I cannot tell you enough just how amazing this Community is on Skidaway Island! My father is at a special phase in his life where it's time to move into Independent Living. It's a tough transition that all families face and the ladies in the Marketing Department have made it so easy! They are able to answer all my father's questions and believe me - he had plenty of questions! They were so patient and accommodating to us both. Very helpful in guiding me and my dad through the end of life decisions with timely and empathetic guidance into hospice care. I recently had the pleasure of touring Thrive on Skidaway, and I was truly impressed from the moment I arrived. Walking through the entrance, my first thought was, I would love for my dad to live here. The community is beautifully maintained, warm, and inviting. Although the staff had no idea who I was, they were exceptionally welcoming, and the residents were friendly and clearly at home. The amenities are outstanding”from the elegant dining areas to the in-house Starbucks”every detail reflects a balance of professionalism, comfort, and hospitality. I can’t say enough about the experience and look forward to visiting again soon.

She was very welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about her job. Every staff member we met was extremely friendly and professional. Thrive is quite beautiful from the outside; and there are employees that truly care, especially on first shift. The problem is follow-up, on problems that occur. Our mom did not get the help she needed to bathe. Second and third shift did not regularly respond when she pushed her button requesting help to the bathroom. Management claimed she refused baths but cameras showed otherwise. She fell going to the bathroom at midnight. They put her back in bed (never called me) and didn’t check her again until 6:00 am. By then the pain from a broken hip had caused a stroke. They knew she was injured at 6:00 am but never called an ambulance or me, even though they told her they would. Help arrived at 9:00 am because we saw the camera. They promised (as they had done in the past) an investigation. Crickets. No follow-up. Mom died. Install cameras! **** Update 10/6/2024 Kaylynn reached out to me and we met to discuss this situation. She provided information regarding all that has been done to correct the above mentioned situation. Great lengths were taken to investigate and make changes to assure that the communication issues between shifts and loved ones will be fixed for future residents at Thrive. I am relieved and comforted by the information we received. I am glad Thrive is on the Island to help those in need of their services. Thank you, Kaylynn.

There are some really great people that work here.but beware, your loved ones aren’t always getting the care they say they will provide. Put cameras inthe night shift do not check your loved ones every two hours as they say. They say they will bath your loved ones three times a weekand tell the family they are refusing showers. WRONG.they are understaffed and let you believe your loved one is refusing. Againget a camera. We had an awful experience where our loved one fell at midnight, staff found her at 1AM put her back in bed with a broken hip, and didn’t respond until 6am where they still didn’t get medical attention until I looked at cameras and demanded they send help. 9AM9 hours without help for a broken hipwhich caused stroke Too late.our loved one is dead because of negligence. But as I said in the beginning.some of the staff is compassionate and competent! Just be careful!!!! UPDATE: After State investigation we are happy with the resolution and changes that have been made at Thrive. They changed policies, updated systems and reached out to our family to explain new policies. Kaylynn took the high Road. She went above and beyond for our family to know our Mom’s death wasn’t in vainand safety measures are in place. Thank you Thrive

This place is 5 star. Everything is neat, clean and the kitchen smelled wonderful. I couldn't stay long enough to sample anything but I would love to. The staff are all very kind and accommodating. This is definitely the place to be.

My mom has been at Thrive for almost 2 years now. She recently had a stay at the hospital which has left her too weak to take care of herself. The case managers at the hospital wanted to send her to a nursing home. Thank goodness for Brittany Marshall who is the Health and Wellness Director. Brittany stepped in and advocated for mom with the case managers and helped us set up a plan for getting mom back to Thrive. We could not have done this without Brittany's knowledge and experience in these situations. Brittany demonstrated her care for the residents by visiting mom in the hospital multiple times and standing in the gap by advocating for her. Brittany will forever have our thanks for going the extra mile beyond the call of duty.

Thrive on Skidaway is a very impressive facility. The staff is so amazing and kind. The residents seem genuinely happy and well cared for. I attended an event hosted by Thrive benefitting One Love Animal Rescue that was open to the public. We were able to interact with cats & kittens and there was a very interesting and informative demonstration with their bottle baby kittens. Plus snacks!! I would recommend this senior living establishment to everyone! ’•

Thrive is a wonderful community with beautiful views! When visiting, the residents seem so engaged and happy! The team/staff seem to put in a lot of time, effort, and creativity to give the residents a place to love living! I think it’s also so incredible to have so many services available In house, especially having a PT/OT to aim towards a better quality of life!
