Bad response time to call buttons!!!!!!! When you call and ask staff to check on your loved one it usually doesn’t happen!!! They need to do better!!!!! Sara and Miguel are great!!!! Everyone else not so good!!

After a warm welcome for my tour & a cold bottle of water, I was introduced to June Allen, Community Relations Director who gave me a tour and answered all my questions. I was impressed with the facility and appreciated the gift of peach jam just for visiting.

My mom lived at the Oaks at Towne Lake for three and a half years before passing away there a month ago. I am profoundly grateful to all of the staff there for the love and care they provided to her over those years, especially in the last months of her life. Very special thanks to Sara and Miguel and Willie who were our favorites. Their tender, loving care will never be forgotten. It is a great comfort to me that, since I was unable to get there in time, Sara was with Mom when she left this life. Other special mentions go to Executive Director Laura and Nursing Director Koko who supported Mom and me with kindness and patience. Five stars is not nearly enough to recommend the Oaks to anyone seeking a quality home for a loved one. Trust me when I tell you not to bother trying to find one better.

We recently moved my 91-year-old mother to The Oaks Assisted Living Facility, and the entire experience has been wonderful. Laura and Coco went above and beyond to help with the transition and made all of the arrangements seamlessly smooth during what could have been a stressful time for our family. The activity directors, Kimberly and Ann, have also been absolutely amazing! There are so many daily activities and truly something for everyone to enjoy: chair yoga, walking classes, movies, daily devotionals, games, penny auctions, monthly family gatherings, shopping trips, lunches out, pet therapy, and so much more. The list of activities feels endless, and they continue adding new opportunities every month. The facility itself is always clean, beautiful, and welcoming. Most importantly, the entire staff is caring, professional, and attentive. We are so grateful for the kindness and support shown to my mother and our family. I would highly recommend The Oaks to anyone looking for an assisted living community for a loved one.

I had a really good experience here, the activities were actually fun and not boring at all and the whole place felt really home like and family friendly. the staff was super nice and welcoming and it didn’t feel fake, they were smiling and greeting us like that’s just how they are. i didn’t feel judged at all which made everything more comfortable. the residents looked really happy and peaceful which i liked a lot. also the outside deck with the waterfall was really pretty. overall i would 100% recommend, it just felt like a warm and positive environment.

My sister was here and it wasn't a pleasant experience for her. Very few activities while she was there. i.e. "private journaling", "visit a friend", "walk around the building". Didn't always give her a choice of food. Not what I would pay for. Not all staff members were pleasant. I will leave it at that! I note from your response that you would like to address this, but I contacted you months ago about this, with no response, even though it was requested. I gave you specific information.

Such a beautiful, lively and friendly building! The new Executive Director, Pete VanderBogart, is doing a wonderful job! He always makes time to meet with families, employees and residents. If you are looking for a senior living community for a loved one, the Oaks is a great choice!

My wife and I visited the oaks recently and loved the place. The executive director Peter Vander Bogart and Kim Bennett took us for a complete tour and this is the best place for our mother. We have visited many others in the area and this is a 5 stars for us.

My mother moved into Horizons at The Oaks at Towne Lake one month ago. Our experience has been amazing! She is clean, well cared for, and involved in engaging activities. Her overall demeanor has improved and she is happy and content. I am so grateful to the staff for caring for her so well and really getting to know her as an individual. I only wish we had made this move sooner.

We know how difficult it is to make the decision to seek additional care for a parent. Our family is so fortunate to have found The Oaks at Towne Lake for our mother. She has mobility and other physical limitations. When we visited for the first time they did not hesitate to assure us they could care for her health needs. She has now been there over two years and we could not be more blessed with her care and the staff who provides it. The staff all works together as a team to provide fun and engaging activities for the residents(flower arranging, painting, baking, book club), Elvis even made an appearance. Even though we do not have a need for memory care at this time I would not hesitate to recommend Horizons. The staff is equally caring and compassionate. They lovingly make sure the residents’ needs are met both physically and spiritually. There is such a positive and caring vibe when I go for a visit. I am certain we made the best decision for my mom.

I have my mother at Oaks atTowne Lake and I could not be happier. I researched 10 facilities before making my choice. I can tell you that I sleep well at night knowing that there is an extra set of eyes on her. The facility is just the right size ! Therefore, my mother is not just a number. The executive director has assembled a staff that is both professional and caring!

Enjoyed spending some time with my dad but it was the other details that made this evening not a positive one. Inadequate staffing (new agency faces), lack of supervision in the memory care unit, no assistance in feeding those residents that require help causing some to not eat and one resident’s plate ended up on the floor without being touched. Thankfully we brought food for my dad and helped him eat because I feel positive he would not have been brought to the dining area or fed this evening. One particular resident was very disruptive to everyone, eating off other residents and staff plates, cursing, and yelling although nobody to redirect this behavior. Another resident’s family member attempting to reach a Supervisor regarding the situation without success. At least 1/2 of the clothes, linens in my dads room did not belong to him. Being in healthcare myself I understand the issues everyone is faced with regarding staffing and try to approach these situations with grace however given the cost of living in a facility like this with extra expense to include Memory Care assistance and supervision, every 30 min checks, 2 person assistance with all transfers, etc it is very disappointing.

My parents were here for 20 months before my dad passed with Alzheimer's. My mom did not want to leave him, so they let her stay with him in Horizon's. The people were very nice and helpful. We were blessed to have been there, even though no where is like being in your own home. May God bless them all because they really deserve it, working with dementia patients is a tremendous strain, and Covid made it harder.

I felt my sister was sincerely well cared for by so many good people. The meals were well done, someone was always there to help, I enjoyed the resident parties, appreciated the generous pet policy, so many positives. The memory care was sized to be intimate enough that everyone had close personal care. A tough job with a client that has no happy ending, yet the staff remained positive and caring.

An absolutely outstanding and beautiful home that not only made my grandfather feel like family but our entire family as well. We truly enjoyed the holiday gatherings and all of the wonderful events there! Every time we walked into the building we felt at home. The staff is caring and takes personal responsibility for the residents. They are always working to make the residents feel at home, comfortable and entertained. I enjoy that they make an effort to incorporate the families as much as possible and during these trying times they have had several drive-through parades which helps us all feel more at ease. This is a top-notch facility.

My Mom has been a resident at the Oaks, in their memory care section, since July 2019. I could not ask for a better group of caring , dedicated people and I can rest easy knowing that she is being taken care of. The staff in the assisted living area are also friendly and always are ready to answer questions and give any help them can. LOVE THEM ALL.

My grandmother is in the memory care section at The Oaks, and she’s actually much happier than I’ve seen her in years. Being around people and having a routine has helped with her emotional health beyond my expectations. Mary and her staff have been amazing through Covid and kept my grandmother (and the residents) safe and healthy with plenty of communication. They made sure we had video calls and then outside distanced visits when it was safe. I’ve been very pleased with The Oaks.

The care and love my mother-in-law has received from the staff at the Oaks has been five-star for the past two years. From medical attention to social activities, the staff is very qualified and devoted to the residents. Even during COVID-19, every effort is made to schedule virtual visits and distant courtyard visits. We are thankful this beautiful facility is located in Towne Lake only two miles from our home.

My parents moved in to the Oaks in the first part of March, 2020. Then everything locked down due to Covid-19. The staff have been phenomenal at taking care of my Mom and Dad. The precautions they take are reflected in the zero infection rate they have maintained. My Mom and Dad can't say enough about how much Heather, Nicole, Keisha and the rest of the staff do for them every week. I love this facility and am so grateful we chose the Oaks for my parents to live.

This is an absolutely fantastic top notch facility. My mother is extremely happy here. The staff if caring and diligent with their care. They take the time to get to know the families, and they are fully aware of the individual needs of the residents. The special events are well planned, fun, and rewarding!

I can't say enough great things about the Oaks! The staff is amazing and they genuinely care about the residents. The facility is beautiful and very well planned out. My mother is very happy living here and she comments often about how kind everyone is. The food is great, they have Chef Mark to plan and prepare the meals. I wish I could eat so well! The staff really go the extra mile, they let me know if there have been any changes with my mom, even if it's something minor. Mom's room is always clean, her laundry is done several time a week and is folded/put away for her. Her bed linens are changed once a week, the trash in her room is emptied daily. I would love to live here one day. Andrew, the Executive Director, is always out and about. He knows all of the residents by name and knows details about each one. He knew me by name before I had even moved my mom in. The Executive Directors at two other communities where my mom lived prior to the Oaks never left their offices and didn't know my name, even though I visited 4-7 days a week. Lynne, the Horizons activities director, is amazing. She has so many great things planned, my mom loves going for rides on the community bus, even if it's just the "scenic joyride" around Woodstock. My mother has lived at three other AL and memory care communities and the Oaks is by far the best. I visited four communities before selecting the Oaks. I also asked around a lot, talked to many people in the industry, including the caregivers, CNAs, etc. They all said how great the Oaks is and how much they would love to work there if given the chance.
