I kept quiet on the negative reviews given while I was employed there, but now that I’m gone, here’s my 2 cents.This is NOT a nursing home. Nursing homes have nurses that can take patients that are declining. In assisted living, there are STATE REGULATIONS AND GUIDELINES that a resident has to CONTINUE to meet to be able to stay without STATE coming in and causing a stink. 1 of those regulations is that the resident has to be able to transfer themselves with minimal to no assistance since this particular facility is a NO LIFT facility. A care team member having to lift your loved one, causing injury to themselves is no bueno.So to the negative reviews about St Gabriel no longer accepting your loved 1, it was probably due to your loved 1 NO longer meeting the minimal requirements and STATE regulations to live there. That is not on the facility, but rather the facility doing what state requires of them.To the LN Parker- I know who you are and trust me, we LOVED him and it broke everyone’s hearts to not be able to have him come and live where he had made his home.We fully expected for him to come back, but unfortunately, his care became more than State would allow us to accept. It was not to continue to get your money.Rant over. Thank you for listening to my TED talk.Also, deduction of 1 star for how I was treated as an employee there, doing all the care plans for residents and not being compensated for any of it but instead, being attacked when my car broke down and my husband and I were having to share a vehicle and a family member was dying. Veritas ran it then and I hope everyone that worked for corporate at the time (and the 1 that ran our building and threw me under the bus) has the day that they deserve.Oh and 1 more thing- to the employee’s sister….really?! Really?! Who even are you and why does your opinion matter?! “Oh my sister worked there and I’m posting a negative review because I got a ONE sided story that isn’t even MY story” Please.

My sister has been a resident at St. Gabriels of Athens since they opened and we have been very pleased with the care! The staff go above and beyond to provide attentive, compassionate care. My sister enjoys the activities and the meals. We recommend St. Gabriels highly.

I had the pleasure of completing my internship at this community this past summer and have recently moved into a position as the Administrative Coordinator. It is a joy working with the staff and residents each day. This truly is a community of people who care. If you are looking for a assisted living or memory care community for your loved one look no further than St. Gabriel of Athens. It is a wonderful place to spend your days, either as an employee or as a resident.

I have worked for this community for two years ! And In all my years of working in senior living, assisted living and nursing home this is by far the best place in the area! I never expected to find a place that I call my second home. The building itself is beautiful, elegant, and Cozy! The care team is amazing, they work very hard giving each resident the dignity, respect and honor they all deserve! The leadership is compassionate, understanding and always trying to fulfill the needs of our residents, families and staff. they do a phenomenal job keeping order while at the same time making sure that we all have a fun and positive place to work! I hope to continue to be an employee with St. Gabriels as they continue to grow!

My 87 year old mother has been in Memory Care at Thrive for over two years and seems happy and content. The assistant staff is quite caring and loving, and the nursing and rehabilitation staff are wonderfully attentive. I would highly recommend Thrive to anyone looking for a bright, happy, lovely, safe and warm assisted living home for their loved one.
