Many years ago my first boss told me, "be careful whose stories you believe as being true" (see below.) We love living at Attivo Trail Waukee and strongly suggest potential residents stop by and take a tour to see for themselves how wonderful it is here, before making a decision based on what they only read online.

Office staff are rude and unprofessional. Maintenance has gone downhill and the North side has poor lighting for taking your pet out at night. Everything is breaking. Bad plumbing, fire alarms constantly going off, and the so called amenities are deteriorating to a fraction of what they were. Common areas have been closed due to water damage and if any concerns are brought up, the office provides rude defensive attitude. This place was thrown together so quickly and no quality control. Lighting drywalled over. Pipes bursting all over the building and leaking into other living areas. They have even missed electrical outlets, leaving live wires in apartments. It's all about the profit. It took nearly a year to get screens for windows in the new section. Needs new management!

Never seen a place so organized and so welcoming, Stephanie and all the Attivo staff are so nice and always on top to make sure everything is looking and running well in the building. When I'm walking around the hallways all I heard is positive comments about the property!

I’m Soooooo excited to be moving into Attivo Trails in January 2023!!! I found the perfect apartment that will fit my needs a long with my cat. The apartments have large windows so she and I will be enjoying the wonderful view that Mother Nature will be providing for us each day. I fill truly blessed that I found a new place that I will be calling HOME. The amenities are wonderful. Many options are available to do during the day if choose to do so. They have a wonderful lounge area with pool table and poker table where people meet to play cards and watch some sports if that is what you enjoy. They also have a Putting range for any of you golfers out there. Inside pool with hot tub and Sauna room to relax and enjoy your senior years. So many more amenities that I haven’t even mentioned. But I will be enjoying all of them soon.. as I meeting new friends…Thank you so very much to Allese that showed and took me on the tour and was with me through helping my dreams come true and starting a new chapter in my life. Hugs to you Allese and to ALL STAFF members that work very hard to keep that beautiful place running and looking immaculate. I’m looking forward to meeting my new large family and new friends. I can’t WAIT!! So far I’m rating this place 5 STARS.. let’s keep the 5 star rating going Attivo Trails.. A Big Thank You, also to the Owners and his vision that he had a dream to build a place for that his mother would want to live at. My mother past away a couple yrs ago . Pros and Cons Pro: Moving from another city to be closer to family was going to be hard for my mom - her 'villa' at Attivo has been so good for her and the new friends she made there made it so welcoming! Building is spotless, lots of great events and concerts in the courtyard and real sense of community. Con: their is an on-going issue with cellular service for residents. The provider doesn't appear to be an issue. I do worry if we need to call for emergency services - what if her call drops or can't get connected again?

We have lived at Attivo Trail for three years and are very happy with our experiences. All of the staff are always helpful, friendly and courteous. Maintenance staff are the best. A calendar is available each month with activities and other information. We enjoy the weekly music on the Patio with a variety of entertainment. We have also enjoyed the availability of the pool and exercise room. Being able to get our mail each day without having to go outside is great.

When I took my first tour I knew Attivo Trail was the place for me. Beautiful apartments with large windows that lets the light in. The walk-in closets are spacious and every apartment has either a balcony or a patio. Love the fitness center and the indoor swimming pool. There are many resident led activities. My favorite is aquasize. It’s always good to be in the pool. There are many activities and bus trips and opportunities to socialize with other residents. There is no pressure to participate in anything but it’s good to have so much available. On-site management is excellent. It seems all of the staff are able to answer questions even if it’s not in their area. Maintenance staff are amazing. They respond quickly and do a great job. Overall Attivo Trail is a great place to live.

I can not let the comment from Roger go. I have lived here for over 2 1/2 years. Yes, I will admit I have had a couple issues how some decisions come about, but you have to realize no place is perfect. Our staff works hard for us. All in all I feel we have become a community who laugh, cry and help each other out. There are friends to turn too. We have a staff that listens to us and our ideas and concerns. You will make lots of friend here if you do your part by becoming involved and a smile goes long way. My husband and I feel totally safe here. If there was a dog or resident that was a threat to anyone they would not be allowed to remain. This incident was a total accident and he was protecting his dog from you. What goes a around, comes around.

I have only lived here for six months, and these are the events thus far. When we interviewed, we were told if that apartment didn't work out for us, we could just move to another one. When it came time for that option, we were told we could move, but under heavy financial penalty. There is an aggressive dog on the premises, and it is allowed to stay. Also, I am a male in my seventies, and I was attacked by another resident. Again, that individual is allowed to stay here. My wife and I DO NOT feel safe here!

Yesterday after the 13 snow we got I got an email from the office saying if you parked outside to bring your car keys to the office and they would move your car, clean out the parking space and return your car to its place!!! Attivo Trail is like no other! The facility is beautiful and the staff is kind and patient. We were shown utmost respect and understanding while looking at several units trying to find just the right one. Even the residents are pleasant and helpful, finding us the cart so we could load boxes to move in easily, and welcoming us as they find out we just moved in a week ago. It is very affordable for seniors on a fixed income, which you keep control of. You may have to do some downsizing, but it is well worth it as everything is taken care of for you! Come check it out!

I can not be more excited for my Mom to join the Attivo family. We have been treated with so much kindness from several employees and also a special Thanks to Scott Wallace for all the patience he gave us going back and forth between apartments, he even encouraged us to look again just to make sure! He really made my Mom feel better about her choice she made. Mom has had Dad by her side for 64 years, and doing this with out him has been hard, but she was smiling and excited for this new adventure in her life... Thank you

We have lived here a year or so love it. It really feels like home. We moved here from another state. We have met so many nice residents here. The staff is professional but friendly. All of our ammenities are much more than we ever expected. We definitely keep active here, if we choose. We have had outside musical entertainment several times.The staff works hard to maintain a very safe healthy environment for us.

I love living at Ativo Trail. My apartment is beautiful, the halls and common areas are immaculate. If I need to submit a service request, maintenance is at my door within 12-24 hours. There are lots of activities to enjoy, no one has to feel lonely.

My wife and I moved into Attivo Trail one month ago, and we LOVE it! Previously, we were living in a Haverkamp property in Ankeny after moving from New Orleans three years ago. We looked for a 55+ facility in Ankeny, but couldnt find anything that fit my needs and desires. We ran into our apartment manager and he told us about Attivo Trail, and even set up our tour for us with John. I was sold as soon as I walked in the front door! The facility has everything my wife and I need to live on our own. And when our health begins to fail, Home InStead can come into our apartment and provide whatever care we need without any further relocation! The staff here is second to none, and there are activities so that nobody has to feel left out! I would recommend Attivo Trail to anybody looking for a safe, affordable, beautiful 55+ facility that will welcome you with open arms!

I am so grateful Attivo trail exists!My mom is moving across state lines for retirement and weve been seeking out a new home for her to enjoy. She is a teacher, therefore we need something she can afford. Several places around Des Moines are incredibly expensive requiring a $300,000 deposit plus a monthly payment - how can places ask for someones entire life work?! Not everyone is a millionaire!Im not only grateful for the affordable price for her, but also the community culture we experienced during our tour. Scott Wallace is a PHENOMENAL human being! He is so incredibly patient, kind, and went out of his way to make sure we felt comfortable with her new home. There were several residents enjoying the amenities during our visit who were incredibly friendly and outgoing.Im very grateful I found Attivo trail online! This is the perfect home for a retiree who is seeking an independent living option without all of the hassle of homeownership. The building is new, beautiful, and just a short drive away from me.DEFINITELY CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!

My husband and I moved here from Ankeny almost a month ago. We have met some wonderful people here in a very short time. The staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to help make sure you have everything you need. We looked at other places but we kept coming back to Attivo Trail.

My mother just moved here and it is such a wonderful community! My daughter, Hannah, loves to go visit her Grandma and the ladies at the coffee bar and library. All of the residents are so sweet and patient with a little five year old running around. Every time we walk in the front door to visit Grandma, residents greet her by name. I am so grateful to have found such a lovely group of people for my mom.

So pleased with Attivo and their staff! Recently leased an apartment for my mom, very excited about the beautiful facility!! So grateful for Todd and his patience, he made sure all our questions were answered and let us take our time in choosing just the right unit for her...truly felt he treated us like family! I stayed Attivo Trail with my client who moved from Chicago to Attivo. I am a Professional Organizer and made the trip with them to unpack and organize their apartment and storage room and continue the purge. I was beyond impressed with literary everything during my stay. I felt so at home but also like we were staying at a resort. I strongly suggest scheduling a tour to see if this is your Home!
