Savannah Square – Reviews
July 2024
Savannah square is an incredible place and the staff make you feel at home. With my mother in Savannah Square I can rest and not worry about my mother because I know she is being helped by caring people. This is where I will be someday
June 2024
Our experience at Savannah Square has been an excellent one. We have been treated warmly as well as politely. Our questions have been answered and needs met. We are looking forward to becoming a part of the community.
April 2024
My Aunt Marsha lived in independent living at Savannah Square in a beautiful light filled one bedroom apartment. She was treated like family. In fact, when she was diagnosed with stage four cancer in November, they moved her to assisted living- they made the transition quickly and coordinated with Hospice. I did not want Marsha to pass in a nursing home; I wanted her to be close to friends and her treasured owl collection. Because she was already in the system, she was given priority for the high demand placement; "Marsha is part of our family, will make this happen!" Lynda at the front desk was amazing so too was Kelly and the executive director. Our family thanks Marsha's compassionate driver, the caring security at the front gate, all the kitchen help who prepared her favorite foods and the nurses that treated her with dignity and loving care. God bless you all In gratitude, Sue Mullane, MS Ed

We have been blown away with everything associated with Savannah Square! Our family member is getting the royal treatment and is enjoying the smiles, greetings, great food, activities and overall culture of the place. In addition, the campus boasts 17 acres where the residents can get outside and exercise and they even have a putting green!! The process was made easy for us through the great work and thoroughness of Hillary, Kelli and Shawn, they are awesome! Huge.kudos to.Jessica for her wonderful, positive attitude in engaging the reidents in activities. Eric, Avonte, Mr. Ray and the rest of the maintenance team get the work done and don't stop until it's right. Ebony and Angel and the rest of the floor staff are the best! They bend over backwards to make everyone comfortable and always with a smile and a good word. Jose and the rest of the security team take care of the residents as if they were their own family and for that we cannot be more grateful. We give our highest recommendation to Savannah Square.

If you want to see team work at its best this is where you will see it. From the housekeepers to the Executive Director I was able to witness first hand how everyone comes together to make sure the residents receive the absolute best care everyday.

So thankful for the care and attention that Savannah Square gives to my father. The care they have to do well by people but also to always look for ways to improve is something you don't see at most assisted living places.

My mother in law was a resident in independent living at Riceland Hall for a little over six years, and we were very satisfied with everything offered, with safety and security being a primary concern. She is now a resident in assisted living at Palmetto Inn at Savannah Square. Now along with safety and security still being taken care of, personal assistance from the multiple staff members for her daily needs provides us with the confidence that she is in the right place and she is being taken care of in a way that provides a huge relief to us. Kimberly, the Director of Savannah Square is personally available. at any time, for any assistance we as the family or my mother in law may need. We appreciate that Savannah Square is her home.

My mother lives in Palmetto Inn at Savannah Square. The Palmetto Inn staff is attentive and caring even as her needs become more demanding. They don't hesitate to communicate any worries they have about her with me. The Savannah Square administrative staff is always responsive to all my questions and concerns. Their team and even take turns staging activities for the residents. It eases my mind to know that she is so well taken care of there.

Everyone is always so friendly when I come to visit! Thanks to Kelli and Kim and the team at Savannah Square for all the great things they do for the people that live there!
June 2022
Savannah Square is a PHENOMENAL place to work, an AMAZING place for our residents to live & a wonderful place for family members to visit. I am blessed to be a part of this community.
February 2022
Savannah Square is the premier retirement community in Savannah. I wouldn’t live anywhere else. Kudos to Kimberly and all of the staff for making us feel like family.

Visited a relative here, and we were received with a warm welcome. The kitchen staff were very friendly and food was very tasty.

Savannah Square is probably the best of its kind in Savannah. Our experience was in an independent cottage which was nice. We also found the staff to be friendly, caring and professional. The only real complaint we have is while the meals are excellent, there are so many seafood dishes and it was hard at times for my husband (allergic to shellfish) to find something he could eat. He ended up eating the same thing repeatedly. Everything else was superb!
October 2020
From the time Kelli showed us around to the day we moved my mother-in-law in, Savannah Square impressed us as a perfect place for moms new home. The dining room is beautiful, the food is excellent, the apartments are precious and the staff is very friendly and supportive. Kelli and Arianna in the sales office are like family members. Nicole, Emma and the rest of the staff from Dietary take the time to know each resident. The housekeeping team is personal and professional. This is the best place for an independent senior to live well in Savannah.

My parents have lived at Savannah Square for over 7 years. They first moved into one of the cottages and later into Richland Hall. The last two years they have resided at Palmetto Inn. Savannah Square has allowed my parents to maintain their dignity as they have aged. This evening I attended my first Alzheimers support group led by Minnie Simmons. I gained knowledge of the disease and the realization I dont have to face this journey alone. Thank you Minnie Simmons and Savannah Square
October 2020
The staff is friendly and helpful. The beautiful grounds are well-maintained for daytime and nighttime strolls. I have a great feeling of security with a guard always on duty, and a privacy brick wall surrounding the facility. They offer healthy meals with many, many choices.
October 2020
I find everybody—staff and residents-- to be very friendly. When youre new, people know and they know your name when you meet them. They make sure you feel right at home. I must honestly say I enjoy the food, and they have a wide variety of options on their menu. There are several activities for us to participate in. The staff is very accommodating and they try to please all of us. Arianna, the Sales Associate and Move-In Coordinator, made an amazing impression when she brought her own television to my new apartment after discovering my cable TV was not working. I need to have the TV on at night, and it meant so much to me that she would go to great lengths to make my first nights stay comfortable. She has been so kind to me from the day she met me, and I love her dearly. Savannah Square is a wonderful place to live!
July 2020
Savannah Square is the greatest place to live at. My family is very happy I am here, because there is always something to do, and the staff member are just so kind and amazing. Laura, the activities director, is the best! You can tell she loves what she does. She keeps us active with so many activities including exercise activities, which are just wonderful for people our age. The kitchen staff and the food here are just phenomenal. I really enjoy being outside, and the view from my apartment is amazing.
June 2020
Savannah Square is like living at a resort!! They do everything for you so that you just get to enjoy life. I moved here temporarily from Iowa to be near my son at the Landings, and loved it so much, I decided to stay permanently. They offer transportation 7 days a week, so that I can go shopping, and to all my doctors appointments and even church on Sundays. The staff is wonderful, and will bend over backwards to help with anything they can to make sure you are happy! The menu is extensive with really fun specials on Fridays nights and all holidays are celebrated! I love it here and recommend it to anyone looking for senior living!
April 2020
I am very happy to be here, and the service has been very good. I especially want to mention that the meals and menu are wonderful. The staff is very obliging and helpful. The maintenance team is just amazing, super helpful, and knowledgeable. Ray is so great. The grounds are well kept and clean. I would love to mention Laura, the activities director-- whom is amazing! Thanks to her, there is always something to do, if you want something to do. The housekeeping team is great as well! Especially my girl Rae. I can understand why this company is Five Star. I am really happy with my cottage. I am living like a queen! I feel honored and very pleased that the marketing team likes to show my cottage to people interested in moving here. Those who move, cannot possibly regret it. I feel lucky to be here.
April 2020
Great experience. At a difficult time, my mom was treated with respect and kindness. All questions answered quickly!
April 2020
My mother has lived at Savannah Square for more than 13 years in Independent living but recently made a transition into assisted living. The staff at Savannah Square has helped me every step of the way. They have been so caring, helpful, and professional. The staff knew exactly what to say to my mother, who has dementia, to make this transition as seamless as possible. I feel very comfortable with her living arrangement at Palmetto Inn and know that she will be well taken care of and I will be well informed of her activities.
March 2020
Savannah Square is not a typical retirement home! For example, when you become a resident, you are treated as a member of an extended family. The social activities available allow you to participate as much or as little as you like. Dining facilities serve many delicious meals with a wide choice of menu items. Another advantage is the location of savannah square which it is very convenient to shopping, restaurants, doctors, dentists and hospitals. I really enjoy living here!
March 2020
Savannah Square has been a wonderful place for my dad to recover after shattering his hip and breaking his dominant arm. The staff is wonderful and caring. Special kudos to Chiletta and Lisa who helped us get him admitted after the hospital; Chefs Jamal & Jessica who are helping improve his appetite; Nurses Nick, Joy & Amy who are helping manage his pain; all the CNTs & support staff as well. Although there have been some unpleasant experiences, the overall time we have been at Savannah Squares Health Center has been a positive one. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for rehab, skilled care.

Savannah Square is a nice place to be at. The staff is extremely nice and the residents are so welcoming. I am very happy to be here.
September 2019
Savannah Square is like a big family with staff who genuinely love what they do and show that in every contact with residents or resident family members. My dad has had amazing treatment. Whether you need customized nutrition from Chef Jamal or individualized therapy from Laura they have you covered. Dr Chambers is hands on and always available for nurses to call at any time. Whitney in marketing and Chiletta in admissions take care of every detail to make the process seamless for the patient and family member. i have only wonderful things to say about Savannah Square!
July 2019
We have three family members who happily call Palmetto Inn at Savannah Square their home. From the very beginning Ive been impressed with the lovely atmosphere of the building, the beautiful and well-kept grounds, and especially the kind and caring staff. Whitney, the move-in coordinator, was with us every step of the way from our first tour to making sure my Mom was happy and settled in her new apartment. Minnie Simmons, the director at Palmetto Inn, utilizes her professional skills as a nurse and an administrator to give each of our three family members excellent, personalized care. Bennie, the activities director, has something fun happening every day, from chair aerobics and bingo to ice cream socials and happy hours. She truly has a heart for seniors and gives so much of herself each and every day to build and maintain a vibrant community for residents. She is quick to get to know each resident and their family members, treating us all with respect and offering kindness and support. There are many CNAs as well, who serve meals, dispense medication, and provide personal care with an attitude of caring and professionalism. I absolutely could not be happier with our experience at Savannah Square.
July 2019
I cannot say enough good things about Savannah Square. The staff has always been so ready to help and they take such good care of us. We feel so blessed to be here for the almost 2 years that we have called Savannah Square our home.Out of all the places we looked, this is by far the best. Someone is always ready to listen and to help with any problem. Smiles and hugs abound, the perfect TLC for people in our age group. Please accept our deepest gratitude for performing your tasks so well.
June 2019
After reviewing numerous rehabilitation centers for physical therapy, our 93 year old aunt was admitted to the Health Center at Savannah Square for rehab from a fall at her home. While no place is perfect or home, I must say our overall experience was more than we expected! There were a few concerns during our 8-week stay, however, speaking to the staff and administrator, all were addressed and remedied quickly. Communication is key with every health concern and the staff was spot on! The office staff is fabulous - they are informed, caring and there for ANY question, concern or issue helping to navigate the family and resident with respect. The physical therapy team - there are no words to adequately describe how grateful we are for the due diligence given to our aunt with grace and kindness! They literally got her back on her feet with her head held high. We will forever be in their debt!!Come check out date, we felt as if we were leaving family and have missed seeing and interacting with the staff on a daily basis. In a nutshell, we are extremely happy we chose Savannah Square Health Center!

I visit three friends at Palmetto ( Asst living). I visited one of these ladies for 3 plus months in the Medical Center where she received excellent care as well as PT, OT & Speech Therapy.Palmetto staff have made all the difference in the quality of life for my three friends. Nursing staff is caring and attentive! The housekeeper addresses my friends by name. She found one of my friends walking away from her walker and acted quickly to block walker and called for help. The kitchen staff knows special needs and at least one of them sings as she cleans up after meals. Her beautiful voice brings JOY!The activity director ( Bennie ) arranges for enjoyable entertainment & routine scheduled activities that build community and keep residents active. She has a gift for relating to residents and encouraging one and all !Her music choices for chair arrobics have residents singing along as they participate in this well organized class! She is a very busy lady!I enjoy the Diva Dancers and Karen ( new) on her guitar because they include residents & use well known music in their time with residents.Bennie is good at providing new socializing activities for residents. She is a joy and encouragement to residents and those of us who care about family & friends who call Palmetto home.
May 2019
I was so happy with the tour I had at this facility. The staff was very attentive and answered all my questions. They were polite and made us feel welcome throughout the tour. The facility was modern and very clean!
April 2019
This facility seems to be very clean and well maintained. The nurses have all been professional and polite during our time here. There are plenty of activities to keep the residents happy. It is a very calm and enjoyable environment. I would suggest this location for any of your loved ones needs.
April 2019
We were so touched by the compassion and empathy demonstrated by all staff at Savannah Squares. Not only did they take excellent care of my mom, they also cared for my sister and I as we spent many hours at moms bedside. I highly recommend them if you need care for a loved one.
March 2019
It was a wonderful experience moving my mom into Savannah Square! The facility is beautiful and inviting; the staff helpful and accommodating and the other residents welcoming and congenial. Whitney Norwood, our contact at Savannah Square, could not have been more helpful. She was knowledgeable and patient with all my questions and worked extra hard to finish an apartment for my mom in the time frame that we had. My mom has only been at Savannah Square for a short time, but she is already enjoying the amenities (including the good food!) and activities. Thank you, Savannah Square, for being there for us at this time in my moms life.
March 2018
I am in the process of moving my mother to Savannah Square and the staff have been informative, gracious and very helpful. I anticipate that her life there will be fulfilling and active with the caring staff they have in place. I am grateful for their help with this new transition for mom.
January 2018
Savannah Square has been a great choice for our family. The staff is friendly, supportive, and genuinely concerned for the residents. The menu in the dining room offers great options and the other residents are very welcoming.
