It was a daunting task finding placement for my father. When coming upon this phase of life, it is so important to me to find somewhere warm, welcoming, comfortable and with high standards. Garden Plaza of Valley View has exceeded expectations. My father's as well as my own. It was the first place I sought, and after checking out 5 other places, something resonated for Garden Plaza the entire journey. Moving forward, and now that my father is settled, we are continually happy with this community. Huge kudos to Jake for facilitating everything and making sure our needs were/are taken care of. It was also a wonderful encounter with Eddie. The apartment, staff, food and facility have exceeded my father's expectations. The residents are also a dynamic touch. This community is outstanding, and my dad and I look forward to this new home for him. I am very grateful.

My dad lived alone for decades and was adamant about never leaving his home. That all changed when he moved to Valley View. Within days he was telling us about his new friends, was raving about the food, was participating in group activities and playing cards into the evening. He lit up in a new way and truly enjoyed his final months of life there. The residents all welcomed him, several stopping by as we were moving him in. The staff is attentive and warm, the facility is super clean, and whenever my dad needed a ride or a little assistance, someone was always there. It doesn't get much better than that!

My mom decided to move to independent senior living after my dad passed away a few years ago. I looked and toured many senior living places in Boise before deciding on Valley View Garden Plaza. Once you walk through the front door, you will understand. The place is beautiful, extremely clean and the staff are very friendly. We worked with Pam Dillman who was a pleasure and made the entire process seamless. My mom has been there since December 2023 and loves it. She has told me many times it was one of the best decisions she made. The food is great (personal experience), many activities to keep my mom busy, the decorations for each season is unbelievable, hair salon and bakery on site, and everyone is extremely friendly!!! Highly recommend Valley View.

My parents were looking to move into an independent living community to lessen the burden of cooking, cleaning, and home maintenance, as well as increasing their social involvement. We toured eight different facilities in Boise and the Garden Plaza of Valley View was by far their favorite. We actually didn't have an appointment and just stopped in to see if we might be able to talk to someone - Pam welcomed us with open arms and gave us a very thorough tour. They joined the waiting list, and moved in a few months later when a space opened up. At this point it has only been a few weeks since their move, but they are extremely happy and we've noticed a difference in their health already, especially with Mom. Her speech and walking have both improved, and we credit the Garden Plaza with that. She has 3 regular meals a day, social interaction, walks more, and she doesn't have the pressures that came with owning and caring for a full-sized home. My folks tell us every day how nice everyone is, from the staff to the residents. They wish they had made the move years ago and say everyone they talk to says the same thing. (Better late than never!) I liken it to living on a land-based cruise ship - all their meals and utilities are included, their unit is cleaned weekly (including towels and linens), there are tons of activities, there's transportation to get them around town, and everything is bundled under one price so they don't have to keep track of a ton of bills (or even this one - they're set up on auto-pay)! It's so nice that my teenage daughter wanted to move there after getting a tour. To say it's been life-changing is an understatement. My parents are thrilled, my siblings and I are thrilled, and a huge load has been lifted from all of us. Since I don't live in Boise, it's an enormous comfort to know they're happy and that people are checking in on them daily. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Pam Dillman and all the wonderful staff and residents at the Garden Plaza of Valley View! (Oh, and there's an AMAZING bakery in the lobby - try the blueberry lemon cake.)

Though the life transition of older individuals is almost always difficult, our family's journey into independent/assisted living has been especially challenging. Within a short period of time, our parents had to move from their home into independent living, then our father had to move into a memory care facility, and then our mother had to move into assisted living. Of note, though Valley View doesn't have memory care, they referred us to a facility that exceeded our expectations with the care of our father. The team at Valley View has been amazing as they helped us through these moves and I don't know what we would have done without them. The Valley View team not only helped our mother adjust to her new world, but they have been wonderful partners to us (her children) as well. The team is attentive and has provided unparalleled support and services to our mother. When the time came to transition our mother to assisted living, they allowed her to move into a studio temporarily while they finished construction of her permanent room, an act that allowed her to start getting the services she needed immediately (rather than having her wait until her unit was finished). The care this team provides to all their residents is unmatched and it is apparent that each member of their team truly cares about their residents. As you walk the facility, you soon see that all employees - including those that are not involved with direct care/services - appear to know the names of every resident, which can only be accomplished when the staff embrace the mission of the organization and realize the impact their actions have on resident well being. We cannot say enough good about the team at Valley View and we would have no hesitation referring them to anyone in the Boise area (or beyond). Thank you for everything you have done - and continue to do - for our family!

I have been beyond impressed with Garden Plaza of Valley View. The food is delicious with many options to choose. I especially love the fresh salad bar that is included twice daily. There are so many activities and residents seem very happy and active. The outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapies available there are so convenient! There is also a Parkinson’s support that meets every month, sing-a-longs, exercise classes, and large clean community areas with a beautiful courtyard. Many of the staff have worked there for several years because it is such a great work environment. I simply can’t say enough good about this senior independent living community. What a great place it is!

My mother in law was only able to live at Garden Plaza for a few months, but before and after her stay I did a lot of research on senior living facilities/assisted living facilities around Boise. Most of the time the truth is you get what you pay for. But I believe you get a little extra at Garden Plaza because of the quality of the staff and environment. It is a gem of a place in Treasure Valley. If it will work for yourself or your loved one, I highly recommend it.

Easily the best in Boise. It's my father's first stop, but we've done the rounds for decades with my grandmother. Employees take a genuine interest in the residents. Many have been at Garden Plaza for years - that's uncommon. Beyond that, the property itself is well maintained. I work in commercial real estate and I know the red flags. Garden Plaza is spotless - even in areas that people don't commonly look (like stairwells). All of this is vastly different from other options - even at the high end of the rate scale (we know from experience). Other facilities just don't care. They're corporate and they make return based decisions - they don't care about the residents.

My Dad lived here for 15 years. He made many good friends, and the staff was like family. All of the staff members from the house keeper that came to clean his room once a week, to the bus driver, the wait staff in the dinning room, the folks at the front desk, the managers and the activities director and more made him feel at home. Like family. When he got cancer, and had to go into assisted living, the staff there was equally as kind and careing. During the difficult time of his getting sick and passing, I was treated with the utmost kindness, compassion, respect and helpfulness. The residents make everyone feel so welcome. The dining experience is fabulous, just like eating in a regular restaurant with so many mix and match choices or you can have the featured menu of the day. ALWAYS delicious! I love that so many families enjoy the events like Grandparents Day, BSU home game parties, opera, dancing and so much more. Sherrie does an amazing job at providing the entertainment and activities that residents can choose to be active everyday. The lodge-like decor is exactly spot on with an Idaho feel with cozy stone fireplaces to beamed ceilings. I feel as if I am in the Sun Valley Lodge. The staff are exceptional and have said more than one occasion that "They are privileged to work in residents home". They treat residents as if they were family. Way to go Garden Plaza!

I visited many senior facilities for my mother in the Boise/Meridian area, and by far the best one is Garden Plaza of Valley View for many reasons. The exterior and interior are so beautifully appointed - it resembles an upscale ski lodge. The extensive lobby, dining room, gym, laundry room, common areas, elevators, etc. were all warm, inviting, spacious, attractive, and friendly. There are several floor plan options that would meet a variety of needs and tastes. The food is delicious - the international chef has been there for many years making sure the residents get tasty fresh meals. There are many interesting and fun activities available to keep the residents engaged and to create connections. Best of all, the staff are superb. I met with Lesly Cook (sales associate) several times and she is extremely accommodating, supportive, patient, and kind. She is so helpful with information, communication, and support during every step of this process. I would highly recommend visiting with Lesly and going on a tour of Garden Plaza if you are looking at senior facilities in this area.

We were impressed not only by the beauty of this building, but the longevity of staff. The people that lived there looked very happy and were actively participating in the arranged games and events. They seemed like well educated people. We didn't get a chance to sample a meal as the dining room was closing for lunch, but there was a huge salad bar and the choices were healthy offerings of vegetables and proteins to fit any dietary need. We also heard the chef was excellent and had been there 10 years. We saw a model room and it was delightful.
