I have resided at Rivers Edge for a year and at a former sister facility in Macon for a year. As a home health social worker in Savannah I formerly visited clients here and in similiar facilities. The best aspect of living here is the fellow residents and the dining room wait staff. The facilities are generally comfortable, safe and there are substantial improvements underway. The general opinion of food selection, preparation, quality and wait time between ordering and delivery to the table persist as areas of resident discontent. Changed in chefs and head management fail to bring about lasting improvement. Resident opinions commonly expressed are,; if this were a restaurant, it would be out of business but we are a captive audience and changes in chefs and management fail to bring about consistent improvement,

As a musician I entertain regularly at Rivers Edge and it is one of my favorite places to perform. Not only are the residents a delight but the staff seems to genuinely care about the residents. After one of my shows I will often hang around for an extra 30 minutes or more just chatting with the residents. There is truly a sense of family and community.

This afternoon I overheard our manager telling a woman - who uses a walker and struggles even with that - that if she cannot bend over to pick up her dog's waste, she shouldn't have a dog. She was told in a very ugly tone that she needs to follow the same rules as everybody else. This attitude disregards the connection older people have with their dogs, the bond and the need each of the other. This seems a very unkind and uncharitable position for someone who runs a retirement center. Just be aware - if your health doesn't allow you to bend over to pick up dog waste, this is not the home for you or your dog.

I recently visited a friend at River’s Edge at Barclay and was really impressed with the community. The building is beautiful and very well kept, but what stood out the most was how friendly and welcoming everyone was. The staff were warm and attentive, and the residents seemed happy and engaged. It felt like a place where people are truly cared for, and the atmosphere was relaxed and positive. I left thinking it would be a wonderful community for someone looking for senior living in the area.

River’s Edge has provided a wonderful Independent and Retirement community for Senior Living. The atmosphere, and vibrancy is lovely, and there are so many wonderful opportunities to be had here. I highly recommend.

Repairs are not made in a timely fashion if they are made at all. The food is mediocre on a good day, and more often is just gross (and there's no way out of their meal program). There's constant turnover of staff. Management doesn't seem to care much - you can bring issues to their attention but they're unresponsive.

Wonderful place and the staff is absolutely amazing. I toured every place in Savannah and Rivers Edge was the best choice for my parents. They enjoy the staff and location is key! Highly recommend.

We came (my former neighbor and I) to take a tour. It was a very nice facility. But after a month it had exceeded expectations in so many ways! My neighbor needed to make a move to a new location, where more of his needs could be met. From just walking inside we were welcomed by very friendly residents and a very warm staff. Not to say moving doesnt come with bumps in the road, but the staff could not have been more helpful. The food was delicious. And the biggest shout out to a wonderful woman named Nicole Rich (the sales manager) who has gone way past her job duties to help brainstorm with me to find care to fit his specific needs. Absolutely a huge blessing! All the staff has gone above the standard to create a new home for my friend. Thank you all!!!

I was worried about living in this type of community before moving in but the staff eased my fears and have become an important part of my life. I love seeing and talking with them. They make my life brighter and easier.

They do not spray for bugs. We have to spray the room every time we take a family away for a week. No one helps clean, and before management change this was a perk.

Very nice community, The first person I talked with was the Leasing agent, Yvette and she was very knowledgeable and patient. The community is a great value for the price, there aren't any big buy in fees or long term leases...the staff works hard every to keep residents safe and happy...my Dad feels at home here...

Roach infested. They claim to spray but it just don't work if they run to the next room. Food, caregivers and the activities are great. Staff in front office are very nasty to residents. Yet these residents deal with these roaches crawling all thru out there apartment as if their nasty. When it's the building that is infested. Not healthy for our seniors to call it home. Rivers edge really need to do better with this infestation. #ijs!

I hate going into assisted living communities or rehabilitation centers or the like and I smell old odors or urination. I did not have that feeling at all here at River's Edge. I liked hearing the announcements of the different activities that were going on and the apartment size for the small apartment was very large. They even had a little patio for the person that I was visiting. I like this community

This is an independent living retirement home and each resident has their own apartment which includes a separate private bath, small kitchenette with a fridge and microwave. There is also a sitting area connected to the bedroom which gives each resident their own private space. The place has recently been remodeled and is beautiful. To reach the home you drive down tree lined streets with mods hanging off of every tree, it is very Savannah. The feeling continues inside with an open atrium, large dining room with a personal chef and numerous sitting rooms for fun, arts and crafts, group exercise, social gatherings or just watching TV. The staff is very caring and very to know each resident very well. It is Place you feel good about moving an elderly relative into a well as visiting a resident.
