I recently toured for my mother at this community. The receptionist was very welcoming and knowledgeable. Jennifer was an amazing tour guide. She let us know of all our options from studios to one bedrooms. She relieved a lot of stress I had with relocating my mother to an assisted living community. I was intrigued by the activities and outings that they had to offer. Staff was very welcoming.

My sister found a very nice 2 bed 2 bath for my parents at Bright Oaks and I was impressed when I had a chance to see it for myself. My parents had a list of things that they wanted, and Bright Oaks checked all the boxes. It's a beautiful place near the river and their apartment had a lot of space. Alex was a joy to work with and helped us get through some last minute difficulties. She takes a genuine interest in the residents and knew everyone's names when we visited. She even visited my mother in the hospital. Unfortunately my parents both passed away before they had a chance to move in, so I can't speak to the long term experience. But I can say that the experience we did have was very positive and we very much appreciate their support through difficult times.

My dad is a resident of Bright Oaks for the past 6 months. Everyday we are thankful for the staff and the care and compassion they show our dad. They continually try to engage the residents and I am so moved when I see staff holding hands and putting arms around the residents as if they are family. Bright Oaks recently began recognizing their staff with Employees of the Month and this recognition is so deserved. Our family makes it a point to nominate these valuable employees and thanks the directors for recognizing them as well. Recently the facility had a picnic for residents and their families, and it was awesome. The smiles and excitement was fun to see. Hamburgers and hotdogs, popcorn and ice cream were enjoyed by all. It was evident the amount of work and effort this took and it was all staff on deck. We thank you all for your hard work to make it a special day for all!

My mother-in-law began her stay at Bright Oaks after breaking her hip a few months ago. She completed her time at a rehab facility but was unable to care for herself at home, so we needed a place that offered respite care. After her first few weeks there, we knew it was the perfect place for her to be. In fact, she is now a permanent resident and has made it home! The staff are very caring and helpful and we're very happy with our choice!!

Mirka was sooo helpful with my mothers assessment for care. Her bedside manner with Mom during the process was very much appreciated. She clearly genuinely cares.

My dear friend who was like a mother to me; until her recent passing, loved living at BrightOaks. She did not adapt easily to change, and initially was occasionally stubborn and strong-willed about moving there. I was pleasantly surprised how after her initial resistance to living in a new facility, she quickly warmed up to her surroundings. The Nursing staff, CNA's and caregivers loving care and support, won her over! Before long; she was an active participant in the various activities, and enjoying the meals being served with no complaints. Most surprising; I no longer had requests to 'bring cheeseburgers from Wendy's', to replace skipped meals, as I occasionally had to do at a previous facility! lol! Under this new management, I saw residents participate in even greater numbers, in the various daily events. There's something for everyone, including weekly live entertainment, and residents seem eager to engage! I've been so impressed with the way things are run and the care of residents (some whom I've come to know from visiting my friend), that after three years of retirement, I took a job at BrightOaks this summer, as a fill-in (as needed) receptionist. I love seeing our Senior residents look forward to the day's activities, events, meals, etc., and I love hearing stories about their own life experiences, families, jobs or military service, travels, or whatever topic they choose to share! You're never too old to learn; as I've learned a lot about how life was in past years, when I might have been too young to appreciate the life sacrifices these trailblazers made! I highly recommend that you visit BrightOaks as you consider a place for your loved one's latter years, or for yourself! It's a small community which provides a warm family type atmosphere, that embraces and enhances a loving positive environment for all residents.

We spent a lot of time looking at places that were just the right spot for out mother. We were looking for a place first of all that was financially affordable that would offer the best services and not lose the quality of life our mother deserved. We found that in Bright Oaks of Aurora. After meeting a number of times with director Michelle Dodd, we were able to make the arrangements that we needed to for the move. The staff was always helpful. They had the activities our mom needed and we loved the idea of the different levels of care they offered. We visited many times and ate the exact food mom had on a daily basis. It was very good and offered a variety of items to meet the needs of each and every senior. The facility was always clean and well maintained. And the events and programs that were offered met the needs of everyone. Its not an easy thing to do for a loved one, but if you are needing to do it, I would highly recommend Bright Oaks of Aurora.

The loss of the mind is a horrible thing to watch as a loved one left to find care. The idea that someone else will need to provide for your loved one is a terrible Adventure in life and the staff here provided the best possible care that mom could get. Price care and location were all met at Bright Oaks. From start to finish mom and I were treated like part of the family. I would bring my dad here if it becomes necessary.
