall in her home to hospital, rehab at Oaks, an then being told she could not go back to her home of 46 years. I was very dramatic for Alice. Moving my parents from Arizona to Chicago was a difficult decision. However, their needs outweighed the ongoing beautiful sunshine of Arizona. We viewed multiple facilities in the area, but came to settle up on The Oaks. The sales staff. Was exceptionally helpful. My parents were able to review several different types of apartments and choose the view, and every single thing that would make them happy in the apartment they chose. The staff continue to support them through their long-distance move and help them feel welcomed into the new community. This March 2023 my father Charles H Budreceived care for 13 days at the Oaks with a friendly and extremely helpful staff they cared for him like he was their own family. He turns 88 years old in May and he came there with little expectations of good food and they had great food. It was just an overall great experience. My mom sustained a heart attack when we also discovered she has COPD. She spent a couple weeks at the Oaks rehabilitating> They got her up and moving again and stronger than even before her attack and diagnosis. The care she received was top notch. Rolando from Social Services at the Oaks was especially helpful and key to helping us understand everything that was happening and what to expect. He arranged everything for us and answered all of our questions. Even though I called him a million times, he was always great and empathetic and considerate. I really appreciate everything Rolando did to make my mom's' transition home smooth and easy. We didn't have to worry about a thing or lift a finger ourselves to make things happen. We moved my mom into The Oaks in December, and it has been such a wonderful experience. Between Tammy helping us pick the perfect place for mom and the staff helping her feel so welcomed it's been amazing. The other thing we noticed is everyone that is living there seems to be so happy which I believe indicates what a great environment The Oaks has created for everyone. Some of the other independent living places we visited never had such a welcoming feel to it like The Oaks does. I would recommend The Oaks to anyone.

Shortly before Christmas, my mother made the bold decision to make The Oaks at Bartlett her new home after living at another independent living community. She, and our family are thrilled that she did. Lauren Cardelli, is a gem. She made the entire process effortless. The moving staff was amazing. Having a welcome ambassador is such a wonderful idea and helps new residents acclimate to their new surroundings, and Linda did a great job. Your staff and residents made her feel at ease and instantly welcome. She enjoys dining and attending fun activities with her many new friends. We could not be more pleased with The Oaks.

There was so much to do I had to pick and choose among the many choices. Over the years my health has declined somewhat and I still can find appropriate activities. It's wonderful to feel safe and know you have support when you need it.

We are so very delighted we decided to move here! Mike and I have found The Oaks to be the perfect place for us. The staff and residents are friendly, supportive and helpful. We feel there are many opportunities to become engaged in activities, but never have felt pressured to do anything. There are plenty of activities on site and scheduled outings to enjoy in our communities. We have found both the pool and the walking path around the pond perfect for us to get our exercise. We believe the services available are all we could ever want or need.

The facility and the nurses and aids are wonderful! I could not say enough good things about them. Social Services is another story. Be sure you have all your ducks in a row when your loved one is discharged and make sure that they have all the information in writing. They seem to drop the ball.
